LavrWe first moved the trip to depart yesterday night. But as the ashes continued we decided to move the whole thing to October.
And it was a good thing because our flight to Heathrow ended up being cancelled so we would have been delayed by at least 24 hours.
MY wife starts a new job when we return so being delayed on the return would not be good. The volcano is still active.
The next deadline is that we branch off Release01x01. This will be delayed by a few days till I return. It is only 2-3 days. And I can see the bug status is so we probably want to delay the branch even more.
Once we branch we have to double check-in fixes. I think we are more that want to avoid that than there are people desperate to checkin features for 2.0

Dan_Ris there a way to allow someone to change a root-level web preferences
without having to specify ALLOWROOTCHANGE, since this allows changing ALL root webs?

[12:12]

Dan_RI don't get the counter-question... It's a web created for them at the root level
it's a separate division of the company, they have many sub-webs of their own
maybe I'm misusing the term root web?
[12:15]
Babarso, with names, root web would be IT, and sub-webs would be IT.Network, IT.Helpdesk, etc...?
and you'd like some team to be able to change IT.WebPreferences?
oh right, now I get it
if you ALLOWROOTCHANGE, they can change ALL webs, like IT.Helpdesk even if they're in IT.Network
hum, tried setting the ALLOWTOPICCHANGE = ... directly in WebPreferences?
[12:22]
Dan_Ryes to all your clarifications except one detail [12:23]
Babarin the IT one that is. [12:23]
Dan_Rer... actually you got it right
I tried the allowtopicchange in IT.WebPreferences, didn't work

Babarit should. so that's odd [12:24]
Dan_Rwhich was confounding because I figured the way permissions were evaluated it would allow this
I agree

Dan_Ris DENYROOTCHANGE specified somewhere?
since only Super-Admins can change the web.preferences right now of our root-level webs (correct me if I'm using root-level incorrectly)
[12:26]
Babarusually we call them webs, and the other sub-webs, but for you it might make more sense that way :)
ok, so what are you trying to do exactly?
maybe that's the issue
I mean, rename the web, move it, edit something...
[12:28]
Dan_Rjust trying to edit the contents of Web.Preferences
can edit any other page within the Web, just not Web.Preferences

gac410Hmm can't view revs between 12 and 15 either. Strange. I was sure that all "set" statements for any reason, including authorizations, were only taken from the current rev.
