nick_Why is editchapterplugin still broken in the debian package? [15:46]
Babarcould you be more specific? [15:48]
nick_I run a wiki on my ubuntu 11.04 laptop.
At some point a while ago an update stopped editchapterplugin working.
And I've kinda begrudgingly lived with it for a while.
But it does annoy me.
If my memory banks are working correctly I pointed out a while ago that the little pencil picture link pointed to a view rather than edit page.
Quite soon after that there seemed to be an update of the package, whcih just seemed to stop it working at all.
[15:49]
gac410What version of EditChapterPlugin did the deb package install? [15:52]
nick_That's a good question, isn't there a page that tells me the versions of all installed plugins? [15:54]

LynnwoodHey all. I've got a very odd time-related behavior going on and wondering if anyone might have insight. If I use CALC{$TIME to convert a time string (e.g. 06 Dec 2011 10:30) to $epoch format and then back again via $FORMATTIME, I don't get the same result as the original string.
The result is some 5 or 6 hours off of the original.

gac410Is your system set up for gmtime or servertime.
Are you on 1.1.3 or 1.1.4RC?
[20:17]
Babaryeah, 'cause I fixed most of the time conversion issues in 1.1.4, but I have to admit I haven't checked that... and foswiki.org being in GMT, you can't test it here [20:17]
gac410There was a lot of work done on Foswiki::Time in 1.1.4 to fix some of this. [20:17]
FoswikiBothttp://trunk.foswiki.org/System/PerlDoc?module=Foswiki::Time [ (Foswiki login) PerlDoc ] [20:18]
Babarbut gac410 being in the same timezone as Lynnwood, it's doable :)
(I say most because it seems I still have one small issue with DST, according to pharvey's findings)
[20:18]
gac410After all Babar's changes all of the new unit tests pass here. both servertime and gmtime. [20:18]
Babarconsidering I've hacked the unit tests too, that's not such a vote of confidence :) [20:20]
gac410yeah, but you did add a lot of tests for both server and gmtime. Though SpreadSheetPlugin does have some of it's own time routines, so maybe not. [20:21]
Babaryeah, no clue how SSP handles time
and pretty sure there are no unit tests
so Lynnwood, if you could test this issue on 1.1.4, that would be great
[20:21]
gac410Actually SpreadSheetPlugin does have tests for the time routines. Probably not very complete though.
FORMATGMTIME FORMATTIME FORMATTIMEDEFF TIME, TIMEADD, TIMEDIFF and WORKINGDAYS all have tests.
Lynnwood: if you have a specific test case, I can try adding it to the unit tests.

yeah same results here on trunk / 1.1.4. So not fixed in 1.1.4
[20:40]

so you think it is foswiki related rather than server?
[20:42]
gac410A fix ... sort of .. .is to use FORMATGMTIME - at least they match then. [20:46]
Lynnwoodwhere do you mean? [20:48]
gac410In your example Replace FORMATTIME with FORMATGMTIME
Okay and the other fix - Set SPREADSHEETPLUGIN_TIMEISLOCAL = 1
[20:48]
BabarDate is assumed to be GMT unless SPREADSHEETPLUGIN_TIMEISLOCAL is set (default 0).
so I'd say yu're just doing it wrong :)
[20:50]
Lynnwoodahh - i'll bet you that is the source of issue [20:51]
gac410# Flag to force the TIME function to convert entered dates to GMT. This will normally cause trouble for users on a server installed the east of Greenwich because dates entered without a time get
converted to the day before and this is usually not what the user intended. Especially the function WORKINGDAYS suffer from this. and it also causes surprises with respect to daylight saving time
[20:51]
Lynnwoodi was looking for some such setting [20:51]

BabarAdd GMT to force Greenwich time zone. Add LOCAL to force the timezone of the server. [20:51]
