[09:08]
CDotCDot fixed the unit test failures he caused, but notes several others he doesn't recognise. At least one looks like a CGI version change?

[09:13]
pharveyMichaelDaum, I'm hoping I can share some screenshots soon of some nifty stuff sciencey soon... dunno if it would help a CeBIT application :) [09:19]
MichaelDaumevery bit helps
though not for the current Call for Projects as I need to finish that *now*
before deadlines end
[09:20]
pharveyHey, SvenDowideit did you know bom.gov.au uses Foswiki?
er, not for anything public-facing it seems
oh, that's all making sense now - probably via arcs
[09:25]
CDotdamn'n'blast - curlftpfs doesn't like subversion. Could it be the '-' signs in the filenames?
CDot is trying to simplify deployment to a hosted site
[09:32]
pharveyCDot, btw - the current AddressTest failure is an expected fail (the new summary at the end of the test output should make that more clear) [09:36]
CDotpharvey: k. I confess I didn't look that closely. So the viewscript is the only "real" fail? And it's not really real..... [09:36]
pharveyyeah. I'm a bit confused... as to when/why it happened. I guess somebody should git bisect that
CDot, really cool seeing the new TML syntax working :)
[09:37]
CDotpharvey: y, though TMCE is causing problems [09:41]
pharveyyeah :/ [09:41]
CDotwhen you indent two adjacent paras, it gets it wrong
CDot gets an extra unwanted <p /> he can't get rid of
[09:41]
pharveyoh, hrmm
CDot: curious how you made the indent feature work in TMCE - did you create a new indent button/logic? my first glance at your code seemed to add/remove a .foswikiIndent class, which I'm sure tmce doesn't know how to do

FoswikiBot[ WebHome ] [09:52]
MichaelDaumjayen, cool. thanks for the links. we realy need a place on foswiki.org to collect them regularly. [09:57]
jayeni did a google search for inurl:system/webhome [09:58]
MichaelDaumyes foswiki _is_ used successfully by quite a few universities out there
basically there are two big user groups: (1) online communities (2) enterprise intranets
both are different market segments and have different requirements for foswiki as a product
they are mostly separate in terms of establishing one or the other user group, as far as I can say.
[09:58]
pharveypharvey occasionally getting inquiries like "how are you doing X" - half of them from Germany :) [10:00]
jayeni started using foswiki to index notes i take. kinosearch was a big plus [10:01]
MichaelDaumfrom a marketing perspective enterprise users are more interesting...whereas the zillions of online foswikis might probably outnumber them in terms of people using it. [10:01]
pharveyjayen, are you still using kino? Or using solr? [10:04]
jayenkino. i gave up on solr [10:05]
pharveywhich aspect of kino is more compelling?
pharvey hopes we can get solr better integrated with core when store2 is done... :)
[10:05]
padraig_lennonHi Guys.. Quick perl regex question which is wrecking my head.. I have a line like the following: $dups_already_alerted .= ",$release_id" unless $dups_already_alerted =~ /$release_id/; But the $release_id contains a hyphen which is causing it to act like a class match.. How does one get around it? Tried using \Q \E etc.. to no avail.. [10:07]
jayeni got solr mostly set up. the only that didn't work was the SolrSearch page [10:08]
pharveyah, that's a fairly important page :) I think it depends on AutoTemplatePlugin. [10:08]
MichaelDaumsolr does fine even in foswiki-1.0.9
no new store needed
[10:09]
pharveyMichaelDaum, would be nice to use the store2 listener API & FoswikI::Access to keep ACLs in sync as per mongo [10:10]
MichaelDaumit does not depend on AutoTemplatePlugin though its optional installation eases integrating it by replacing WebSearch and WebChanges and SiteChanges with appropriate interfaces [10:10]
jayenpharvey, which is installed, but not enabled. [10:10]
MichaelDaumpharvey, I am not as convince about Sven's work as you are. [10:10]
pharveynot convinced it is an acceptable architecture? Or of the implementation?
padraig_lennon: that's odd, I'd have thought \Q\E should do the trick. Tried quotemeta?
MichaelDaum, actually, are you referring to the current svn trunk? Or the store2 github branch?
(or both)
[10:11]
padraig_lennonCome again? Damn just upgraded perl on the prod foswiki and now its giving me "List::Util object version 1.21 does not match bootstrap parameter 1.23_03 at /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8/i386-linux-thread-multi/XSLoader.pm line 94. at /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8/i386-linux-thread-multi/XSLoader.pm line 94"
need to fix this first.. :(
[10:12]
pharveyFoswikiBot: corelist List::Util [10:13]
FoswikiBotpharvey: List::Util was first released with perl 5.007003 (released on 2002-03-05) [10:13]
MichaelDaumpharvey, not convinced conceptually by looking at a worst case scenario (lots of ACLs here and there) [10:13]
pharveylots of *different* acls here and there? anyway - an alternative approach should be possible. If it isn't, the API is broken
after all, ACLProfiles isn't in core - just mongo
[10:14]
MichaelDaumactually I am perfectly happy with the way solr works [10:15]
pharveypadraig_lennon, I guess you already know, but it seems your modules might be older than your perl? [10:16]
padraig_lennonYup.. Trying fix now.. [10:16]
pharveyMichaelDaum, btw - TinyMCE fullscreen in NatEdit. Is there a way we can make this optional somehow? I could add a TINYMCEPLUGIN_DISABLED_MCEPLUGINS pref? Any other ideas? [10:22]
CDotpharvey: I extended the foswiki_buttons to override the default indent behaviour (which just slaps in a style) [10:25]
pharveycool
I'd be happy to help poke the <p/> problem toward the end of the week, if you want
it seems to ring a bell... also, does it do this in all the main browser flavours (chrome/ff/ie)
[10:25]
MichaelDaumhttp://foswiki.org/Community/FoswikiCeBIT2012
pharvey, what exactly do you want to make optional wrt tiny+natedit?
[10:37]
pharveynatedit disables the fullscreen button [10:41]
MichaelDaumMichaelDaum wasnt aware of that ... who disabled it then? [10:42]
pharveyyou did - because it offers no save/cancel buttons in the toolbar
the comment says 'till fixed'
[10:42]
MichaelDaumis that what git blame revealed?
I really cant remember
[10:43]
pharveyno, that's just my memory.. I've had to keep a hack in place for a long time :) [10:43]
MichaelDaumnor would I know how to tinker tiny [10:43]
pharveyyou added some jQuery('#fullscreen').hide() in some init code [10:44]
MichaelDaumah. umpf. [10:44]
pharveyI think the problem was, when we first got the new fullscreen button in Foswiki 1.0.8 or 1.0.9, it confused some users who pressed it by accident and couldn't find their way back to save/cancel [10:45]

pharvey feels like there should be some celebration... TML lumbers forwards slightly :)

MichaelDaumoutdent doesn't work in tiny
it remains gray
[11:11]

MichaelDaumoic [11:12]
pharveySvenDowideit: about to push another store2 merge... I hope you don't mind me trying to use Foswiki::Func::readTopic() instead of the new Store way in (default) plugins - I just want to avoid unnecessary divergence from svn [11:17]

that may explain why it wasn't working on t.f.o :-8

TimHeiligCorrupted content error [23:00]
gac410What version of Foswiki and GenPDFAddOn [23:01]
TimHeiligchecking...
note that the same thing happens in twiki4.2, so I expect it's something that's been around forever
I've run into a couple similar issues with FF7 unrelated to Foswiki
Foswiki 1.1.3
[23:01]
gac410I'm installing GenPDFAddOn now. ... I'll give it a quick try. [23:03]
TimHeiligok thanks [23:03]
pharveyFF7 has a number of problems :/ [23:03]
TimHeiligpharvey: agreed [23:04]
pharveybuggy regex engine, new DOM quirks.. fix in FF8, but how long do we have to be bug-compatible with FF7? :( [23:04]
TimHeiligI think this happens in ff8 too
yes, at least in 8.0.1
[23:05]
gac410hm. Genpdf working fine here - (GenPDFAddOn and Foswiki 1.1.4 , and FF7 [23:05]
TimHeiligwhat engine do you use? [23:05]
pharveyviewfile related? [23:05]
TimHeiligit might be something apache2 is doing with the headers [23:06]
gac410regular CGI, but GenPDF doesn't run under fcgi - iirc [23:06]
TimHeiligno mod_perl? [23:06]
gac410no. [23:06]
TimHeiligmaybe I'll turn off mod_perl and see if it works [23:06]
pharveydoesn't it?
(just curious)
[23:06]
TimHeiligany chance you can post the headers, or e-mail to heilig@yahoo-inc.com? [23:07]
gac410pharvey - last time I tried genpdf it had all sorts of issues under fcgi. [23:07]
TimHeiligI'm in the final push to get us off of twiki once and for all, not going to be sidetracked on this for long (since it's already broken) [23:07]
pharveycool [23:07]
gac410GenPDF has had a lot of changes since twiki. Though iirc, PTh copied the fixes back. [23:08]
TimHeiligI expect there is some header that firefox is now requiring be set, that apache2 + mod_perl2 isn't setting [23:09]
pharveycontent-type?
lib/Foswiki/Contrib/GenPDFAddOn.pm has an interesting shebaning line #!/usr/local/bin/perl -wI.
including the final period
no T
[23:09]
TimHeiligactually I guess I could serve directly via http and see what happens
(the pdf output)
and see if FF chokes on that
I could also try not serving it inline
[23:10]
gac410pharvey - indeed - never noticed that - though I didn't think .pm modules used the shebang. [23:12]
pharveyTimHeilig, I wonder if the wiki is setting an the wrong content-type - what do you see in your headers?
I see there's some code to set Content-Disposition
[23:12]
gac410Here (working) I see: Content-Type: application/pdf; charset=iso-8859-1 Content-disposition: filename=Sandbox_TestTopic7.pdf\r\n
Everything looks pretty normal and acrobat fires off as expected. ... what is your web server I seem to recall some strangeness when running the server on windows.
[23:17]
pharveydoes it make sense for HTTP to specify the pdf charset? You'd think pdf would have its own internal declaration [23:21]
gac410pharvey - I don't know - it's been that way forever.
I pulled down a pdf from acrobat.com. It does not set charset
[23:28]
TimHeiligI'm running apache2 on rhel
but I don't beleive content-type is set
[23:37]
gac410It needs a Content-Type: application/pdf, or the browser won't know to start acrobat. [23:38]
TimHeiligContent-disposition: filename=Main_WebHome.pdf Content-Type: application/pdf %PDF-1.4
so it did set Content-Type
[23:39]
gac410The GenPDFAddOn.pm definitely sets content type. The %PDF-1.4 is the first line of the file. [23:40]
TimHeiligactually it appears firefox isn't parsing the header at all
I expect it's an apache2/mod_perl2 thing
since I've seen it other places
[23:40]
***gac410 sets mode: +o pharvey [23:41]
