gac410pharvey: I see CDot synced trunk TMCE over to 1.1.5 [02:30]
........... (idle for 52mn)
I've made another change to the layout of the Extensions tabs. Maybe it will make it clearer where/how to install, remove, enable, disable, etc.
Please review, feel free to revert.
[03:22]
flexibeastRelated: When i go to the page on f.o from which one can install extensions, the buttons to install / uninstall for each package are off the right-hand side of the screen; i have to scroll such that the package name disappears off the left-hand side in order to select a package. [03:33]
gac410flexibeast: what size display do you use? [03:36]
flexibeastMy laptop has a resolution of 1366x768, but my browser window is probably closer to 800x600. [03:37]
gac410That particular table is not generated by a template. Takes some code digging I suspect. [03:38]
flexibeastIn fact, including the browser chrome, it's currently sized at 900+/600+.
i'm guessing the table width has been hard-coded somewhere.

FoswikiBothttp://foswiki.org/Tasks/Item11553 [ Item11553: Configure Extensions tabs needs some usability help ] [03:41]
gac410I'm afraid someone more familiar with Configure css would have to work on that one.
Looks like the window starts to become scrollable at around 1264 px width.
actually ... 1135 px
[03:43]
penguin359Hmm, looks like LdapNg is saving the jpegBlob as a file under /pub/System/LdapContrib/ [03:49]
flexibeastgac410: An oddly large figure, imho .... [03:49]
penguin359only problem is it's a gibberish filename with no extension so it's returning mime-type is octet-stream.
It views correctly from an <img> tag in Firefox, but I'd like to fix the extension or mime-type.
[03:49]
gac410flexibeast: Most of the css was set to width auto that I could find in the table.
penguin359: how are you fetching the file? viewfile or direct url pub/...
[03:50]
penguin359I am using %LDAP{"..." format="...src='$jpegPhoto'...}%
It's filing in the URL to the blob it saved from LDAP.
[03:52]
flexibeastgac410: Hmm, so i assume something /within/ the table is forcing that width then .... [03:53]
penguin359I could use mod_mime_magic I suppose. [03:53]
gac410Okay -- so it saves the blob and generates a url to the attachment ... yes the server magic should set the type in that situation. [03:53]
penguin359gac410: so, yes, the browser will be directly fetching the file. [03:53]
gac410flexibeast: That's my assumption. [03:53]
flexibeast*goes to take a look* [03:54]
gac410penguin359: right. And actually from what I've been able to gather, browsers generally will ignore the mime type and do their own magic on the contents. [03:54]
penguin359gac410: As long as I use it through the <img> tag, if I directly open the file's URL in Firefox, it will ask be to save instead of preview. [03:55]
gac410flexibeast the table is fetched using the topic Extensions.FastReport [03:56]
flexibeastHm, looks like the width of the "Compatible With" column is the main issue .... [03:58]
Where's the code for the Extension installer? Plugins.pm? [04:08]
gac410It's in lib/Foswiki/Configure/UIs/EXTENSIONS.pm
Configure is completely self-contained under lib/Foswiki/Configure including all templates, css, etc.
[04:10]
flexibeastAh okay, thanks.
Hm, so the table is created via CGI::Tr.
[04:11]
gac410and mostly controlled by css I believe [04:14]

i've added a line to styles.css
In the rule for table.configureExtensionsTable td.configureExtensionData
specifying "width: 20em;"
But although Chromium is showing that as a matched rule, it's visibly not changed.

penguin359Hmm, is it normal for LdapContrib to not show up in the list of plugins to enable?
It appears to be located under Foswiki::Contrib instead of Foswiki::Plugins.
[05:02]
FoswikiBothttp://trunk.foswiki.org/System/PerlDoc?module=Foswiki::Contrib http://trunk.foswiki.org/System/PerlDoc?module=Foswiki::Plugins [05:03]
gac410Yes. thats correct.
Plugins install code into the rendering like macro definitions, etc. They are loaded and processed for each web transaction.
Contribs add optional modules that can be configured for use, like Login managers, etc.
So you would enable a Contrib by choosing a Mapping Manger, or Password manager, etc.

Babarit can't.

gac410yeah - I was completely mystified. Strange that it just worked here. That's why I added the line-numbered print for the plugin code that was dynamicaly compiled.
trying to figure out which line was actually failing.
Yeah. CDot: synced his taint errors from trunk to release11
Insecure dependency in open while running with -T switch at /var/www/foswiki/trunk/core/lib/Foswiki/Configure/Checkers/Htpasswd/FileName.pm line 30.
Change the .htpasswd file name or location of the file and save the configuraitno.

gac410bah ... that doesn't work right. I'll probably have to revert. :-( [17:21]

I've got one strange issue with the SafeEnvPath. Initial guess seems to work fine. But if you click the "use default" button, the field is blanked out. The checker will detect that and guess a valid value again, but it doesn't get detected as a changed setting.
So you have to save twice to get back to a valid SafeEnvPath

Babarcome on bot... haven't said that one lately, have you?
ah, thx
[17:54]
gac410Is there any good way to test if perl will throw an "Insecure" error with the value of SafeEnvPath ... and refuse to apply it to LocalSite.cfg? [17:55]
Babaryou can tain it, if that's what you mean [17:55]
gac410If I enter ~user/bin into the SafeEnvPath, it gets saved, and then configure dies.
Since ~userdir is considered insecure. Trying to figure if there is an easy way to shield the feet from the bullets.
Like doing a 'eval' of the new value and refusing it if it will cause errors when saved.
