kip3fHi, is there a place that I can download the latest 1.1? Or is the release build process totally manual
I'd like to test in an env. that I can't access SVN
testing latest 1.1.5 pre will be a lot more fun then debugging 1.1.2
and more useful
[00:24]
found http://fosiki.com/Foswiki_Release01x01/ [00:36]
..... (idle for 22mn)
gac410kip3f: The Beta releases were never made public. So only from SVN. However I'm working on building RC1 which will be uploaded as a public release
SvenDowideit: I upgraded my windows system to latest Strawberry 5.14.2 and installed RC1 into a new install. Also installed extension ... everything seems clean.
[00:58]
kip3fhi gac410, I downloaded auto14402
14409
is that pretty close to what you will release as 1.1.5?
I just want to test with it
[00:59]
gac410oh yeay... I forgot about the auto builds. Yup shuld be very close. I think I'm going to make one minor windows related fix. A missing dep is reported as an error even if the configuration doesn't need it. [01:01]
kip3fhrm ok, well I'm testing on windows anyway :-) [01:02]
..... (idle for 20mn)
gac410kip3f: Actually not changing anything. The warning is more severe than Is really necessary, but no sense making last minute changes. [01:22]
kip3fOK I'm going thru a LocalSite.cfg diff right now.
RCS ExtOption was not set to -x,v
I accessed /bin/configure, and saved the default options that it gave me
before I did my diff vs. 1.1.2
wait hold on, I'm a bit confused
the web page is inconsitent with LocalSite.cfg
ah I see, it was automatically set the *second* time that I saved
along with Email MailMethod = Net::SMTP and Site CharSet = iso 8859-1
[01:24]
gac410yeah unfortunately some of the settings require a 2nd save.
The first one only establishes the paths.
[01:40]
kip3fhey one thing that's nice, is that 1.1.5 configure works in IE8. They just upgraded our web browsers, and 1.1.2 configure stopped working. [01:43]
gac410ah excellent. (Not sure what we changed though...) [01:44]
kip3fI get two errors in Extensions - SlideShowPlugin and EditTablePlugin enabled in LocalSite.cfg but not found in path. I confirm that I don't see those plugins in lib\Foswiki\Plugins [01:53]

flexibeastIs there already some macro-based way of extracting components from a web.subweb.topic path? If not, is that something that could be in core? [02:50]
gac410Everyone, Foswiki 1.1.5-RC1 is available at Foswiki:Download/FoswikiRelease01x01x05RC1 I'm still editing details about the download, and I have not yet built the upgrade packages. [02:55]

[03:36]
kip3fno i'm just trying to create a new topic using a template topic with a dataform attached [03:37]

kip3fI don't know how it could have come into play [03:39]

flexibeastSvenDowideit: Sounds good; do you have a link? [03:45]

gac410flexibeast: Take a look at Foswiki:System/VarFORMAT. It can do some processing of a web/subweb/topic I believe [04:01]
FoswikiBothttp://foswiki.org/System/VarFORMAT. [04:01]
flexibeastgac410: Thanks, checking that out now. [04:02]
gac410Although it works with a list of topics, you could probably pass it a "list of one" to operate on a single web/topic [04:03]
flexibeast*nod* [04:09]
kip3faha. I was using a hidden input with web = %WEB% and it was causing pushTopicContext() to be called with no web set [04:10]
flexibeastThis is /almost/ what i had been looking for, but not quite, because $web becomes Web/SubWeb rather than Web.SubWeb - any way around that? [04:10]
kip3fI changed it so that the form submitted to %SCRIPTURL{"save"}%/%WEB% and now it seems to work [04:10]
gac410flexibeast: no. The / is the web separator, dot is the web - topic separator. Maybe use spreadsheet plugin to replace / with . but
it would not be usable as a foswiki topic specifier.
[04:11]
flexibeastBut, i've been having precisely the opposite problem: [04:12]
gac410Whats the problem? [04:13]
flexibeastWeb/Subweb.Topic is not autolinked, Web.SubWeb.Topic is. [04:13]
gac410hm. That doesn't seem right. [04:13]
flexibeastActually, just tried it in Sandbox - /neither/ autolinks. [04:14]
kip3fwell gotta go .... I'll mess around with the bug later. [04:15]
gac410Something strange.... works for me. [04:15]
***kip3f has left [04:15]
flexibeastgac410: As in, outside of [[Web.Topic][Displaytext]] format? (Is that format what 'squabbed' in unit tests refers to?) [04:16]
gac410I have a web Sandbox/Another I entered Sandbox/Another.WebHome It linked fine.
yes --- squab is someones abbreviation for square bracket
[04:16]
flexibeastAh, of course. :-)
But, yeah, neither format is autolinking for me.
Odd.
[04:18]
gac410flexibeast: See http://foswiki.org/Sandbox/TestAutoLinkSubweb
Do you have autolinks disabled somewhere? Set NOAUTOLINK = 1
Ah... interesting. It links correctly but doesn't include the topic name in the rendered link.
Okay .. nope - it's working. For a "WebHome" link it renders the Web/Subweb name. For a topic, it renders the Topic name.
[04:20]
flexibeastYes, just noticed that as i was trying to parse why it works there and not on my install. :-) That's groovy functionality, wish i could work out why that's not happening for me .... didn't realise it was /supposed/ to work that way, and have been spending many hours trying to work around the fact it doesn't. - If NOAUTOLINK is enabled, would that mean /all/ autolinking is enabled? [04:24]
gac410Yes. It could be set in a SitePrefs. WebPrefs, or your User topic, or individual topics.
<noautolink> blocks are used to disable it for a block of text. the * Set NOAUTOLINK turns it off much more widely.
[04:24]
flexibeastWell, on this Sandbox topic page
i've put:
%FORMAT{"Org.Training.WebHome" format="$web.WebHome and $topic"}%
Hm, hang on.
[04:26]
gac410flexibeast: I've got to go - well past midnight. Sleep time. g'night [04:27]

....................... (idle for 1h52mn)
kip3fSvenDowideit CDot: I can think of a simple way to make edit row plugin do what you want (multiline %EDITTABLE%). What do you think of this approach: 1. define %EDITTABLE% as a normal registered tag handler, that returns %EDITTABLE_xyzzy%{... same args }%. 2. change the commonTagsHandler, etc. to operate on this new macro.
I don't know if it would work, but it was just an idea.
[07:59]
.... (idle for 18mn)
CDotkip3f: I don't think that would work. The plugins work on the topic source *before* any macro expansion. To work on the EDITTABLE tag would require you to process that macro selectively (ignoring all other macros)
this is why I made that comment about making the macro parser re-entract; so I could use it to process that one macro in isolation.
BTW the reason it works on the source is that a macro can generate a table; and editing a table that was generated by a macro - e.g. a SEARCH - doesn't make sense
[08:17]
kip3fabout a year ago, I was trying to use %EDITTABLE% and have different column types for different columns. I.e. a column would be a select for one user group, and a label for another.
I couldn't get it to work at the time
but I suspect that it is related to what you are saying here.

Babargreat... it seems I broke BuildContrib... [17:40]
gac410:P At least I got 1.1.5RC1 built first ... or is that broken? [17:40]
Babarwhat's funny is that the nightly build run much longer than I do
dunno. nightly is broken, and I can't build either
[17:41]
gac410hm. 1.1.5 built fine last night. [17:41]
Babar(and I'm talking about trunk, not Release) [17:41]
gac410oh... okay
Ah CDot .... just who I was looking for.
[17:41]
Babarwhich reminds me... I was supposed to pull my changes into the release branch :) [17:42]
gac410gac410 puts on his nasty release manager aka slave driver hat!
CDot - please when syncing a plugin from Trunk to Release ... All the waiting for release tasks in trunk need to have their target info updated. Need to bump version, update Rev history, etc.
Trying to figure out what was picked up in the TMCE sync has been painful ... much of my time today comparing commit logs, etc. :(
And we have a new blocker for 1.1.5 - TMCE emits the new 1.2 : indented paragraph markup on 1.1.5
[17:42]
CDotCDot has no idea what he did wrong
hum, it's not supposed to; it's designed to sense whether the Foswiki supports that syntax, and not generate it if it doesn't
[17:44]
gac410Lots of stuff was fixed on trunk, "Waiting for Release" 1.2 ... but sync to Release11 branch means they have to be updated or are missed in the 1.1.5 release notes. [17:45]
CDotbut what has been synced? /me isn't aware of having synced anything recently [17:46]
gac410I think you synced TMCE from trunk to 1.1 right? A week or so ago. /me looks [17:47]
CDoty, paul said it was ok/expected [17:47]
gac410Foswikirev:14269 [17:47]
FoswikiBothttp://trac.foswiki.org/changeset/14269 [17:48]
CDotoic - you mean there were other fixes that were marked 1.2 but became 1.1.5 as a result of the sync?
CDot hadn't thought of that
[17:48]
gac410right. So I've been comparing commit logs trying to figure out how far back that goes. [17:48]
CDotI would have to do the same; I didn't know they had diverged, until I started trying to check a fix into both [17:49]
gac410There were also a few that were still "being worked on" with a note saying they need to be synced to 1.1.5.
Been a fun day so far :P
[17:49]
CDotgood grief.... sorry, I had no idea. [17:50]
gac410np. Just have to be a curmudgeon once in a while or I'll loose my RM status. Isn't that a job requirement? Lavr does it so well. :D
Went through the same thing with 1.1.4 - except it was JQueryPlugin that had all the "Sync to Release" commits that tell me nothing about what really happened.
So I got to be all curmudgeonly on Micha instead. :)
Now that pharvey's pseudo-install fixes can install a trunk extension on release branch, I'd like to propose removing the release branch UnitTestContrib. Maybe some others too.
Or maybe do that when we branch 1.2
gac410 will make a proposal
[17:51]
CDotCDot has never liked the idea of branching plugins onto the release branches; it just creates overhead IMHO [17:56]
gac410CDot ... now I have to apologize. On f.o, tmce does not emit the indent markup. Must be an issue with my local pseudo-install. [17:56]
CDotso, are we up-to-date on TMCE/WysiwygPlugin? Or is there more needing done?
phew
CDot was just starting to look at that :-)
[17:56]
gac410I think we are up to date. Though there is a "corrupted table" release blocker that pharvey wanted to get fixed. [17:57]
Item11312 was the task pharvey thought was really important to fix for 1.1.5 [18:04]
FoswikiBothttp://foswiki.org/Tasks/Item11312 [ Item11312: TinyMCE Corrupting HTML Tables ] [18:04]
CDotargh, newlines again.... /me is keeping his distance from that with a fourteen-foot cattle prod [18:05]
gac410Also review Item11214 - It's a 1.2 release blocker which might be a 1.1.5 one now that TMCE is synced over. [18:05]
FoswikiBothttp://foswiki.org/Tasks/Item11214 [ Item11214: can't create link to image ] [18:05]
gac410Hm... that one should not block 1.1.5 IMO it's a new feature??? [18:06]
CDotno idea.... it's a new one to me [18:07]
gac410Just trying to make sure we have not moved other tasks into 1.1.5 during the sync.
I think it looks pretty good though.
Oh.... I added the "remove from group" code to AntiWikiSpamPlugin .... but wondering if that should be configurable. On sites with very large numbers of groups, it could be significant overhead.
I'm guessing the "Auto add user to groups" code would be one reason it's needed.
[18:08]

saucecan i please bring attention to "checkPassword in LdapPasswdUser is not called" http://foswiki.org/Support/Question1058 [18:41]
gac410sause, I don't think it's supposed to call checkPassword. It does the "check" by trying to connect to LDAP. If the bind is successful, then the password is valid.
return $this->{ldap}->connect($dn, $passU)
[18:45]
sauceok cool, the guy who made that thread seemed to have a good idea, guess not [18:48]
gac410Ldap is a bit strange that way. Since the password is encrypted, the way to check the password is to try to bind against Ldap. [18:49]
sauceyeah i could understand that. btw when i say i can successfully bind, i am saying that i can bind with the {BindDN} and {BindPassword}. this is required BEFORE you even query the directory about the user who is trying to log in
same thing for the author of that thread
some apps i see don't need a BindDN/BindPassword, they just use the credentials of the user trying to log in
which would be sufficient
[18:51]
gac410right. It depends upon what type of access you want against ldap. LdapContrib I guess binds because it can do other queries. Though some of that is also handled by LdapNgPlugin [18:53]
saucesee, you do know about ldap [18:55]
gac410bits and pieces. I don't have any resources here to test with ... It's been 3 years since I touched it. [18:56]
saucei've never met a true ldap expert
i don't think one exists
[18:56]
gac410:) [18:57]
CDotItem11666 fixed [19:06]
FoswikiBothttp://foswiki.org/Tasks/Item11666 [ Item11666: looks like the defaulting of checkboxes in dataforms is broken (at least it is not doing what the docco says) ] [19:06]
sauceoh crap. i did something and now foswiki is querying every user in the database and caching it [19:08]
CDotCDot goes to make a lamb curry. Mmmm-mmmmm :-) [19:08]
saucei say "oh crap" cause there is 10,000 users in this directory. but its actually a good sign, it wasn't doing this before [19:08]
gac410yes. That's correct. LdapContrib does cache the users iirc. I think there is a way to turn it off. [19:09]
sauceyep {Ldap}{Precache}
i'll disable it before i start getting phone calls from the AD monkies
[19:10]

harlanHey, if I want to access a topic under a web on an interwiki site, can I do that, or do I have to create a web-specific interwiki site?
I tried Site:Web/TopicName but that doesn't seem to work.
[23:36]
Got it - I missed the chagnes to Main.WhateverPreferences to extend the location of interwiki definitions. [23:44]
ArthurClemensdo we have a list of companies that use Foswiki?
I only found http://foswiki.org/About/ExampleSites (public sites) and http://foswiki.org/Community/CompaniesAreUpgradingToFoswiki (at some point in the past migrating)
