WhoWhatWhen
pharveyb00 [02:38]
gac410howdy pharvey. It always seems most quiet here on Friday nights.
or is that Saturday mornings for you?
[02:39]
pharveyhave you done much WYSIWYG testing? I'm going to do IE8, not sure I have time to do much more today :( Adding the releaseblocker as a unit test atm.
saturday lunchtime :)
[02:39]
gac410I really don't do much with wysiwyg, other than occasional use. And I've not made headway / or had motivation to get Selenium tests running. [02:40]
pharveyselenium tests are broken atm anyway
I got some way to resurrecting them last weekend, but then I decided I didn't like the way CDot had done the new spinner.gif animation :)
[02:41]
gac410That newline eating issue in tables though is ugly. Can't figure out why extra white space would break a html table
With NatEdit it seems to be a big black in your face box saying to please wait or something like that ... thought it was pretty ugly but it does get ones attention.
[02:42]
pharveyactually, NatEdit is totally b0rked with the new WYSIWYG :(
you can't transition back from raw edit.
[02:46]
gac410did you see the discussion that FF 11 breaks TMCE if a page has more than one editor instance.
FF response is to upgrade to the latest tmce beta.
gac410 was wondering if it would be worth trying to treat tmce like jquery - allow configure to choose amongst available versions.

harlanAnybody here tried to use the BugzillaLinkPlugin under FW, or know if there is anything similar for RT? [05:47]
.................... (idle for 1h36mn)
pharveystupid plumbing
I just spent 3 hours drying carpets with towels
[07:23]
harlanugh. [07:27]
pharveyharlan, could BugzillaLinkPlugin be replaced with some parameterized preference variables? [07:30]
harlanThat would be swell - I have not looked at how it does what it does for a long time.
I'm also real interested in having the ability to query more than one "issue" database from this, eg: %BUG{NTP:22}% (which would look up bug #22 in the NTP issue tracking system).
For backward compatibility, the original method, %BUG{22}% would work (and it would use the bug database that was configured)
I want this to work with bugzilla, RT, and (whatever sourceforge uses).
[07:38]
pharveyI'd probably use SemanticLinksPlugin to do it, but that's because I wrote it :P
The nifty part is you can QuerySearch for links.
The only hassle is that links would look like [[NTPBug::1234]]
So I guess it depends on how attached to %MACRO syntax you are.
[07:45]
harlanI am not attached to the syntax. Especially if there is a way I can get a shim plugin that would convert %BUG{1234}% to [[NTPBug::1234]] [07:50]
pharveyharlan: you might do * Set BUG = [[http://some.bugzilla.server/foo/bar/%DEFAULT%]] - which would generate a link for UG{1234}%
we snuck this feature into Foswiki 1.1.4 IIRC, http://foswiki.org/System/PreferenceSettings#Parameters
[07:58]
harlanCan we get the little bug icon there too? :)
I'll copy/paste this into our notes, thanks pharvey!
[07:59]
pharveysure, you can make the Set statement as long and tedious as you like :) [08:00]

LavrHi guys. Stress period on hold. I have vacation all of April [11:07]
Babarcool. So you can help gac410 with Monday's release :) [11:10]
LavrYeah. Now I finally have some time [11:11]
CDotMichaelDaum: I thought George wanted to do it on Monday? [11:21]
MichaelDaumCDot, that's fine. Better than today on a weekend. [11:23]
CDotCDot may be wrong, but that was the impression he gave
CDot has boosted the coverage of the store tests up to >90% and found a couple of problemettes.....
thank goodness for unit tests!
[11:23]
pharveyw00t :)
MichaelDaum: I feel that George wanted to do it Monday too

SvenDowideitLavr,
man motion:
-s Run in setup mode. Also forces non-daemon mode
but it then doesn't say wtf setupmode is!
SvenDowideit mavels at the magic
mmm, its telling me its opened port 8080 and 8081, but my web browser sees nothin
boooo
SvenDowideit goes :) i recon my usb camera is toast too :)
[12:04]
LavrThe motion guide on the web is the best way to read how it all works
http://lavrsen.dk/foswiki/bin/view/Motion/MotionGuide
IE cannot show an mjpeg steam. Use Firefox for that. IE requires a java applet
[12:14]
SvenDowideitLavr, harumpf :)
just a few more lines in the man page would be great - assuming that my HW wasn't dead
turnes out my server is in much worse shape than i thought
its been throttling the cpu constatnly due to heat
for er, about 4 years now
and due to budget issues, will have to do so for quite a few more months :)
[12:21]
CDotSvenDowideit: sell a child, free up some capital [12:27]
SvenDowideitmumble.
that suggestion was blocked by the board of dirctors
board of dictators?
[12:27]
CDotdoters? [12:40]
............... (idle for 1h10mn)
SvenDowideitwell.
i'm impressed.
I just checked out only foswiki/core
set up apache and ran configure
i now have a functioning foswiki with zero plugins / skins / contribs
and it runs.
there was only one cfg bug - it assumes TopicUserMappingContrib is there - but manually chaning that to base mapper and view works.
[13:50]
kip3fHi Sven. That's nifty [13:53]
SvenDowideittis
though there are bugs all over the place
i should really BM it vs a pre-patternskin twiki
but i won't :)
[13:54]
pharveyhi gac410 - I still haven't addressed that wysiwyg bug. [14:07]
gac410np. I'm not going to get to the build today or tomorrow, so still have until Monday ;) [14:07]
pharveyI had a plumbing emergency. Carpets soaked. Among other things
cool :)
time to sleep

...................... (idle for 1h48mn)
LavrHi gac410. In am on vacation now. After the most horrible stress period
Should I look at the bug list and release note like last release? Sorting bugs from enhancements?
[15:56]
.............. (idle for 1h6mn)
CDotLavr: that would be a huge help; triage is always welcome [17:03]

Babaryou talked about it several times, but I doubt you ever implemetned anything :p [22:14]

but now i can't find it

astra05astra05 is trying to perform magic to ressurect his foswiki
so do any of you run it on windows and have a good way to automate backups? i am not much a windoze admin
[23:17]
OliverKruegerastra05: just use "copy" on the command line or any file manager to backup the /foswiki directory.
no dbms -> everything is a plain file.
[23:21]
astra05yeah but like
no cron or tar
[23:25]
OliverKruegerwindows backup software usually register a "service" to trigger backups. [23:26]
astra05i wish they would have put rhel on the requuisition form as I had asked [23:27]
OliverKruegerStart > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Scheduled Tasks [23:27]
astra05so i am having another error i was wondering if you could help with [23:27]
OliverKruegerI need a few details... ;) [23:28]
astra05OliverKrueger: [Sat Mar 31 18:19:58 2012] [error] [client ipaddress] (OS 2)The system cannot find the file specified. : couldn't create child process: 720002: view, referer: http://url.com/foswiki/bin/view/Main/WebHome?validation_key=80d10fd37e740ab66fc6f69aaaaf0735 is that apache, perl or foswiki? [23:30]
OliverKruegerIs that an apache log line?

[23:31]
astra05error_log
yaw let me scrub them
and pastebin
OliverKrueger: http://pastebin.com/S8LPHbYg
[23:32]
OliverKruegernever seen that before.
I guess, you already googled the error message?!
[23:36]
astra05yaw, it is specific to a calendar plugin
ObjectCalendar
that uses ajax blah blah
i dunno, someone broke it today when i got in
and i was thinking this was my perfect opp to move to mediawiki
astra05 ducks
but i am going to try and get this working
just not familiar with apache on windows
or doing anything production on windows
[23:37]
OliverKruegerI try to avoid windows whereever I can. [23:39]
astra05me too [23:39]
OliverKruegerSo, you better ask somebody else here, who has more windows experience. [23:39]
astra05actually, this project has made me like foswiki
at my last job, i wanted to burn it cause they hacked into awfulness
[23:39]
