WhoWhatWhen
jomoYES!!! finally The unicode_eval feature causes eval $string to treat the string always as Unicode. [00:01]

jomothis is probably important for FW: "Starting with v5.20, it is planned to require a literal "{" to be escaped, for example by preceding it with a backslash. In v5.18, a deprecated warning message will be emitted for all such uses. " [00:17]
gac410in regular expressions, or in all strings [00:18]
jomoin regex [00:18]
gac410I'm surprised that is't not already required. As it's needed for {1,2} occurrence matching. [00:19]
.... (idle for 15mn)
cool - Wysiwyg unit tests run okay on 5.16 too. [00:34]
jomocongratz!! ;)
for 1.1.5 release or trunk?
[00:34]
gac410well wysiwyg currently is identical 1.1.5+ and trunk. Only ran wysiwyg Debating if I want to do another release of Wysiwyg to deal with the perl 5.8.8 issue, or wait a day or two to see if any other issues pop up.
I have a fix for your BlaBla_BlaBla linking issues too. But that one will have to wait for 1.2. I might do a feature proposal too since it's changing render behavior.
I'd love to fix the <some tag>WikiWord escaping linking of wikiwords, since only <nop> is supposed to do that. But I have struck out coming up with a simple regex
[00:36]
jomothats ok - can live with it… ;)
nice to know that wysiswyg working - because, for example when running TopicInteractionPlugin with utf8 on 1.1.5 = its working ok, but not in trunk...
[00:39]
gac410Regex doesn't have an "and", just or. :( I need a lookbehind that matches ^ or [\s(] or > when not preceeded by nop [00:41]
jomoagain one (probably) double encoding problem - this is the only reason (what i know) why im running 1.1.5 and not trunk.. [00:42]
gac410utf8 definitely not my forte. Need to check in with Crawford (CDot). [00:42]
jomook - im happy than unit tests works.. ;)
i know some regex, but those multi-line extended regexes with look-somewhere - never understand fully :P
[00:43]
gac410yeah. I worked on it for an hour or so last night. Never came up with one that works. Unfortunately lookbehind cannot be variable length . [00:45]
jomojomo frequently uses YAPE::Regex::Explain [00:47]
gac410My other thought was to replace all <nop> with a hex code, and then convert back. But that's bogus, since the STARTWW delimiter is used all over the place [00:47]
jomothe main problem is (IMO) than some things (for example HTML) is impossible parse with regex…
funny topic here: http://stackoverflow.com/a/1732454/632407 :)
[00:49]
gac410:) yes indeed. Luckily we are not really parsing html, we are parsing TML, but trying to pull out an occasional interspersed tag. [00:54]
jomoi'm not and computer-languages expert, but the nested %macro constructions looks like chomsky type 2 grammar.. but i;m can be wrong.. [00:58]
gac410render and render-like code in Wysiwyg TML2HTML use a combination of loops and regexes to accomplish the work. It uses regexes to pick out well defined pieces, and uses loops for other parts.
anyway, I'm so many years away from language analysis and structures, i'm pretty clueless.

Victor__How do I restrict access to the system web for non registered users? [09:27]
gmcVictor__: you can deny access to the system web for WikiGuest
eg
* Set DENYWEBVIEW = WikiGuest
in the System/WebPreferences topic
[09:31]
Victor__I've tried that line but then I get the following messages: No permission to view System.WebTopBarExample, No permission to view System.WebLeftBarWebsList, and No permission to view System.WebBottomBarExample.
gmc: How do I avoid that?
[09:33]
gmcwell, that's what you wanted, right?
but if you want certain topics within the web to be accesible to non-registered users, you could set ALLOWVIEW = WikiGuest .. not sure if that would work though
ALLOWTOPICVIEW i mean
[09:34]
Victor__gmc: But when using DENYWEBVIEW for the system web, I also deny access to all other webs than Main. [09:36]
gmcwell, you deny access to all topics in System, yes..
but those topics you mentioned are used in the default skin elements
[09:37]
Victor__gmc: Could you explain that last thing a bit further? [09:37]
gmcthe default foswiki skin includes System.WebLeftBar for example, to build up the WebleftBar (the navigation on the left)
so if you deny xx for unregistered users to the System web, they will get perm denied on the webleftbar
[09:39]
Victor__gmc: Can I create my own WebLeftBar with items that I want? If yes, do I make that in the file system then? [09:43]
gmcyes you can..
if iirc you can create a topic WebLeftBar in any web, that will then override the default WebLeftBar
also, in Main/WebLeftBar is the default WebLeftBar as topic WebLeftBarExample
you'll see the references to %SYSTEMWEB% in that topic
see also http://foswiki.org/System/PatternSkin
[09:46]
Victor__gmc: Thanks I'll try that. You don't happen to have worked with the GoUptoToc extension? [09:53]
gmchmm no, first time i hear about it :) [10:05]

AlexisHazellHm. How do i change which page the 'Foswiki' breadcrumb points to? i thought it might have been via WIKIHOMEURL, but apparently not. [11:28]
ArthurClemensdanieru: System.UserRegistration only contains a conditional INCLUDE. It includes Main.UserRegistration if it exists, else it includes System.DefaultUserRegistration
AlexisHazell: it is defined in a template: [[%USERSWEB%.%HOMETOPIC%][%WIKITOOLNAME%]]
I agree that it would make sense to let it point to WIKIHOMEURL

jastany idea where I should look first when the list of topics in WebChanges doesn't update anymore?
interestingly Sandbox.WebHome does pick up changes but Sandbox.WebChanges doesn't

actually the issue has been taken over by someone else now, as it appears there might be a plugin or two involved in this. thanks for your time, though!

LynnwoodMorning all. I've noticed across a number of sites that periodically the strikeone code seems to have a false positive. That is, when saving a topic I get the warning message and am then redirected to login screen - when none of the suspicious conditions were met. I looked a while back at support and tasks and don't see this mentioned, but it seems to be fairly common. Has anyone else run into this? [14:14]
gac410The strikeone cookie only has limited valid time. Could it be that the time expired? [14:15]
padraig_lennongac410 - How do I install WysiwygPlugin from the test extensions web? [14:19]
Lynnwoodgac410: that sounds like a likely culprit [14:20]
gac410padraig_lennon: in bin/configure there is an expert setting for the repo that it uses. It's near the button that opens the list of extensions. [14:20]
Lynnwoodbut it seems like it's hit me after only 5 minutes or so of editing... [14:20]
gac410Lynnwood: that seems low. hm. [14:20]
padraig_lennonok. Will I leave it for a while so? [14:20]
Lynnwoodi'm monitor that and see if it fits pattern.
do you know how long the time limit is?
And if that is the case, perhaps a nice enhancement would be a warning pop-up with option to extend time.
[14:21]
gac410padraig_lennon: Setting is something like SITE=(url to web, url to attachments) or something like that. I usually edit it, insert /Testing/ after the Extensions in both places, save, install, and then revert. [14:22]
padraig_lennonNo I meant if you have already found issues with the plugin will I avoid installing it here? [14:23]
gac410padraig_lennon: nobody has reported anything else. It's on foswiki.org if you want to test. Unit tests all pass on 5.8.8 (and 5.16.0 too) [14:23]

gac410yw.
i'm not sure what happens if the same page is open on two tabs, if that could reset anything. Another thing to check.

ArthurClemensI get the strikeone warning when the user is redirected by single sign on, and then edits or attaches [14:28]
padraig_lennonok. Will let you know.. [14:28]
gac410Ah yeah. if redirects are involved, all sorts of stuff goes wrong. [14:29]
ArthurClemensPerhaps I can encounter it in the login manager [14:31]
gac410padraig_lennon: The instructions on the banner at the top of the Extensions/Testing.WysiwygPlugin page show how to add Testing to the list of repositories. I prefer to replace the single repo with testing. It avoids accidentally forgetting about it and installing things from testing inadvertently in the future
Lynnwood: a really common error with Forms giving a strikeone, is if the post is redirecting from a longer url to a shorter url.
[14:31]
Lynnwoodvery interesting... [14:33]
gac410hm. that doesn't sound quite right though. [14:34]
LynnwoodYou are saying that if the redirectto value submitted with a form points to a simple web.topic value, but the submitting form included lots of params, then this would trigger a strikeone error?
that doesn't sound quite right
[14:35]
gac410nvm... that's unrelated. the redirect of post causes a "get denied for blah" error
I'm mixing up things. Sorry about that.
