dj_segfaultHi. The other day I was talking here about creating the .txt files outside the wiki using a program, and I was told that wouldn't be a problem, though there might be some issues if you overwrite an existing file as rcs tries to figure out the file versions. I have a very large page (about 500K) that I generated from my script. It loaded fine the first time, but after updating it by copying over a newer version, when
I think I was talking to gac410, so it looks like I'm about 10 minutes too late ;)

danierugreetings all! I'm trying to get the X509UserPlugin working. I *believe* I have everything setup correctly, but I'm unclear on what behavior I should see on the UserRegistration page if I have it all setup right. I'm only seeing things like '%X509{' in the fields. Is that correct or should the fields be populated by values from my certificate?
it seems the user is supposed to populate the fields, but I thought the values were supposed to be pulled from the cert?

bruce_wayneHello everybody!
I have a new question
can anybody tell me, how i can remove the link in common words, which are automaticly created (with an questionsmark next to the word and a link, which is called "Create this Topic)?
[06:19]
okay, better question: how i can remove WikiWords?
disable wikiwords
okay, i disable it ;)
[06:26]
harlanbruce_wayne: for the rare cases where you do not want a word to be auto-linked, put a ! in front of it.
Does FW offer something like "su"? I have a user who apparently cannot edit a topic and I don't see why they would be having that problem.
[06:35]
bruce_waynethank you :) [06:42]
harlannp
(I was not around earlier or I would have answered sooner)
[06:42]
Babarharlan: yes, there is sudo login. Can't remember from the top of my head how to activate it though :(
SvenDowideit: how do you use sudo again? You coded it, you should know :)
[06:45]
harlanI'm not seeing anything when I search for "become" or "sudo"
or "impersonate"
[06:47]
Babarright. Can't find it either
but I know it exists :)
[06:53]
danieruhas anyone here that can comment on expected behavior of the X509UserPlugin UserRegistration page? [07:06]

jasthmm. I just made a plugin (with BuildContrib) that copies a few files during POSTINSTALL. works fine if I install the plugin from the console; gives me an error message in File/Spec.pm when I install it from /bin/configure. any ideas on where to look first?
here's the postinstall code: http://paste.debian.net/178748/
the error is: Use of uninitialized value $_[0] in join or string at /usr/lib/perl/5.14/File/Spec/Unix.pm line 41.

foswiki_irc2hello people :) I'm having some trouble: when enabling DBCachePlugin, text like "ABC#10" is rendered as "ABC". If I type in "AB#10" or smth like "ABC##10" it's wotking correctly. Any ideas? [13:33]

foswiki_irc6Hello there!
I have a problem with a fresh installation of foswiki. The configure page shows no errors, but when I continute to the other pages after it, they are not displayed properly.
The images are not showing and the macros are not expanded - they are in plain text.
Could anyone point me to where the problem might be?
[18:04]
gac410Is the page styled at all? left bar, top bar, etc. or is it more like simple html. You might have a problem with either the pub path in configure, or with apache being able to serve things like css, javascript and images.
Not sure about the Macros not expanding. That's strange. Any errors if you visit the System/InstalledPlugins page?
[18:07]
foswiki_irc6I would say its more like simple html
No, no errors
[18:07]
gac410So probably a pub issue. What is your $Foswiki::cfg{PubUrlPath} set to? (In configure in the paths page. [18:08]
foswiki_irc6I am not at the computer where I have it installed, so cant check, but I am sure I checked the paths [18:11]
gac410And see if you can access a pub file directly. If PubUrlPath is set to /pub then see if you can access yoursite.com/pub/System/PatternSkinCss/CSS_element_layout_view.pattern.tmpl.png
For example: http://foswiki.org/pub/System/PatternSkinCss/CSS_element_layout_view.pattern.tmpl.png
[18:11]
foswiki_irc6I think i did that and it worked [18:12]
gac410Can you look at the server log and see if there are any 404 messages [18:12]
foswiki_irc6none [18:12]
gac410Is your site public? or behind a firewall [18:12]
foswiki_irc6its behind a company's proxy [18:13]
gac410Navigat to a page that is not displaying correctly Main/WebHome for ex. Then display the page source. Look for a <script ... src="..."> tag. Make sure that the src= looks correct. You should be albe to click the link to view that file. [18:15]
foswiki_irc6Ok, thanks for the tips. I will try these things first thing in the morning when I am back at work! Thank you! [18:16]
gac410good luck.
This is a common issue ... the {PubUrlPath} setting doesn't point to the correct path for pub in the URL.
