SvenDowideitBabar, can you turn the foswiki github account into an organisation that we can join?
or does that make issues?
gac410 - george, yes, LogDispatchContrib is open for playing, if you're interested
my hope is that it gets configured from configure, using whatever clever checker is needed to simplify that task
argh. osdc talk proposals extended til next week
now i have time to re-consider not putting one in :/
[04:22]
julian_workyou going to it SvenDowideit ? [04:29]
SvenDowideitso far no [04:30]
julian_worksame [04:30]
SvenDowideiti put in 2 propsals for lca2013 tho
and expect them not to be taken up :)
although, given osdc has a CMS expo
we really should poke foswiki into it :/
[04:30]
julian_workindeed... I also still would like you to do a sage-au preso/talk [04:33]
SvenDowideitthus making for a practice run
dammit
this month and last has been ~60% sick
iirc sept becomes better, so i might have something in oct
atm, i'm just starting lots of little things, but not finishing any of them
like the Log::Dispatch contrib for foswiki
its very nice having foswiki log to syslog
mmm, time to go again :/ laters
[04:34]
julian_workoct is fine!
see ya

CDotwhy does =register= require a POST?
never mind, it was a rhetorical question. I know the answer.

foswiki_irc6Hello all ! I have a data form containing a textarea field, which I would like to display on a topic inside a table. When the textarea contains a single line it's okay, but as soon as there are several lines it breaks the table display. Any hint ?
I use %QUERY{ "field_name" }% to display the textarea content
[09:10]
ModAcOstI guess the easiest way would be to write <pre>%QUERY{...}%</pre> but it will produce a grey box [09:22]
MichaelDaumfoswiki_irc6, use html tables instead of foswiki tables to display the results
thats more robust for exactly these newline reasons
<table clas="foswikiTable"><tr> ....</tr></table> will almost look indentical to a | foswiki | table | with | pipes | table.
[09:25]
foswiki_irc6ok MichaelDaum, I'll try this, thanks ! [09:27]
MichaelDaum^clas=^class= [09:27]
........ (idle for 35mn)
foswiki_irc6I've just tryied and its much better. Though there is still a problem : every line of the textarea is shown on the same line in the table, as there is no <br> tag
do you think a %CALC{"$SUBSTITUTE(%QUERY{ "field_name" }%, $n, $br)"}% would do the trick ?
[10:02]
JulianLevensfoswiki_irc6: I think there's a newline="%BR%" param avaible to %QUERY, try that [10:04]
foswiki_irc6thanks JulianLevens, i'll try [10:08]
hmm doesn't seem to work, i'll try with separator="<br/>"
not better...
[10:14]
...... (idle for 29mn)
MichaelDaumfoswiki_irc6, try <td style='white-space:pre-line'> content </td> ...
or just pre
see http://www.w3schools.com/cssref/pr_text_white-space.asp
CDot, I am on the store unit tests dealing with TOPICINFO
there are some failing now
as the test tell a different story
[10:44]
foswiki_irc6thanks MichaelDaum, i'll give a try [11:03]
..... (idle for 21mn)
BabarSvenDowideit: done. But that means the auto-push script will fail
I'll have to fix it...
[11:24]
ok, created a FoswikiBot account, put the ssh key there, and granted him access. it _should_ work
[git@foswiki ~/foswiki]$ git pull
Already up-to-date.
we'll see if the next commit is sync'ed
Sven: I hope you're happy. I've put you and me, plus George, Paul and Ringo, ah no, wait, and Crawford as admin, as I knew their github username. Micha: if you want it too, gimme your username, I'll add you to both
[11:34]
MichaelDaumMichaelDaum not on git yet ... he is one of those lazy wait-and-see guys hanging around here [11:37]
Babar'k :) [11:39]

ModAcOstIs there any way for a plugin to prevent a rename of a topic? Since there is no beforeRenameHandler I can't throw an exception, like WorkflowPlugin does for edits. [12:37]
MichaelDaumModAcOst, a beforeRenameHandler seems logical given the other pairs of before and after handlers
missing feature
[12:47]
laenThere's a simple configuration option to disable registration? [12:55]
ModAcOstYes, in configure {Register}{EnableNewUserRegistration} [12:56]

foswiki_irc6_hello @all
I have a question about SEARCH
I would like to list all attached files of a topic
How have I write the "format" syntax?
[14:14]
...... (idle for 26mn)
MichaelDaumCDot, while save and repRev call saveDamage intending to repair the META:TOPICINFO, the subsequent checkin still does not insert the correct TOPICINFO afterwards [14:41]
CDotit's supposed to [14:41]
MichaelDaumthe TOPICINFO added by saveDamage is supposed to be just an interim data, but it is not replaced by the rev info params to repRev [14:41]
CDotpretty sure there's aunit test for that..... [14:41]
MichaelDaumthat's where I am right now
and it fails
[14:41]
CDotok; then you know more than I do [14:42]
MichaelDaumas it now reads from txt _first_ it gets it there wrong
now question is: on which layer would we best fix the topic info on its way down the store lane?
RcsWrapHandler, Handler or Store
_saveDamage in Handler.pm could be enhanced to take the $user, $data and stuff while being called by before
I
'll probably do that
alternatively do it in ci()
but thats another META:TOPICINFO parser similar to the one in _saveDamage()
[14:42]
Babarit seems the git-svn split no longer works. pharvey: be warned, the splits are stale now. It just need to have FoswikiBot granted access to all sub-repos
and I don't feel like scripting it right now, as I'm on holiday
[14:52]
..... (idle for 20mn)
CDotMichaelDaum: the store (i.e. at or below the VC level) needs to take total ownership of TOPICINFO. This is because there will be (are) stores that do not store topicinfo in the topic, but generate it when the topic is loaded (yes, I know, it's ckumsy, but compatibility requires it.......) [15:12]
MichaelDaumy [15:12]
CDotit's my view that TOPICINFO should be read-only to the core code (above VC) [15:12]
MichaelDaumI've added a _cacheMetaInfo() next to _saveDamage()
which returns $text with a fixed topicinfo
[15:13]
CDotactually I think the same of FILEATTACHMENT for the same reasons, but that's a lot harder to do without rebuilding all the APIs
ok, sounds good
[15:13]
MichaelDaumso anythign going down that way will have both in sync, meta:topicinfo and rcs rev info [15:13]
CDotdown and up. Good. [15:14]
.................................................................... (idle for 5h38mn)
foswiki_irc5Hey, I just started using foswiki at my work, and I am trying to figure out how to modify the webtopbar
can anyone point me to where this is located?
[20:52]
Babarit's System.WebTopBar [20:54]
foswiki_irc5it says it doesnt exists :/ [20:54]
....... (idle for 30mn)
Babarwhat the...
ah right
System/WebTopBarExample
because it uses the Example one unless you have copied it into a WebTopBar topic
but the topic itself should say that :)
