LiKneuhello
I tried to install EasyTimelinePlugin on a Windows System with Foswiki 1.1.5
Error message is now that EasyTimeline.pl cannot be executed
I saw on Google that this issue was discussed lateley but I could not open the IRC protocol
Does anybody have a hint how to solve this for me?

Babarwhere do you get this error, and when? [18:17]
LynnwoodGreetings all
I'm working on an Gantt chart application using http://taitems.github.com/jQuery.Gantt/
the data format for it JSON which lead me down path to try and figure the easiest way to output a formatted search as JSON data.
'
[18:25]
kip3fHi Lynnwood [18:29]
LynnwoodI suppose i'll just format the output but looking through documentation, i notice in VarQUERY, the parameter of style="json".
made me think it would be mighty cool to have the equivalent in VarSEARCH
hey kip3f
[18:29]
kip3fI've done something similar for integration with JQFullCalendarPlugin [18:31]
Lynnwoodyea? [18:32]
kip3fI created a formatted search that output the required JSON directly
so I could control the attributes in the result set
[18:32]
Lynnwoodmakes sense and shouldn't be too difficult
seems like there should be a way to do a general template for output to JSON formatting
[18:32]
kip3fthere would need to be a way to specify the format of the output, though. E.g. name => $topic allday => 1
to specify exactly what the JSON will encode
probably you will want more then just topic name
[18:35]
Lynnwoodrright... [18:36]
kip3fso in addition to style="json", there would need to also be a way to feed the additional info about *how* the JSON will be generated [18:38]
Lynnwoodabsolutely [18:39]

LiKneuHi Barbar - my speakers are off - so I missed your reply.
I got the error message of EasyTimelinePlugin at configure
on the extensions page of configure
the whole message: Error: This command cannot be executed. Does the web server user have the required permissions?
maybe my apache configuration is wrong but I used the ConfigGenerator of Foswiki and did not set any "agressive" permissions (as far as I know)
is there an easy way to grant access to all Foswiki directorys in the config-file of Apache - just to test if thats the reason the EasyTimeline.pl file can not executed?
[18:48]
kip3fHi LiKneu [18:55]
LiKneuhi [18:55]
kip3fdo you know if you have all the required perl modules installed
did you check?
e.g. ploticus
[18:55]
LiKneuyes - no error message complaining about missing modules
the path ist set to ploticus - no complaints about that
[18:56]
kip3f"Once you have installed the plugin you should visit configure and check that the paths for Ploticus and the EasyTimeline.pl script are correct."
did you do that?
[18:56]
LiKneuyes [18:57]
kip3fI've never used this plugin myself [18:57]
LiKneume neither :-) but I'm trying
from cmd.exe I can start EasyTimeline.pl without problems - so I suggest the problem is connected with my apache configuration
but on the other hand all Foswiki perl scripts are running in the tools-directory too
[18:57]
kip3fDid you notice that there are some debugging tips in "Diagnostics"
on the topic page for the plugin
about setting the Debug flag, etc.
might be a good idea to try those out, if you haven't already
[19:00]
LiKneuI set the Debug flag - but the messages do explain nothing to me [19:04]
kip3fcan you pastebin the output [19:04]
LiKneuthe file debug.txt is not available - but a debug.log - maybe a spelling mistake on the Foswiki site [19:05]
kip3f(go to pastebin.com and create a new page) [19:05]
LiKneuyes i will do
http://pastebin.com/7dYKTbD5
unfortunately the only debug-file I found was the one of Foswiki itself
from Foswiki/working/logs
[19:05]
kip3fhm it looks like you pasted the path to ploticus.exe
but didn't include the "ploticus.exe" part
just a guess
[19:09]
LiKneumy suggestion is that maybe the error is connected with this part of the Debug-file "-A /foswiki/binview |"
there is no / between bin and view like /foswiki/bin/view
[19:11]
kip3fwhat did you set for the path to ploticus [19:12]
LiKneuc:/pl241win32/pl241win32/bin [19:13]
kip3fso try changing that [19:13]
LiKneudo you thin I should add a / at the end [19:13]
kip3fadd /ploticus.exe or whatever the command is called [19:13]
LynnwoodDoes anyone know how I can reference jquery itself in "requires" attribute to VarADDTOZONE?
the only thing i've come up with is referencing one of the query plugins.
[19:14]
BabarLynnwood: JQREQUIRE? [19:18]
LiKneukip3f: unfortunately not good enough [19:18]
kip3fLiKneu: what does the debug log say now [19:19]
LynnwoodBabar: yes to JQREQUIRE, but what do you use to reference jquery itself?
i mean, what would you list in the parameter
[19:19]
Babarbut jquery is always loaded, isn't it? [19:19]
Lynnwoodsequencing.
i have a different application where i'm loading an external jquery plugin (or adding data and configuration) but they didn't work at first because they loaded before jquery itself.
i was getting error that jquery or $ wasn't defined
...until i added a require attribute that reference one of the jquery plugins...which are already set to load after jquery
[19:20]
kip3fLynnwood: try depending on JQUERYPLUGIN [19:22]
Lynnwoodkip3f: thanks! i'll try that.
i don't see that id in generated source but sounds good.
[19:22]
kip3fhmm I'm seeing it in mine
in 1.1 trunk
1.1 latest I mean
[19:23]
Lynnwoodok [19:23]
kip3fwhen I do "view source" [19:23]
Lynnwoodmaybe i didn't look enough [19:23]
kip3flook for the line that loads jquery-...-.js [19:23]
Lynnwoodduh - there it is sure enough [19:23]
LiKneukip3f: nothing new in the debug.log [19:24]
kip3f:-) [19:24]
Lynnwoodthanks for helping me see the obvious
:-)
[19:24]
kip3fLiKneu: the reason why I think that's the problem, is because of "Ploticus not found in local folder. Is it on your system path?"
from your log
and before that line, it prints the system command that is about to be executed
can you delete the debug log
try again
and look in the log to see what it prints
try copying that command & running from cmd.exe
[19:25]
LiKneukip3f: you are my hero
i added the executable name pl.exe to the end of the path and tried again - ignoring the error message
and it worked regardless the error message within configure
[19:29]
kip3fLiKneu - glad it worked [19:35]
LiKneume too ;-) [19:35]

SvenDowideitLynnwood, yes. raise a proposal for style=json (or similar) for SEARCH
code wise it should be pretty easy, as QUERY and SEARCH output code is related
and i think it might dovetail into the listviewtemplate proposal that arthur and i have been not quite doing
wrt gantt chart thing
coool! are you making a jQueryGanttContrib?
