WhoWhatWhen
gac410Lavr: See http://foswiki.org/Community/ReleaseAnnouncementLetters for my first attempt at an announcement template [00:08]
My changes to BuildContrib appear to have succeeded building 1.1.6 + extensions without SVN. So now to copy those changes to trunk. It refuses to upload any extension using a $Rev based version string.
Is that going to be too annoying ....... do we need some more git planning, or should we start blocking $Rev / $Date

kip3fMichaelDaum - I tried to register on d.m.c and I got this error "The register script can only be called with POST method." [02:48]
gac410phew... at least that works on 1.1.6 ...
gac410 had brief period of panic. Did I really test that
[02:50]
kip3fit's still on 1.1.5 [02:51]
gac410I know we tightened down some stuff to require post. But I thought that was done a while back.
That's one way to prevent spam registrations I suppose :)
[02:52]
kip3fwell the registraton form *is* using post. Maybe the captcha is somehow causing a problem [02:53]

gac410I knew I should have done a commit by commit review of tasks against the release notes. I've found 3 now that were missed from release notes because of incorrect coding (wrong component, minor rel, etc) At least one was my fault :(
And two more I have no idea. Combination tasks patched release11, trunk and a non-default extension :(

[09:47]
MichaelDaumyea could be worse :) [09:50]

foswiki_irc9Hi! I've got a question regarding DataForms.
One form field contains a long list of items (multi+select). Is there a way to organise the items in a nested list? I guess I would need some sort of JS magic.
All I need would be a 2-level hierarchy.
[14:44]
jastthere is actually HTML that does that, but I don't think select+multi supports generating it, so yeah, probably JS
perhaps you can generate the appropriate HTML on the fly using JS
basically, with that structure, the <select> contains <optgroup> elements which in turn contain <option> elements
example: http://www.quackit.com/html_5/tags/html_optgroup_tag.cfm
[14:49]
foswiki_irc9jast:: Thanks, but wouldn't Foswiki have to support is as well?
Otherwise I can't store the data in a form.
[14:51]
jastif you manipulate the DOM in the browser, no
the optgroup elements are actually ignored when submitting the form, so foswiki would still get exactly the same data
[14:52]
foswiki_irc9OK, but I would have to manually generate the drop-down list? Right now, I'm using a table within a topic? [14:54]
jastwell... either you can write the HTML manually, or you can have JS alter the auto-generated HTML
or you can wait for foswiki 14.0 which might include an optgroup feature for forms ;)
[14:55]
foswiki_irc9;-)
The problem in my case is that some-one else has to be able to maintain the nested list. The 2nd problem: my JS skills are cery basic... ;-)
[14:55]
jastunfortunately I don't have time to write JS code for you
are you familiar with jQuery?
if so, this might help as a starting point: http://www.gilluminate.com/2011/08/08/using-jquery-to-enable-optgroup-in-cforms/
[15:00]
foswiki_irc9I'm wasn't looking for some-one to write code for me.
Thanks for the link. I already played around with jQuery in the past.
[15:03]
jastgood luck with that, then! :) [15:03]
foswiki_irc9Looks like a good starting point. Thanks for your help! [15:04]
gac410CDot: Item12132, is waiting for release, is a non-default extension in 1.1.6, but has a checkin to 1.1.6. Should this be closed? [15:12]

...... (idle for 29mn)
gac410CDot: Regarding your comment about converting to git - so the upshot is, I will need to throw away all my carefully crafted svn checkouts, with all their uncommitted changes, and convert to git?
I'm sure that there is some way to do this without throwing anything away.
[15:41]
CDotCDot was being facetious [15:42]
gac410Oh... okay. I just wanted to help. [15:42]
CDotItem12132: is still being worked on. I didn't check in to 1.1.6 with it; it is non-core. [15:42]
gac410Ah... But there was a 1.1.6 checkin to JQueryPlugin
So the task mixed core and non-core and I missed the core piece from the release notes
Anyway, for git. I think if you tar a crafted svn checkout, and untar it over the top of a new git checkout, "git status" will show exactly what's been modified or added. and "git stash" can save all the modified files for later re-apply
