SvenDowideitgac410, that ICON thing
I did that on trunk only (at the time)
in the expectation that we'd all work on fixing things up
looks like backing that change out is a better idea
[22:55]
........ (idle for 37mn)
gac410SvenDowideit: yeah. Though I suspect other areas may have also been changed to accommodate the quote change. might be complicated.
The other one to consider backing out is the change to "GET" to cancel, vs POST.
I thought the ICON thing was an ArthurClemens feature proposal.
[23:32]
SvenDowideiti don't think anyone actually made changes
yes, it was arthur's proposal from a very long time ago
and i actioned it, expecting to make it happen
[23:41]
gac410Other than the groups management, has there been any other negative impact?
CDot set the task to "No action required" claiming the problem was fixed. I re-opened it because it clearly is not.
[23:42]
SvenDowideittbh, i don't think we know if other things fail
and moreso - there are user issues - we've all hand crafted workarounds
[23:43]
gac410well, trunk has been running reasonable stable for a while. hm... Maybe that's one that could have a setting, so use single vs. double for quoting.
A preference, or individual macro override. %ICON{"blah" quote="sq"}%
[23:43]
SvenDowideitSvenDowideit steals a comma
grep Commandline history.log* | grep 'apt-get install' | sed 's/.*apt-get install //' | sed 's/ /\'$'\n/g' | sort | uniq
gosh, talk about woeful - i happen to be writing the sed bit on a mac, so adding a newline is hard
[23:46]
gac410gac410 has been trying to convert my standalone web server into a vm on esxi, migrate to x64, ended up going back to gentoo from debian, too much stuff was too out of date. [23:51]
SvenDowideityeah, I'm struggling with my debian atm too
both kvm and lxc are shockingly old on debian
[23:52]
gac410Migrating my list server from gentoo to debian .... file system locations changed, I was running into rsync & config issues renaming paths, and stuff just wasn't working. never did get messages to be archived by mhonarc no idea where they disappeared. [23:55]
SvenDowideitlist server? mumble!
i let dreamhost do most of my heavy lifting
[23:57]
gac410yeah years ago I switched from mailman to sympa. Much better archiving / searching. total complete overkill for me. But it was interesting. [23:58]
SvenDowideitah, wots sympa like?
apparently, it can be used with lemonldap-ng
which has a perl based sso
for which i'll probly be writing a foswiki login shim
[23:58]
gac410It's designed for huge scaling. not that my measly 150 users need it. [23:59]
