SvenDowideitpharvey, pharvey1 - yes I find it extremely handy to have a bought version of komodo for debugging the more complicated perl issues
plus, its a nice example of an xul app
[03:23]
gac410SvenDowideit: Did you see the issues with debian and our Maketext fix? [03:24]
SvenDowideitna, i've seen nothing all week
is there sugar? :)
[03:24]
gac410They patched Locale::Maketext without incrementing the version. So we test for 1.23, and then escape. And then they escape, and slashes get doubled. [03:25]
SvenDowideitoh gee, what marvelous clods
lets call our next three releases 1.0.0
[03:25]
gac410yeah. It was why the Locale::Maketext unit test fails on debian with doubled slashes.
fsfs spotted it.
pharvey asked the debian channel to please just install 1.23, :P
[03:25]
SvenDowideitand they got all huffy i presume
ah well, when its ready, i'll make is 'easy to buy' :)
[03:27]
gac410pharvey commented on http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=695224 for the maketext issue. [03:30]
SvenDowideitoh dear, jquery 2.0 beta2
won't run ie6,7,8

MichaelDaum_ is now known as MichaelDaum [08:23]
MichaelDaumSvenDowideit, yes jquery2 will not support oldIEs. however jquery1 will still be around for quite some time.
and jquery1 will maintain even ie6 compatibility for the time of its remaining lifetime
w/o oldIE support jquery2beta is significantly smaller and faster.
[08:24]
jasttoo bad we're still developing for IE7/8 :( [08:27]
MichaelDaumalso: the oldIEs won't be around as long as jquery1 will be
yea they are a pita

jmp242Does anyone use LDAP authorization to AD 2008R2? - As far as I can tell, the plugin doesn't seem to find the users primary group, and just checks what's in the LDAP attribute "memberOf" ... [15:39]
***jast has quit IRC (Remote host closed the connection) [15:39]
jastjmp242: correct [15:42]
jmp242Is that a bug or feature request? Is it actually by design to not find the primary group?
Is it possible to use LDAP groups with spaces in the names such as Domain Users
[15:55]
jastare primary groups even a standard LDAP feature?
I believe space characters are fine, but you might need to enable group name normalization in configure
[15:56]
jmp242as far as I know, windows and linux both use primary groups . . . [15:57]
jasttrue enough... personally I've never needed primary group memberships in the wikis I've set up
if you open a task item, I guess you can just mark it as a bug if you think it's a universal requirement. if the developer disagrees, he can still change it to a feature request. ;)
[16:00]
jmp242Well, the issue is we might want to authorize people by being a domain member, so "Domain Users" would be the group to use, unless you can have one Wiki group that == "I can authenticate"
where would I go to open a task item?

automatii'm hoping someone could shed some light on user approval. i have everything configured according to the foswiki docs, and it appears to be working, but I don't see any way to generate an email to the user notifying them that the request was approved
for reference, i followed the steps here: http://foswiki.org/System/ManagingUsers#Manually_approving_registrations
[17:24]
gac410Unfortunately this approval mechanism is really abusing the confirmation mechanism. Foswiki 1.2 will have a new feature to implement a true approval mechanism: Foswiki:Development/AdminApprovalOfNewUsers [17:27]
FoswikiBothttp://foswiki.org/Development/AdminApprovalOfNewUsers [ AdminApprovalOfNewUsers ] [17:27]
gac410But Foswiki 1.2 is probably a ways away. It needs quite a bit more polishing. [17:28]
automatigac410: thanks for the info. i'm OK with abusing the confirmation system for now, but i think i may still have a bug in my setup
new registration triggers an email to me (REGISTRATIONAPPROVALEMAIL), but I don't get the confirmation defined by the registernotifyadmin.SKIN.tmpl template. i was hoping to add a CC in this to the newly approved user. but apparently this email isn't being generated.
any, i'll keep digging. thanks again, gac410

automat_gac410: another quick question on using the verify hack to handle approval. is there any trick to trigger the emails defined in registernotify.SKIN.tmpl and registernotifyadmin.SKIN.tmpl?
i get the approval email defined in registerconfirm.SKIN.tmpl, but that's it.
[19:51]
........................... (idle for 2h12mn)
gac410automat_: Sorry, I was away from the computer. tbh I'm really not sure about the emails and skins. It's been a couple of years since I touched this. I've got a server with it active, I'll take a look.
Hm.. When I register a new user, the admin gets a "Please confirm" email. When I click the confirm link, The user gets a "Thanks for registering" email, and the admin gets a registration completed message.
3 templates were used "registerconfirm.skin.tmpl" was sent to the "approver" admin for approval.
"registernotify.skin.tmpl" is sent to the "new user" saying that the registration has been approved
"registernotifyadmin.skin.tmp" is sent back to the admin saying that the registration was completed.
[22:03]
automat_: What release of foswiki are you using? And how is it configured to send email? (Net::SMTP::SSL ?) [22:15]
