WhoWhatWhen
hexadecagramHi, #foswiki. I'm trying to use the VirtualHosting extension with Foswiki 1.1.5 (which I cannot easily upgrade due to the FreeBSD port being out of date). When I run tools/virtualhosts-create.sh (as user www), I get: "cp: /usr/local/www/foswiki/pub/Main: No such file or directory". Is there something I need to do before running this script? The extension documentation says nothing about that. [00:04]

Babarhexadecagram: let me have a look
first, sorry about the ports. I'll try to contact the person who was doing it, see if he needs any help
[04:30]
hum... this is odd... It should take all the configuration from the installation, so how come Main doesn't exist? Did you rename it? [04:44]

hexadecagramBabar: No idea. AFAIK, it wasn't installed, this is a fresh install.
Babar: Interesting. pkg_info -Lx foswiki tells me that it should be installed.
I'm reinstalling the port, which is going to need to grind through a few dependencies. We'll see what happens.

SvenDowideit_wow.
the more i look into what cna be done using LemonLDAP::NG, the more excellent it is
i wish it were not so mod_perl oriented, but that appears well worth overlooking
[05:54]
not only can you have ldap backed authentication, you can mix that backend with others
plus it can manage authorization
and it adds an openid provider, and similarly SAML2 for identity sharing
the only thing i might want to add, is some kind of casual user verification
[06:07]
.... (idle for 15mn)
and if we write a backend for foswiki - we could even use lemon to provide openid auth for topicusermapping, lopy [06:23]

Babarhexadecagram: no worries. [06:52]

jastgah... I wanted to use %COMMENT% within a dialog AJAX-loaded via RenderPlugin... but %COMMENT% requires context->{view}
MichaelDaum: do you think RenderPlugin should set context->{view}?
[09:56]
MichaelDaumhm not sure. could be wrong in other situations calling RenderPlugin's rest handler
we do have the static context as well for printing and stuff...
I wonder why %COMMENT requires a view context though
[10:02]
jastyeah, maybe it's more of a bug in CommentPlugin
it has an explicit check, but doesn't explain why
[10:03]
MichaelDaumthe other option for you would be to use a rest call on a view with skin=text [10:04]
jastI suppose...
jast tries
[10:04]
if I use view, it doesn't find the right CommentPluginTemplate for some reason
oh nm, the guy who put it there included an explicit skin name
works if I change that. thanks for the idea.

MichaelDaumgac410, did you see my reply in the irc logs about git-svn? [15:03]
gac410no ... looking now [15:03]
MichaelDaumhttp://irclogs.foswiki.org/bin/irclogger_log/foswiki?date=2013-06-11,Tue&sel=20#l16 [15:04]
gac410yup I just read it. I can't argue the point that we need to move to git completely. I just don't get the "the recipes currently promoted to develop foswiki under a git-svn is too much of a barrier, even for me. "
I found it simple, and it has worked really well for me. But that is not a valid response to you, as your issue is certainly valid for you.
And CDot's point about triggers. I assume that means the exits that enforce various checkin constraints - valid task, etc. I agree with that.
And that is probably the biggest hurdle to the migration. Nobody to work on them.
[15:07]
MichaelDaumyea. well. have to leave now. [15:09]
gac410So I guess I mostly agree with you and cdot even if I don't really understand it all. [15:10]
MichaelDaumas far as I understood Babar, checkin constraints using git is possible though done on the client ... which I think is even better than how it is done using svn.
as far as these constraints are installed as part of a git clone process.
anyway have to run. see you.
[15:10]
CDotyes, it's possible on the client. But as gac410, needs someone to work on it. [15:11]
