SvenDowideit_in case anyone here uses ubuntu
does anyone know if there is a libcgi-session-perl package?
or am I going to delete the foswiki debian and rpm repo's as a pointless excercise in pain?
(I just tried to install on an 13.04 ubuntu docker image
mmm, then again, maybe this docker container is whats busted :/
its like no-one likes perl
or - i don't know restricted/universe/multiverse
[03:35]
[julian]apt-file lets you search dpkgs
iirc
[03:39]
SvenDowideit_y, but this is weirder
the docker ubuntu image only contains an apt sources for precise main
[03:40]
[julian]ahh ok [03:40]
SvenDowideit_thus misses everything [03:41]
[julian]I'm a debian guy, not ubuntu sorry [03:41]
SvenDowideit_me too
but lxc on debian is too much pain
and docker is even more so
SvenDowideit_ wishes he was in brissy for the ansible thing :/
[03:41]
[julian]awwww
puppet is better ;)
[03:42]
SvenDowideit_i doubt that
puppet uses memory on the client - ansible, like rex uses ssh
ah, its not a sage thing, its a devops group thing
you should go :p
[03:42]
[julian]what it does on box would use memory. puppet can run from cron to fixthe mem issue
:)
[03:43]
SvenDowideit_no
when you run puppet from cron, puppet uses memory
[03:43]
[julian]then it releases it when finished right? [03:44]
SvenDowideit_thats no fix when my vm is ~256Mg ram [03:44]
[julian]good point [03:44]
SvenDowideit_its bad enough that whatever command i run uses memory, puppet&factor are hogs
tbh, i have this unsubtle idea that docker might even show how to kill puppet
and i have a cunning plan :}
[03:44]
[julian]hehe
don't do it
[03:46]
SvenDowideit_luckily i can't :)
notime - i'm just trying to set up this sacrificial notebook for what i need for the trip
[03:47]
mmm, if this works, then trying out foswiki would be as simple as 'docker start -p80:8888 svendowideit/ubuntu-foswiki'
or something like that
if only configure could kick off an apt-get install for extensions
[03:56]
***gac410 has left [04:10]
SvenDowideit_oh i think i give up
configure can't run without writing to the working dir?
and thus, i can't access configure to find out what is wrong
[04:16]
interesting
it looks like foswiki (perhaps my debs?) is creating the tmp dir with 700
[04:23]
[julian]YOUR FAULT
:)
[04:24]
SvenDowideit_well, hacked around it for now
next up, figuring out how to set the admin pwd so i can get into configure :/

rfSomeone here fit with BuildContrib and dependencies?
I wanted to play around with BuildContrib, everything goes fine till I try to 'perl build.pl dependencies'
[11:37]
SvenDowideit_you need to tell it where the foswiki lib dir is?
ie
[11:38]
rfIt dies at line 90 / 95 of dependencies.pm "Variable "$basedir" is not imported at ..." [11:38]
SvenDowideit_export FOSWIKI_LIBS=/home/sven/src/foswiki/core/lib
oh, deps - ok, i've not run that in a long time
CDot, on the other hand >:}
[11:38]
rfI exported the lib path already :) [11:39]
SvenDowideit_yup - i was hoping it was what kicks me all the time
but you're way past that
[11:39]
CDotnot touched deps for the longest time [11:40]
rfIt dies here:
foreach my $pmfile (@queue) {
die unless defined $basedir;
i thought it could be $this->{$basedir}
[11:40]
CDothuh? that's really sick
CDot checks the code
[11:40]
rfBut I saw that this is public [11:40]
SvenDowideit_SvenDowideit_ runs away, having woken CDot :) [11:40]
rfpackage Foswiki::Contrib::Build; <- this should import it [11:40]
FoswikiBothttp://trunk.foswiki.org/System/PerlDoc?module=Foswiki::Contrib::Build [11:40]
CDotrf: first question, are you using BuildContrib from SVN or from foswiki.org/Extensions? [11:41]
rfSVN [11:41]
CDotok; which branch? [11:41]
rftrunk i guess
just checked it out
and pseudo installed it

[11:42]
CDotyeah, ok. I split up the various targets (which were all in one file) into separate modules
at that time, it lost track of so global vars; I suspect this is one
^so^some
[11:43]
rfI don't know, maybe it is something with my setup if this target is not heavily used. [11:48]
CDotno, it's the code for sure. Just investigating. [11:48]
rfBtw B::PerlReq seems to have some problems too, some testcases fail with perl 5.12.2
while installing
[11:49]
CDotit was never perfect [11:49]
rfForced install didn't break anything till now.
I have no idea, heard from it the first time.
:)
[11:49]
CDotok, so you can use "my $basedir = $this->{basedir}"
still doesn't seem happy for some reason; TBH I've forgotten how that code works
y, ISWYM, looks like B::PerlReq is playing silly buggers
no, I take that back, it's working correctly once you put "my $basedir = $this->{basedir}" in
[11:52]
rfCool, I will try that.
This worked, thanks.
So thats why my $testfile = $this->{basedir} . '/' . $pmfile;
if ( -e $testfile ) { ...
worked but died a few lines with only $basedir in use.
i guess
:x
[11:57]
CDotrf: next time you svn update BuildContrib should be fixed. [12:09]
rfCDot: great, thanks :) [12:10]

CalebSGMy numbered lists are not producing the expected results anymore...not sure when they changed but I was wondering if I could get some pointers on how to start diagnosing. 3 spaces and a 1 dot space works fine. 3 spaces and an a dot space results in a bullet
HTML is: <p></p> <ol>
<li type="a"> Prefix represents the type of document.

well, well. Appears to be an IE10 issue. Compare http://foswiki.org/System/TextFormattingRules#Editing_Shorthand on IE to Chrome...works in Chrome
