gac410Okay, modified plugins all uploaded, release staged to sourceforge, installed on Foswiki.org ... Ready to work with Michael tomorrow for 1.1.9, on Foswiki's 5th birthday [00:50]

HenroRitchieHi - what is the best linux distro for foswiki? [07:01]
pharveydepends. SvenDowideit maintains .deb and .rpm packages for debian and centos
http://fosiki.com/Foswiki_debian/ and http://fosiki.com/Foswiki_rpms/
[07:07]
FoswikiBot[ Foswiki rpm yum repository ] [07:10]
pharveymost developers seem to use debian-ish distros
foswiki.org itself runs FreeBSD
[07:10]
HenroRitchiewhat about ubuntu [07:13]
pharveyI've used the .deb packages on ubuntu before with no problems
although I seem to recall struggling with the packaged verison of RCS, I think I had to recompile it for 64-bit so that it could reliably work on >2GB Foo,v files
but perhaps ubuntu & friends have fixed that now.
[07:14]
HenroRitchiewe are moving our foswiki site from a local server to a hosted server and now I can choose any linux flavour that I want
we are currently using centos
[07:15]
pharveyoh, and I don't know if this is still current advice, but at least on 10.04 I recall having to install libcgi-pm-perl for decent utf8 support
ubuntu is a perfectly fine choice
[07:16]

gac410Hi Michael, We are all set to launch 1.1.9. It's all built and uploaded, f.o, and sourceforge, and installed on f.o
Ah... ping MichaelDaum
[14:15]
MichaelDaumHi George. Ya.
Let's prepare a press release for it that includes the anniversary as well :)
[14:16]
gac410ya. I'm still waking up, but let me find the 1.1.8 announcement as a starting point. [14:17]
MichaelDaumI am currently working on image material...
no worries. told my wife it's going to be late today.
[14:17]
gac410Here is what was sent for 1.1.8: http://sourceforge.net/p/foswiki/mailman/message/30544555/ [14:21]
MichaelDaumthere's the 1.1.4er one I used those days
being used to send around news sites
[14:24]
gac410okay ... thanks. I'm revising the 1.1.8 one. I'll attach it there as well, and maybe we can take pieces of each.
Or actually, do we want a more detailed one for the announce email list, Will the focus of the emails be different?
[14:26]
MichaelDaumor both: press rel vs full announce [14:26]
gac410Ah... great minds think alike :)
okay great. Should I flip the F.O triggers and remove the staging flag from Sourceforge now or more focus on the announcements?
[14:27]
MichaelDaumlet's first find the proper words so that we don't get into a hurry. [14:30]
gac410okay. wilco [14:31]
pharveymy goodness. Still at work at 01:46. [14:44]
gac410time flies when you are having fun [14:45]
pharveyhttps://github.com/joonty/vdebug is a life-changing vim plugin, I swear this time this is the one :)
I have been debugging stupid moosey catalyst code on a remote server using vim
breakpoints, has a nice way of exploring variables (traverse hash/arrays in a tree-browser thingy), stacktrace, etc.
still have to find a way to mount the remote filesystem (or parts thereof) locally somehow, then tell vdebug how to map the remote paths onto the wherever it's mounted in the local FS
komodo does that a lot nicer, but damn, this is awesome.
I wonder why I've not heard of this plugin before
pharvey mustn't be reading the right blogs :D
k. hometime.

gac410er... well merged into the 1.1.8 email ... I have to edit a bunch of stale stuff towards the bottom. [14:56]
MichaelDaumgac410, finished my jquery edits on the announcement [15:00]
gac410Okay
Should we flip Foswiki.org over to JQuery 2.0.1? And do you have any "sizzle" to add to the "Ships with" as to why JQuery 2 is a big win for Foswiki?
[15:01]
MichaelDaumjQuery-2.0.2 is the latest and greates ... for now. they have a next beta in the pipes already. but that's not production ready.
jQuery-2 is a milestone for jQuery in terms of performance and browser support
[15:06]
gac410Yeah, For press release, though, what I ask is what does jq202 do for the user. Why should joe user care, or joe admin? [15:07]
MichaelDaumit stripps off all oldIE hacks and maintains them in the 1.10.x branch.
bottom line is: jquery-2.0.x is smaller & faster.
[15:07]
gac410We really need an all hands on deck push to get 1.2 out.
MichaelDaum: How about something like "JQuery 2.x is the fastest, lightest JQuery, for an improved user experience." as a bullet in addition to the "Ships with" statement
[15:10]
MichaelDaumyes perfect. not my native langauge. [15:14]
gac410okay good. [15:15]
jastjquery2 is not supported by IE <9
or the other way around, ymmv :)
[15:20]
MichaelDaumeven IE9 should not use jquery2 [15:21]
jastyeah, I remember now... [15:21]
gac410Hm... Looks good, but this is the 3rd 1.1.x release that has claimed to be the last. I don't intend to say that again :D [15:21]
MichaelDaumjast, JQueryPlugin will automatically serve 1.10.1 to those [15:21]
jastI always think of IE9 first because it's already so much less sucky than IE7/8
and both IE10 and IE11 introduce new breakage
[15:21]
MichaelDaumjast, oh yea. [15:22]
gac410And again, I'd add the JQuery 2.x is the fastest, lightest JQuery, for an improved user experience [15:22]
MichaelDaumgac410, please do.
claiming to be the last in the 1.1.x ... now for real ;)
[15:22]
jastdoes JQueryPlugin look at the user-agent string to decide which jQuery it serves? [15:22]
gac410I meant to your blog bost. [15:22]
jastbecause ISTR that IE11 sends a fake user-agent [15:22]
gac410:D ... Foswiki 1.1.9 will really honestly truly be the final release in 1.1.x since we have run out of numbers ... maybe ... until the next urgent bug ... we think. [15:23]
MichaelDaumMichaelDaum improved the copy a but
1.1.10 is a fine release number in my book.
jast, we will deal with IE11 when it is time to do so. For now I need to get IE9 and IE10 fixed.
IE9 provided some freaking surprises recently
[15:23]
jastmicrosoft surprise-upgraded me to IE11 the other day
I'm not happy
fwiw IE11 sends this user-agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Trident/7.0; rv:11.0) like Gecko
literally
so, we're likely to have plenty of IE11 users in the wild already
[15:26]
MichaelDaumdoes it still support conditional comments? [15:26]
jastno idea... they suck a LOT if they got rid of that [15:27]
MichaelDaumJQueryPlugin uses <!--[if lte IE 9]> to serve jquery-1.10.x [15:27]
jastlet's hope that'll work, then :) [15:28]
MichaelDaumever moving sands of web development [15:28]
jastthe webmail thingy I use here doesn't really work in IE11 anymore... worked fine in 9 and 10
lovely
not that I habitually use IE for actual work...
[15:28]
MichaelDaumtry another browser? [15:28]
jastin that case I just used it because of a stupid conference service thing that sends e-mail invitations with black magic
ended up working in chrome, too, using java instead of activex
[15:29]
MichaelDaumor chrome-frame [15:29]
jastno need :)
my main browser is still firefox, anyway
[15:30]
gac410MichaelDaum: I reworked the jquery section a bit more: http://foswiki.org/Community/AnnounceDraft01x01x09#JQuery_upgrade
Let me know and I'll propagate it to the other places.
[15:34]
MichaelDaumgac410, okay. /me now working on the PressReleaseDraft ... will press out the essentials from the main announcement... [15:34]
gac410What do you think about foswiki.org. Should I flip to JQuery 2.0.2? We also have some out-of-date extensions ImagePlugin, JQGridPlugin, StringifierContrib, and VarCachePlugin [15:42]
MichaelDaumStringifierContrib isn't depending on jQuery
I'll update ImagePlugin tomorrow, as well as a few others.
[15:43]
gac410Actually I don't think we even need Stringifier. I think that's part of Babar's attempt at Solr that he never completed.
And I have no idea what VarCache is for but it's enabled.
[15:44]
MichaelDaumI could take over installing Solr on foswiki.org [15:44]
gac410well lets get all this current stuff put to bed first :) [15:45]
MichaelDaumokay then I think we are all set to run the releases and announcements
wait a bit switching to jquery-2.0.2. no hurry.

Okay I think the foswiki web is set. I'll send press release now to foswiki-announce. Should I also sent it to foswiki-discuss? [16:06]
MichaelDaumyes
perlnews.org done.
[16:06]
gac410Do you think this subject is okay? Happy Birthday Foswiki! Foswiki-1.1.9 is released on 5th anniversary
hm... or maybe "Happy Anniversary! Foswiki-1.1.9 is released on 5th anniversary"
Or will a subject like that look too spamish
[16:07]
Michael, Are there any upgrade considerations for the deprecated jquery tooltip? We say to disable it, but should the admin be concerned about compatibility? [16:21]
MichaelDaumYes. Some plugins still use the old tooltip plugin. So they have to wait for the next update before they can switch over to the other implementation.
I am using "Foswiki 1.1.9 released, just in time for its 5th anniversary" in the press releases
[16:22]
gac410We really need to add something like that to the release notes then.
Okay... I'll make that the subject
Is there anything they should search for to determin if they will have a compat issue? Or do we have a list of known plugins needing update?
ie search for topics with %JREQUIRE Tooltip ?
That's really important so sites don't get surprised breakage and calls from users :(
grep -R JQREQUIRE | grep tooltip | grep -v ui::tooltip
Finds: ActivityStreamPlugin HarvestPlugin, and System/JQueryTooltip.txt
That's not too bad.
By the sounds of it, there is no "grace period" You shouldn't have UI::Tooltip, and Tooltip enabled at the same time. And since we require UI::Tooltip, users need to update their local usage.
[16:23]
MichaelDaumImagePlugin, NatSkin, SolrPlugin, HarvestPlugin, ClassificationPlugin: these will all see an update and make use of the new ui::tooltip for better usability. [16:33]
***ChanServ sets mode: +o CDot [16:33]
gac410Okay, I'll add a note to the announcement. The following plugins: ... need to be updated to the latest release for compatibility with the new UI::Tooltip. Any local topics or plugins that JQREQUIRE tooltip need investigation and changes during the upgrade. [16:35]
CDotCDot is back [16:36]
gac410Is ActivityStreamPlugin maintained? It has a jqrequire for tooltip.
Adding the following to the release notes: The following plugins: ClassificationPlugin, HarvestPlugin, ImagePlugin, NatSkin, SolrPlugin  are known to use tooltip and will require an upgrade to the latest version.
[16:38]
MichaelDaumgac410, it is work in progress. I didn't find time to continue on it. Nor is there a client in need of it. [16:38]
gac410okay. is it released? If not, no need to mention it. [16:39]
MichaelDaum^ActivityStreamPlugin
right. no need.
[16:39]
gac410okay good. [16:39]

gac410Great.
Okay. Sending the announcement now
Done
[16:40]
http://foswiki.org/Support/Question1378 I guess 1.1.9 is just in time. I assume answer is user need to update JQueryPlugin. Maybe needs an updated dependency? [16:53]
MichaelDaumargh it slipped thru [16:55]
Paragon1970Hi Michael could you give me a clue how I get from this http://picpaste.com/2013-11-18_22_08_43-SolrSearch___System___Foswiki-B3ReS6H5.png to http://demo.michaeldaumconsulting.com/System/SolrSearch# ? [16:56]
FoswikiBot[ SolrSearch · System · Foswiki ] [16:56]
Paragon1970I have manged to get the solr backend working (I think ) by using the binaries from solr site and coping the info taken from the foswikisolr plugin. The original foswikisolr-bin plugin just wont work. I can get it started and it listens on 8983 but the original plugin complains of 404 errors.
If I create a page with the following solr search I see it hit the solr server and return expected results so it apears to be working. http://pastebin.com/thVd1qQd
Having a nice search page is what I am having difficulty with such as the one mentioned: http://demo.michaeldaumconsulting.com/System/SolrSearch#
[16:58]
jastwhoo! release! on behalf of Modell Aachen (and myself, of course), thanks to everyone who helped make 1.1.9 happen! :) [17:02]

Paragon1970Congratulations on the new release :-) [17:05]
gac410gac410 has fingers in ears waiting for the first bug report. May there be few (or none!) How's that for wishful thinking. [17:06]
Paragon1970Talking of 'potential' bugs does this look correct '/var/lib/foswiki/data/System/SolrSearch.txt' it content seem rather small to produce this page http://demo.michaeldaumconsulting.com/System/SolrSearch# http://pastebin.com/Vk4KNHU8 [17:08]
jastParagon1970: while we don't have a clear solution, one thing you could do to gather more info is to see if there are any error messages in your browser's javascript console when accessing the SolrSearch page [17:08]
FoswikiBot[ %META:TOPICINFO{author="ProjectContributor" date="1332844270" format="1.1" versi - Pastebin.com ] [17:08]
jast(in firefox, press Ctrl+K to open the console)
Paragon1970: SolrSearch uses SolrSearchViewTemplate for rendering stuff
hence it's just a directive that tells foswiki to use that
did I say ctrl+k? I meant ctrl+shift+k
[17:08]
Paragon1970jast: I was thinking that as I created a new page under System and selected the solsearch template from the drop down box, when viewing the page it displays the text contents. Am I missing something or do I need to edit that file? I noticed verbatim tags etc.
I'll give that a try jast
ctrl+shift+k
[17:11]
gac410Hm... Should I think positive and NOT create a documentation task for 1.1.10 ? :D [17:14]
Paragon1970Just to add to my last comment this is what I see when I create a new page in System of type SolrSearchBaseTemplate http://pastebin.com/hw8hLgdY after saving. Is this correct, I think not., shouldn't the template function?
Output from 'ctrl+shift+k' This is not my area of experience but does it appear to be an issue with jquery? http://pastebin.com/srkDQ1tV
[17:16]
gac410well, I think that puts 1.1.9 to bed from my perspective. I don't think anything else on f.o or the external sites need updating. Is anyone tweeting, etc? [17:20]

MichaelDaumgac410, where did you put the announcement on foswiki.org? http://foswiki.org/Download/FoswikiRelease01x01x09 is the download page, http://foswiki.org/Community/AnnounceDraft01x01x09 is the draft, ... [17:34]
FoswikiBot[ (Foswiki login) AnnounceDraft01x01x09 ] [17:34]
gac410Hm.... I don't think we ever do a separate announcement page. At least I never have. Everything points to the download page. [17:34]
MichaelDaum... which has less prose
the only other url is the mailing list archive.
[17:35]
gac410Yeah. I don't ever recall a "press release" style topic on the main web site. We'd need to restructure things a bit I suspect. [17:36]
MichaelDaumyour announcement is actually a better "news link" than the bare download page. [17:37]
gac410The stuff I update is all listed at the bottom of the Foswik:Development.BuildingARelease [17:37]
MichaelDaumfixed that
the build date, release date I mean
[17:38]
gac410Hm.. build date was yesterday, release date today.
We have summaries: ProjectUpdates, There used to be a DownloadFoswiki topic, but that %includes WebHome, which does a %Redirect to the current release
It would be nice if we put the prose and highlights into %INCLUDE sections of the FoswikiRelease01x01x09 topic.
I also need to build a README file to add on sourceforge. I was thinking it should be a text version of your prose, plus upgrade instructions from the DownloadFoswiki page
One stupid thing I do... Adding the upgrade notes, like jquery ui tooltip info, to the DownloadFoswiki page **After** the ReleaseNotes01x01 topic is complete and packaged. So people who download directly don't get to see some important stuff.
[17:38]
.... (idle for 15mn)
MichaelDaum: I've gotten no feedback at all re OtherInstallers email, and no comments on Foswiki:Development.OtherInstallersShouldNotLinkToOldReleases [17:59]
FoswikiBothttp://foswiki.org/Development.OtherInstallersShouldNotLinkToOldReleases [ OtherInstallersShouldNotLinkToOldReleases ] [17:59]
MichaelDaumyea well give it a few minutes :) [18:00]
gac410(I meant more re: feedback about removing the old stuff. I figured threat of delete would generate some angst :) ) [18:02]
MichaelDaumdoesn't seem so [18:04]
gac410I hate to follow the "proposal process" and wait two weeks to clean up the OtherInstallers page :( [18:05]
Paragon1970I guess this could be the issue I am hitting current installed version Foswiki1.1.8
The following optional plugins:Extensions.ClassificationPlugin, HarvestPlugin, ImagePlugin, NatSkin, SolrPlugin are known to use tooltip and if used, will require an upgrade to the latest version during the 1.1.9 upgrade.
Taken from http://foswiki.org/Download/FoswikiRelease01x01x09?redirectedfrom=Download.WebHome
[18:12]
gac410That should only effect the "tooltips" that display when hovering over a link. [18:13]
Paragon1970dang [18:13]
gac410What it says is the new Foswiki 1.1.9 disables JQuery "tooltip" and replaces it with "UI::Tooltip" so plugins using the old toolttip need upgrade [18:14]
Paragon1970Right I understand... I'm nearly at the point of giving up on this.
But I don't wont to.
[18:14]
gac410I wish I could help, but I've never touched solr. Note that a ViewTemplate topic only *expands* when it's used while viewing another topic. [18:15]
Paragon1970Do you know what this error actually means?
[18:17:02.363] SyntaxError: JSON.parse: expected ',' or '}' after property value in object @ http://192.168.0.50/foswiki/pub/System/JQueryPlugin/jquery-1.8.3.uncompressed.js:514
[18:16]
gac410Looking at the .solr...ViewTemplate won't be useful. It's the viewing of the topic that has a Set VIEWTEMPLATE
That's really a MichaelDaum question. Sure looks like it is a syntax error in a JSON string supplied by Foswiki.
I think jquery is just reporting that it choked on some other json output
yeah... Something else (not jquery) generated a json string that has a syntax error by the look of things.
jquery is trying to read it and dies.
For example if you look around on Foswiki:System.JQueryAjaxHelper, you can see queries that output json content, for later processing by jquery. Nothing to do with your issue, but examples of it's application.
[18:16]
FoswikiBothttp://foswiki.org/System.JQueryAjaxHelper, [18:22]
gac410Doh... foswikibot, don't including trailing commas :P Foswiki:System.JQueryAjaxHelper [18:23]

gac410Thank you foswikibot [18:23]
Paragon1970gac410: Thanks for the tip. BTW would you hapen to know what version of foswiki Michael's site is running on?
I could attemp to install the same version and see what occurs
[18:24]
gac410No idea. I think it's too late in the day for him and jast. I don't have the time to try to install solr to figure this out. [18:25]
Foswiki:Download.OtherFoswikiInstallers has been scrubbed. Revert if objections. Old installers now found on Foswiki:Download.ArchivedOtherFoswikiInstallers [18:30]
FoswikiBothttp://foswiki.org/Download.OtherFoswikiInstallers [ OtherFoswikiInstallers ] http://foswiki.org/Download.ArchivedOtherFoswikiInstallers [ ArchivedOtherFoswikiInstallers ] [18:30]
Paragon1970Thanks gac410 How about the foswiki.org site version? [18:34]
gac410er... What version? Foswiki: 1.1.9, JQuery 1.8.3 Solr: not installed. I suspect the json error is more a template or macro error on the server side than a jquery or foswiki issue. [18:35]
Paragon1970Right I see. The reason I was asking is that http://foswiki.org/System/SolrSearch is producing more than the same page on my server, albeit junk ;-) [18:37]
gac410Okay. First check. Disable SolrSearchPlugin on your site. Do you get similar junk then? [18:41]
Paragon1970I testest on a fresh new install, out of the box and got the same output. No Solr installed. [18:42]
gac410All that %SOLR stuff is macros that are not expanded because the plugin is not enabled / installed.
So with SolrPlugin DISABLED, if you don't see anything, then for some reason the ViewTemplate is not being used.
See http://foswiki.org/System/SolrSearch?raw=all
Essentially SolrSearch is an EMPTY topic, that is displayed using the SolrSearcViewTemplate
[18:42]
Paragon1970That makes sense
I'm seeing the following %META:TOPICINFO{author="ProjectContributor" date="1332844270" format="1.1" version="1"}%%META:TOPICPARENT{name="WebHome"}%%META:PREFERENCE{name="VIEW_TEMPLATE" title="VIEW_TEMPLATE" type="Set" value="SolrSearchView"}%
oops
%META:TOPICINFO{author="ProjectContributor" date="1332844270" format="1.1" version="1"}%
%META:TOPICPARENT{name="WebHome"}%
%META:PREFERENCE{name="VIEW_TEMPLATE" title="VIEW_TEMPLATE" type="Set" value="SolrSearchView"}%
Its different than http://foswiki.org/System/SolrSearch?raw=all
[18:45]
gac410Right. That is correct. The %META:PREFERENCE is completely equivalent to the * Set VIEW_TEMPLATE It's just a better way of doing it and gets it out of the HTML comment world.
So your version should be fine.
SolrSearchView is a pointer to the topic named SolrSearchViewTemplate ... for ex, older version on f.o http://foswiki.org/System/SolrSearchViewTemplate?raw=all
[18:51]
Paragon1970So my templates are not being converted is this correct?
I just cut and pasted the output from http://foswiki.org/System/SolrSearchViewTemplate?raw=all into a new page under System and it diplays it as text. http://picpaste.com/2013-11-19_18_57_38-TestSolr3___System___Foswiki-dKiYxOWm.png
[18:55]
gac410Hm... %TMPL directives are special. They can't be used in a topic directly.
They exist at a much lower level than the wiki content.
[18:59]
Paragon1970Oh I see [19:00]
gac410And the %META stuff should never be pasted into a topic. the raw=all is the raw SolrSearchViewTemplate.txt file content. To cut/paste a raw=all output, you would need to use a file editor on the system [19:00]
Paragon1970Understood :-) [19:01]
.... (idle for 15mn)
I think it could be failing %TMPL:INCLUDE{"SolrSearchBase"}%
or its the templates are not working.
But I have no idea how to dig into those
[19:16]
gac410The INCLUDE statement looks for the topic System.SolrSearchBaseTemplate.
Templates have a bit of magic. The suffix Template is added automatically
[19:17]
Paragon1970Yep I see SolrSearchBaseTemplate.txt /var/lib/foswiki/data/System [19:19]
gac410If templates weren't working at all, your foswiki would be horribly broken. Everything builds up from templates, mostly in the foswiki/templates directory but also in template topics (topics ending in Template suffix).
I know, this is all horribly confusing.
[19:19]
Paragon1970Yes it it is but its ok ;-)
So I wonder why when I execute http://192.168.0.50/foswiki/System/SolrSearchBaseTemplate for example it actually print the template as wiki page with the directives displaying and resolving them.
I meant to say 'directives displaying but *not* resolving them.
[19:20]
gac410They are all inside <verbatim> blocks so they can be seen. Again, %TMPL directives are not active when being viewed. They are special. It's hard to explain.
The page rendeirng has to process it as a Template *not* as a Topic. When you view a topic, it's not a template. But templates were used to build up the view of the Topics
[19:23]
Paragon1970I see. So do you know what component handles the %TMPL I could start digging further you see :-)
Sure I understand, thanks for your assistance today.
[19:24]
gac410That's part of the Template system. lib/Foswiki/Templates.pm [19:26]
Paragon1970I'm off to read http://foswiki.org/Development/RecursiveTMPLDefinitions [19:26]
gac410Just the fact that your PatternSkin is working, and you can view topics in various views - raw, etc. means your templates have to be working.
Again, if they were broken, your site would be totally non-functional.
[19:27]
Paragon1970Sure, its just the Solr ones [19:27]
....... (idle for 34mn)
jastParagon1970: if you're interested in me having a look at it via teamviewer or something similar, now is your chance, for about ten minutes
I just stayed at work for 3 extra hours, so a bit more ain't gonna make much of a difference... but I'm not waiting forever
OTOH our shiny foswiki extensions deployment system (which is highly specific to our needs) is pretty much ready to roll \o/
[20:01]
Paragon1970jast: Hi and thanks for the offer, sorry for the delay I was installing teamviewer and it just installed loads of junk that has sent my CPU through the roof [20:11]
jastouch :)
the quicksupport version is pretty minimalistic, typically
[20:11]
Paragon1970Its installed some program called TuneUP
But it wont allow me to remove it.
[20:12]
jastpresumably the normal installer has a checkbox for adding that that is enabled by default
the QS version is just a small standalone executable
[20:12]
Paragon1970I was keeping an eye out for such but never noticed it. [20:12]
jastyou could have asked, I would have told you :)
anyway, once teamviewer is running, let me know what the ID and password is, ideally via private message :)
[20:12]
Paragon1970Its not even listed in taskmgr .... [20:14]
jastTuneUP, you mean? [20:14]
Paragon1970sure thing thanks again. [20:14]
jastprobably a service. I can have a quick look at that too, I suppose. why not. ;) [20:14]
don't take too long... [20:19]
Paragon1970Sorry jast [20:21]
jastif now is not a good time, we could try tomorrow [20:21]
Paragon1970Would that be OK with buddy... my machine has been hijacked here. [20:22]
jastwhat's your current time of day? [20:22]
Paragon1970It was in services which I disabled and stoped but its still running. So need to kill it. I cant log off as I have a live webex session going on at a clinet site. so bummer.
Uk
[20:23]
jastoh, good [20:23]
Paragon197020:24 [20:23]
jastit's one hour later here [20:23]
Paragon1970I guess you are too right? [20:23]
jastno, I'm in Germany [20:23]
Paragon1970Europe
Oh cool were about in Germany? I ask as I lived in Muchen for a couple of years.
[20:23]
jastbasically I'll be at work from 8:00 to 17:00 your time tomorrow
I'm in Aachen... so, pretty far from there :)
[20:24]
Paragon1970:-)
It big country!
It's a big country!
[20:24]
jastanyway, during my time at work I can probably set aside a few minutes for this [20:24]
Paragon1970That would be great, thanks. Oh dear I am getting popups now saying my computer is not backed up bla bla bla .... here we go .... HiJackthis! [20:25]
jastman, that sucks
did you download teamviewer from totallylegitdownloadsite.com? ;)
[20:26]
Paragon1970England vs Germany tonight ,,, if your into Football :-)
I think so.
Pretty sure
[20:26]
jastthe official location is teamviewer.com, and I don't *think* they add a lot of crazy stuff to their official downloads
in any case, we provide a no-frills client at http://remote.modell-aachen.de/
so next time you can use that ;) or the official "quick support" version from teamviewer.com which is basically the same thing with a different logo
[20:27]
Paragon1970Damn I just looked .... I feel real dumb ... Fileparade.com or something... I was rushing about... Oh well [20:28]
jastwell, good luck getting it all fixed. I'm gonna go home (in the rain, yay) and have a bite [20:29]
Paragon1970Got it via a google search top hit
Have a nice evening ... well whats left of it :-)
[20:29]
jastyou too... well what's left of it after your computer is alive again
