WhoWhatWhen
SvenDowideitmmm, darn, stupid idea of the day
add a directive to the apache conf so that if the cfg file does not exist, all requests are redirected to configure

foswiki_irc1Hi! I'm looking for Excel-like filtering of tables (e.g. "show me all rows with a certain string in 4th column").
I came across JQDataTablesPlugin which might be able to do what I need.
The documentation of JQuery datatables show a similar example: http://www.datatables.net/release-datatables/examples/api/multi_filter_select.html
Does anyone know if this is possible in Foswiki as well?
[10:49]
MichaelDaumfoswiki_irc1, are you looking for something like this: http://demo.michaeldaumconsulting.com/Applications/ClassificationApp/WebHome
then try JQGridPlugin
[11:02]
foswiki_irc1MichaelDaum: Thanks. What's the difference between these 2 plugins (I haven't looked at the 2nd)? [11:05]
MichaelDaumthey use different 3rd party components
see this demo page of jqgrid: http://trirand.com/blog/jqgrid/jqgrid.html
[11:05]
foswiki_irc1jqGrid looks very powerful indeed. Are all features supported by JQGridPlugin or just a subset? [11:11]
MichaelDaumI didn't manage to try all of them ;) [11:11]
foswiki_irc1I guess I can't just use this plugin on a standard wiki table, i.e. the data has to be organised differently. [11:13]
MichaelDaumwell it tries to. just add a %GRID% macro and a foswiki table will be griddified as good as possible
some things are better suited using a REST handler, i.e. data tabels with lots of rows
there are predefined REST handlers to call Solr or DBCache. but you can also write your own one using a wiki app which then produces the xml data for the grid.
[11:13]
foswiki_irc1OK, well I could try to create the table on the fly (would be better anyway since the information is already available). [11:15]
MichaelDaumah ok
then instead of creating the markup for a TML table using pipes dynamically, it makes total sense to create the xml data for jqgrid and let the widget do its job.
[11:16]
foswiki_irc1It just sounds a lot more complicated that way...
Maybe I have to start with a basic table and see what I can do from there.
[11:24]
MichaelDaumif your data is stored in DataForms, then just provide %GRID with the data form info and let it harvest all data automatically. [11:36]
foswiki_irc1No, not yet. So far, it's one long topic with subheadings which provide the relevant information (or some of it). But I guess it would be best to organise it in DataForms. [11:42]
MichaelDaumor use MetaDataPlugin. so you don't have to create a new topic per DataForm [11:43]

SaschDeVetHello all! Is there a way to include preferences (* Set foo=...) from another topic in Foswiki 1.1.9? [16:03]
***ColasHome has quit IRC (Remote host closed the connection) [16:16]
SaschDeVetSaschDeVet checked the documentation but can't find a way to include preferences from another topic [16:22]

SaschDeVet moved question to stackoverflow: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/20475790/include-preferences-from-a-topic [16:40]
