CDotCDot is depressed how much of a mess cloud storage is. No standardisation anywhere, every service has unique APIs.
Only way to standardise is to route via a third party API gateway, which costs and throttles :-(

CDotthe whole point of the cloud is that it's a "cloud" i.e. you shouldn't need to run your own, it's "just" a service you use. So it shouldn't matter to the client if the docs are on S3, or google drive, or dropbox, or whatever. Right now that's not possible because of the diversity of the APIs (though as I said there are 3rd party gateways) [10:33]

PeterSvendsenHi all, I have an issue after updating my modules (extentions) now the it is no longer possible to create a new user... the "answer" is always - Incorrect WikiName..... is there a way that I can remove the WikiName check until I have a new Foswiki installation up and running? [11:50]

samsa_How can you make natskin to use kinosearch from the default top right searchbox? [14:31]
MichaelDaumsamsa_, have a look at templates/searchbox.nat.tmpl
create a templates/searchbox.kino.tmpl as a copy of it and customize it as needed
then Set SKIN = kino, nat in your SitePreferences
[14:35]
samsa_ah. Thanks.
I was looking at that file, but modifying it felt wrong. :)
[14:36]
CDotJulianLevens: RcsLite faster than PlainFile? Something badly wrong there.....
CDot benchmarks PlainFile consistent with RcsLite on fresh topics, exponentially faster on deep histories
[14:42]
JulianLevensCDot: if you look there were two runs of the test within the same script. In the first test PlainFile was a lot faster in the second RcsLite was faster, some caching incidental or otherwise is involved in speeding up RcsLite
I have a basic framework for benchmarking (among other things) but there's a lot more tests to sort out. A really good test will be to 'view' all topics with different stores providing the back-end.
