Rich_MorinI'd like to be able to search in PDF attachments. Is the Solr plugin the most reasonable option? [00:54]
gac410Rich_Morin: I don't use either, but I think Kino and Solr are the two options. Solr seems to be more recently maintained. [01:00]

GuilainChello everyone, does someone have already done a kind of "google image" for one of his foswiki web ?
search with keyword or "*" and get only image, with a nice presentation ?

MichaelDaum%QUERY does not list hidden attachments :(
wtf
[12:36]
pharvey1it should. [12:36]
MichaelDaumhm now it does [12:37]
pharvey1It actually takes effort to make it NOT list hidden attachments [12:37]
MichaelDaumcrazy
yet another loaded vs unloaded meta obj issue?
[12:37]
pharvey1Are you doing something like QUERY{attachments[attrs!~'.*h.*'].name} or something like that?
I think this is in the query cookbook somewhere
[12:38]
MichaelDaum%QUERY{"'%WIKIUSERNAME%'/attachments" style="json"}%
returns undef on 1.1.9 and the empty string on trunk ... even though there definitely are attachments
[12:38]
pharvey1hmmm [12:39]
MichaelDaumtried with 'web.topic'/ prefix and without. the latter worx. [12:40]
pharvey1here's a query that apparently works (inside a format): $percntQUERY{'$web.$topic'/attachments[name~'*.png' AND NOT lc(attr)=~'h'].name}$percnt
that's a list of .png files that aren't hidden
[12:41]
MichaelDaum'topic'/attachments, and attachments does fine....not so 'web.topic'/attachments [12:41]
pharvey1http://foswiki.org/Development/WriteAQueryCookbook
oh
It can't be a regression
http://foswiki.org/Development/WriteAQueryCookbook#Display_all_non_45hidden_42.png_attachments
works fine on f.o
what about META:ATTACHMENT ?
[12:41]
MichaelDaum%QUERY{"attachments[lc(attr)=~'h'].name"}% is fine ... %QUERY{"'Main.MichaelDaum'/attachments[lc(attr)=~'h'].name"}% is not [12:44]
pharvey1pharvey1 plays [12:45]
MichaelDaumnot nesting it into some %SEARCH ... which could hide a potential loaded-unloaded-meta-obj issue
I am actually using it inside an %IF .. but that should be the same
%IF{"'%OBJECT%'/attachments[attr=~'.*t.*'" then="yes" else="no"}%
[12:45]
pharvey1http://foswiki.org/Sandbox/TestTopic324234234 is working
missing closing "]": %IF{"'%OBJECT%'/attachments[attr=~'.*t.*']" then="yes" else="no"}%
[12:48]
MichaelDaumI am an idiot [12:54]
pharvey1I doubt it [12:59]

foswiki_irc5Hi! Does anyone know if a formatted search can be combined with a FORMAT macro (i.e. FORMAT macro inside the format string of a SEARCH)?
I've got a SEARCH which displays the result in a table extracting the information from DataForms (using $formfield...).
One of the fomfields contains a string of comma-separated substrings which I would like to render individually.

foswiki_irc3Hi! Is there an expert on nested searches and delayed expansion around?
I just don't get it.
[20:51]
gac410foswiki_irc3: I'd offer to help but I hate to admit that that's one of those areas that I always get wrong too [20:56]
foswiki_irc3gac410: I'm glad I'm not the only one who is struggling... ;-) [20:57]
gac410There is an animated example here: Foswiki:System/Macros#Animated_Example [20:58]
FoswikiBothttp://foswiki.org/System/Macros#Animated_Example [ Macros ] [20:58]
gac410Macros evaluate inside out, and left-to-right. You only need the $percent when you want to change that order. [21:00]
foswiki_irc3Thanks. It sort of sounds logical.
My problem is that I don't just try to nest searches but other macros (which might not be nestable).
[21:02]
gac410Hm... I think macros are generally always nestable. That's part of the core foswiki rendering logic. But if a macro doesn't support $percent expansion, then you can't alter the rendering order from the default. [21:02]
foswiki_irc3Using $percentSEARCH leads to a delayed execution but what do I have to do if I need to delayed it even more? [21:03]
gac410There is also $dollar, So you can use $dollarpercentSEARCH or something like that. By then my head explodes. ;) [21:03]
foswiki_irc3I seem to have solved it using an INCLUDE instead of nesting.
Thanks for your help!
Any opinion on FORMAT vs FORMATLIST (FilterPlugin)?
[21:14]
gac410I've not used it. [21:18]
...... (idle for 27mn)
pharveyfoswiki_irc3: FORMAT is nice when you're working with a list of topic names
FORMATLIST has lots more options for filtering and funky regex stuff
FORMAT can do lists of things that aren't topics too, that's just where I see the strengths of each.
[21:45]
............ (idle for 56mn)
foswiki_irc3pharvey: Thanks. I figured I could use both. What about performance? [22:42]
pharveyDepends what you're doing. I'd say you should do your own comparisons if it's a problem.
I seem to recall I had some perf issues on *VERY* large lists with FilterPlugin, that also involved some regex transformation mangling too.
And I fixed it by using a different FilterPlugin feature to do the same thing.
I personally have a preference to use the core macros if possible.
[22:43]
foswiki_irc3I don't need fancy stuff and my lists are very short. So I guess it doesn't matter. [22:44]
