foswiki_irc5Hi. Is it possible to force a new revision copying a topic with CopyContrib? I didn't find any informations on this in the documentation. [12:43]

TarboxHello! I don't suppose anyone can give me any advice on profiling Foswiki's perl code? [19:31]
gac410I've used Devel::NYTProf on occasion. [19:31]
TarboxI'm looking at that. Do you hook it up to apache somehow or do you have a way to run it from the commandline for a test? [19:31]
gac410Usually easiest is to run the script from the shell cd bin; perl -I ../lib view -topic Main.WhatEver [19:32]
TarboxThank you. [19:33]
gac410Of course adding in the options for nytprof which I can never remember off hand [19:33]
Tarboxheh.
It's in one of these open tabs...
-d something
[19:33]
foswiki_irc4I'm sure that this is a less than optimal place to pose a question like this...
I am finding where to use $ notation and % notation very confusing --- I come from a traditional software development background (C, Java)
and the idea of "includes" is a normal idea to me...
is there a single definitive source that explains the vaguries of macros/arguments/parameters with guidelines on what to use which and why?
giving up... bye
