[13:10]
MichaelDaumHi pharvey. Wanna join #foswiki-association? [13:11]
......... (idle for 43mn)
gac410pharvey ... b4 you go. I'll try to contact you about the git / github work sometime in the next week or so if that works for you. [13:54]
pharveysure
While I'm thinking of FW things I'll try to get to that tomorrow

gac410Hi all ... For Foswiki 1.2, we want to start regular release meetings to drive forward the release process
Meetings would be held on irc, probably on this channel.
For time of day, we were thinking bi-weekly 1300Z So starting around 1-1/2 hours ago, and ending around now. That seems to put most of our dev's into normal waking hours.
Anyone here have any opinions?
[14:38]
MichaelDaumI am all for it. [14:42]
gac410Are weekdays or weekends better? [14:42]
MichaelDaumweekdays are better for me, actually [14:42]
JulianLevensSounds good to me
Weekdays that is
[14:44]
MichaelDaumwww.timeanddate.com is really nice to check timezones...maybe together with http://doodle.com/ [14:45]
JulianLevensBTW I have a new server at work on which to install the latest FW. Hopefully 1.2 and it's a linux box :)
How much work do you estimate is required to complete this release?
i.e. do you have target date in mind?
[14:45]
gac410unfortunately probably a lot. There are still a number of serious bugs. And we don't have a translation infrastructure yet. [14:47]
JulianLevensI was afraid you'd say that. I suppose I'll have to install 1.1.9 then [14:48]
gac410Foswiki:Tasks/MinorReleaseBlocker and Foswiki:Tasks/PatchReleaseBlocker [14:48]
FoswikiBothttp://foswiki.org/Tasks/MinorReleaseBlocker [ MinorReleaseBlocker ] http://foswiki.org/Tasks/PatchReleaseBlocker [ PatchReleaseBlocker ] [14:48]
JulianLevensOf course as we're on 1.0.8 that's still quite a jump
I've done a lot of FW development by diving in at the deep end and it's exhausting after a while, there is so much to learn
I'm going to take time to learn some stuff properly, I might actually be useful then
I will help out where I can on the release though
[14:49]
gac410I probably ought to generate an alpha package, so we can make it easier for folks to start testing.
Are there any foswiki translators online?
[14:52]
MichaelDaumthey need an email notification afaik ... most of them aren't on irc. [14:56]
JulianLevensDo we have a foswiki-translation list? Or similar [14:57]
gac410hm... And the email list I used in the past was extracted from the pootle registration page. Which is not accessible any more.
I probably have the last email I sent ... back when 1.1.9 translation work was done.
[14:57]
MichaelDaumthese emails are probably archived somewhere on sourceforge or so [14:58]
gac410At least for 1.1.x where I was rm, they were all direct from me to a manually extracted list. I don't think we have a translators list on sf
or if we do I didn't know about it. :(
[14:59]
MichaelDaumas long as we didnt loose contact with them ... [14:59]
JulianLevensWill Weblate track all translators? [15:00]
gac410I think that the po file might have the email of the last translator logged as well.
Yes. It seems very similar to pootle, but much better scm integration. Translators get direct attribution in the checkin from what I can tell, rather that a TranslationGnome pseudo-id
but from an infra perspective we really need someone to take a deeper dive into weblate features, and determine if my first-glance opinion is valid.
[15:00]
JulianLevensWe need to shake the infra team a bit. Who's really got the time etc? If gmc_ were willing to show me around I could help with that. Of course I'd have to let go elsewhere
He is at least only a short drive away
gmc_ are you listening?
[15:05]
gac410So ... the last translation email I found in my sent folder was from Release 1.1.6.
The .po files have the email address of the "Last-Translator" ... so I can put together an email list. I'll send out an email asking if they want to still be involved.
I've requested sourceforge create a "foswiki-translations" list as "Developers involved in translating Foswiki"
So we won't go through this again.
[15:13]
JulianLevensexcellent [15:16]
gac410And while you were offline: The .po files have the email address of the "Last-Translator" ... so I can put together an email list. I'll send out an email asking if they want to still be involved. [15:17]
JulianLevensI'll make contact with the infra team and become a member [15:20]
gac410Great. Thanks Julian [15:20]

gac410I've got a list of 25 email addresses I'll send an invite to regarding the new translation efforts. Anyone here interested in joining the translation process? [16:09]

You can subscribe to the translations email list here: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/foswiki-translations [16:39]
