MichaelDaumsocfocus, wrt MetaCommentPlugin - you might need to remove rest from {AuthScripts} in your LocalSite.cfg
then: did you install JsonRpcContrib plus its perl dependencies, i.e. JSON?
try perl -MJSON -e '' on the cmdline to test

NewToFoswikiHello, does anyone know why web preferences would be applied to some pages, but not others?
You are here: Minutes Web>WebPreferences>PracticeAdmin167
You are here: Minutes Web>PracticeAdmin166
[08:31]
jastthat's not a question of what preferences are being applied... the bread crumbs path shows you the topic's parent [08:32]
NewToFoswikiWhy would that first one have a web preferences section? [08:32]
MichaelDaumCDot, worx for me :] [08:32]
CDot$.loadTemplate is not defined :-/ [08:32]
jasteach topic can have a parent topic assigned. that parent topic can be defined (and changed) by the user creating/editing the topic [08:32]
CDotCDot has a vanilla checkout [08:32]
MichaelDaumCDot, update your LocalSite.cfg [08:32]
CDotumph [08:32]
jastdepending on your foswiki skin, there should be a button on the topic view somewhere for something like 'more topic actions'
which, in turn, has a button for changing the parent topic
[08:33]
MichaelDaumCDot, it is missing the two JQueryPlugin.*{Template} entries for jsrender [08:33]
jastin any case, it doesn't matter which parent topic you choose; the preferences from WebPreferences will *always* be applied. [08:33]
MichaelDaumJQueryPlugin.*{Render} entries for jsrender
that is
CDot, $Foswiki::cfg{JQueryPlugin}{Plugins}{Render}{Enabled} = 1;
this is the one missing in your LocalSite.cfg
[08:33]
jastman, there must be a better way to handle jquery plugins in the long term... [08:34]
CDotjust saving a new LSC
jast: yup :-(
[08:34]
NewToFoswikijast: hm
its weird because I have a list of pages. They all have a certain date format
[08:35]
CDota simple LSC save didn't fix it [08:35]
NewToFoswikithere are 3 that have a different date format [08:35]
MichaelDaumCDot, it doesn [08:36]
NewToFoswikiand those three also seem to have "WebPreferences" as a parent topic [08:36]
MichaelDaum't pick up the Config.specs of plugins presumably [08:36]
NewToFoswikiwhy dont the other topics show WebPreferences as a parent topic [08:36]
CDot$Foswiki::cfg{JQueryPlugin}{Plugins}{Render}{Enabled} = 1;
is there
[08:36]
jastNewToFoswiki: my guess is that those three topics were created in a slightly different way which may have caused other differences on top of a different parent [08:37]
CDotCDot deletes his LSC and starts again [08:37]
MichaelDaumCDot, see the html sources. it shoud have loaded jquery.render.js and jquery.template-loader.js. [08:38]
CDotnope; started again with a fresh LSC, and it still fails
CDot checks the sources
both those js's are loaded
[08:40]
MichaelDaumopen up the console and type jQuery.loadTemplate [08:41]
CDotno, sorry, temlate-loader was not found [08:41]
MichaelDaum... it is listed in lib/Foswiki//Plugins/JQueryPlugin/RENDER.pm [08:42]
CDotCDot did a git pull and got some updates, but that file is still not there [08:42]
MichaelDaumMichaelDaum checks github [08:43]
CDotok, I had to re-pseudo-install [08:44]
MichaelDaumhttps://github.com/foswiki/distro/blob/master/JQueryPlugin/lib/Foswiki/Plugins/JQueryPlugin/RENDER.pm [08:44]
CDothappy now :-)
MichaelDaum: how do I get it to load the .uncompressed? Even with FOSWIKI_ASSERTS on it loads the .js and ignores .uncompressed.... ?
[08:45]
MichaelDaumset {JQueryPlugin}{Debug} =1 [08:46]
CDotI don't want to debug the plugin. I'm debugging something else altogether. Can't see why switching on ASSERT wouldn't do the same thing :-/ [08:47]
MichaelDaumassert ... shmassert ... whatever flag works [08:49]
NewToFoswikijast: I think i have it now [08:52]
CDotCDot likes things like that to be as simple as possible. I regularly start with a fresh install, and having to remember to swicth that on every time is obviously too much for my small brain :-( [08:52]
NewToFoswikiWe upgraded from a really really old version to 1.1.9 and I think the way things work on this new version is slightly different.
Plus, I didn't actually use the wiki. I just upgraded it.
So I'm very new to the internals of foswiki
[08:52]

well. process, not necessarily accept :)

MichaelDaumgac410, just reviewed it this morning. will check in the fix ... slightly different though
I've also checked any other plugin that might be affected.

gac410anyone there use lighttpd ?
I've been trying to build a config that uses short URL, but not "totally short" :) http://site.com/foswiki/Main/WebHome ... foswiki/bin/edit/Main/WebHome
I've got a working config with short URLs/ (without the foswiki/...
I need to test bootstrap. Lighttpd sets some of the %ENV variables differently from Apache.
We also need someone with Foswiki on IIS to get information on that environment.
[13:03]
MichaelDaumgac410, I do
see http://foswiki.org/Support/LighttpdBestPractice
[13:08]
gac410Yeah I've been going through that. I think that's where I got my running config from.
It uses short URLs http://blah.com/Main/WebHome When I add /foswiki to the rewrite paths, I get 404's on everything.
In my "rewrite once" clause I changed "^/([A-Z_].*)" => "/bin/view/$1" TO "^/foswiki/([A-Z_].*)" => "/foswiki/bin/view/$1"
Or is the right side of the rewrite a file system path? hm... let me try "^/foswiki/([A-Z_].*)" => "/bin/view/$1"

:( And bootstrap is even more broken :P

gac410Brand new clean checkout from git, installed on Lighttpd. I'm getting errors, though everything seems to be working fine:
ERROR: can't load plugin for Theme
