[distro] cdot pushed 1 new commit to master: http://git.io/pitxrg [12:59]
jomonwm - just found: http://foswiki.org/Development/GettingStarted :) [14:18]
ofc (!!!) - never opened any task regarding PSGI.. ;) (not counting the http://foswiki.org/Support/BestPracticeTip24) :) [14:31]
GithubBot[distro] cdot pushed 1 new commit to master: http://git.io/1n-yyg [14:37]
gac410http://trunk.foswiki.org/ runs from a git checkout with pseudo-install. [14:53]
jomo: I think I have the bootstrap process documented now in http://foswiki.org/Development/BootstrapScenarios It goes through which ENV variables are used to establish defaults. [16:23]
jomogac410: for the initial git download i should to use "git clone https://github.com/foswiki/distro foswiki" - now, after some changes in the sources - i again want got exactly the original sources (e.g. want delete all my changes). So, i could delete the whole tree and clone it again with the above command - but SURE here is some git command what will reuse the already downloaded sources and only removes changes... could you help? (if i'm correct this should be [18:46]
gac410http://foswiki.org/Development/GitRepository has some of the info
http://foswiki.org/Development/GitBranchingAndTagging how we are using branches
http://foswiki.org/Development/MoveCodeRepositoryToGit is a big topic, mostly out of date. But 1/3 in is a table of equivalent SVN and GIT. So if you are used to doing something in subversion, that table might be useful.
[18:55]
jomoyet trying exactly follow http://foswiki.org/Development/GettingStarted - but without much success for now... [18:59]
not PSGI (yet)... the main problems are still from the perl location... somewhat the /bin/ contains only some script (what are correctly changed by rewriteshebang.pl - but for example here isn't any /bin/configure (so, probably need run the rewriteshebang.pl more times - or don't know - simply can't get an running foswiki at http://localhost:8080... going to trying more and will ask when got an "specific question".... :) [19:05]
hm.. followed exactly the guide, e.g. step1 (clone) st2 (cd foswiki/core) step 2a (changed the shebang in the pseudo_install.pl, step 3 running './pseudo-install.pl -A developer' - step 3a 'cd tools;perl -I ../lib rewriteshebang.pl' - step 4 running tools/lighttpd.pl; and at step 5 going to http://localhost:8080 got the Main/WebHome logged as "Unknown User", and without any graphics (broken image links) - the page want images as:
http://localhost:8080/foswiki/pub/System/ProjectLogos/foswiki-badge.png - e.g. with the "/foswiki/" before "/pub"... don't understand... ;( something is missing from the Developer's "GettingStarted" ...
[19:18]
not the main problem is: the http://localhost:8080 - gave me Main/WebHome (without any "bootstrapping" and no "configure" link at the top of the page (as said in the step 6) - and the user is "unknown user" (not Administrator)... probably here need some step - what is missing from the Guide... [19:36]
gac410: one small thing - when you want run "perl pseudo_install.pl developer" - need run "perl -T pseudo..." - without the -T you will get a message: "-T" is on the #! line, it must also be used on the command line at ./pseudo-install.pl line 1. - I'm just logged into F.O and edited the http://foswiki.org/Development/GettingStarted topic ... only FYI. [20:13]
gac410: FYI after clicking 1st times to the "configure" link got zilion error messages - here is the screenshot - posing a screenshot because the "error" modal isnt scrollable and looks really bad... http://picpaste.com/screenshot_26.jpg [20:56]
CMD-A select the whole page - but edited out the lines - here are: http://pastebin.com/7Wjf1iJE [21:06]
only clicked the link, what i got in the sentence: visit configure and save a new configuration. - e.g. the link was: http://0:5000/bin/configure?VIEWPATH= [21:12]
that was the 1st click on the link "configure" - e.g. http://localhost:8080/bin/configure?VIEWPATH= [21:18]
gac410: http://pastebin.com/4fiBnkfa - here is what prints the foswiki to lighttpd console... [21:39]
