RaulFRhello :-) [00:17]
gac410Howdy RaulFR ... I've checked it all in and ran xgettext
gac410 crosses fingers, toes, eyes?
[00:18]
RaulFRlol [00:18]
gac410It is Friday the 13th you know [00:18]
RaulFRoh, yes, I forgot that
hahahhaha
[00:18]
gac410Too bad we can't enable registration on trunk.foswiki.org. But I suspect it could cause a real mess. [00:19]
RaulFRyes, I guess for testing the strings, installing from git would be needed
in the meantime, I'll go translate the new strings you fed to Weblate :-)
[00:21]
gac410The javascript front end also makes it hard to actually encounter the templated errors. Most are prevented by up-front checks now. [00:22]
RaulFRok [00:23]
...... (idle for 29mn)
this string has missing closing brackets: https://github.com/foswiki/distro/blob/master/core/templates/registermessages.tmpl#L342
for WikiName
[00:52]
gac410oh crap.... sorry about that. yeah I see it. Obvious now that you point it out [00:53]
RaulFRthe Foswiki syntax for that is not the easiest
lots of square brackets to type there
[00:54]
gac410Well if that's the only issue you spot, I'll have been pretty lucky. [00:54]
RaulFR:-) [00:55]
gac410gac410 trying to get unit tests to pass. Several of these strings broke a couple of tests.
And now discover @#$$* timezone issues. unrelated. Seems to be a daylight savings time issue.
[00:56]
RaulFRin there: https://github.com/foswiki/distro/blob/master/core/templates/registermessages.tmpl#L115 do you really mean "e.g." (meaning that you gine an example) or "i.e." (meaning that you give a further explanation.. it looks like i.e. to me
you give*
[01:03]
gac410gac410 doesn't do english very well .. or is that latin. I guess this should be i.e. [01:04]
RaulFRI think e.g. was there in the original string, you did not alter that
it is not that important
it could be also a valid example
[01:07]
gac410Yeah that one does look like it could be considered an example. I did add an e.g. somewhere iirc. Migh have even been "eg." :( [01:08]

harlanI notice that if I copy a topic that has an attachments table in it the "new" topic has that same attachments table.
If these are both in the same web, I'd guess that if I delete the attachment in one of those tables it's gonna get removed from the filesystem, so even though the other topic still has the link, the file will be gone. Is this the case?
or should I just ask "If I copy a topic, how to I do that without copying the attachment table?"
[08:28]
CDotharlan: when you copy a topic, it copies the attachments. [08:39]
harlanso the attachments in the new topic have different names? [08:39]
CDotno, the same names. Attachments are stored "within" the topic
different directory path, if you like
[08:39]
harlanOK, so if I delete "foo" from TopicA and there is a "foo [08:40]
CDotWeb/Topic/foo.jpg -> Web/Copy/foo.jpg [08:40]
harlanin TopicACopy, it's deleted in the first and still available in the 2nd topic.
got it - thanks!
[08:40]
CDotthere's no way to edit the attachment list on the fly during a copy
that would be.... complex
[08:41]
harlanno worries.
I just didn't need the attachment table in the new copy.
[08:41]
CDotunderstood. unfortunately there isn't even a plugin hook that would let you intercept the copy. [08:43]
harlannot a problem - I can take the original, view wiki text, mark all, copy, go to the new topic, paste. [08:44]
CDot:-) [08:45]
GuilainCCDot, copycontrib doesn't make these tricks ?
(i'm not using int)
int = it
[08:45]
CDotpossibly. I don't use it either. [08:45]
GuilainCharlan, take some time to see copycontrib web page [08:45]
harlan'k, thx! [08:46]
GuilainCI think you can tune the copy
not sure
and please tell us to cdot and me if it's possible :)
[08:46]
harlanI don't need it at this moment (I did the copy/paste trick) but I like to think I'll remember it for next time. [08:46]
GuilainCcopycontrib do all what you want
since you're able to tell it :), so need to have some foswiki macro competencies :)
[08:48]
harlan:) [08:48]
