pauliev42hey guys... I got a whole bunch of topics I need to move from one web to another... is there a better way than moving one at a time? they have the same prefix... [00:50]
...... (idle for 28mn)
gac410I'm not aware of a bulk rename tool unfortunately.
What I did ages ago when I had to split / migrate a web, I ended up using the shell, moving the files manually and fixing them up with sed. Probably not a recommended way

harlanSo the BlackListPlugin says that one can whitelist users, but the descriptions for whitelist only show IPs. Bug or feature?
It may be that the Description stuff talks about "users" while the details all talk about IPs.

jomohello all
jomo is buried in a mound of RFCs. :(
CDot, jast - I updated the http://foswiki.org/Sandbox/JomoAccentsInTheUrl PLEASE, check it. So, I was wrong, the URL should by %encoded. The RFC3986, even explicitly defines the method, e.g. Site characters -convert-> UTF8-octets -%encoding-> %encoded URLs.
[11:12]
CDotjomo: you're only telling me this because I threw away all the code that I had written to do it, aren't you? [11:19]
jomoCDot: :(
me will be silent in the next year.. ;(
[11:23]
CDotnah, don't worry. I kept a patch file, so can re-apply it if necessary :-)
but I'm not convinced it's needed yet. Everything seems to be working (in Chrome and FF, at least)
[11:24]
jomohowever - the RFC exactly says: - the place, where the %encoding should be done - exatly where the OTHER disallowed (ascii) characters are encoded (e.g. fr example the % itself)...
as i write in the Sandbox topic - we don't need do this - at least for now :)
and sorry for the caused confusion big sorry :)
[11:25]
.... (idle for 16mn)
CDoty, I read the RFC. There are two URL components we have to be concerned about; the Web/Topic path, and the parameters (and parameter names). Reserved characters cannot be used in the Web and Topic names (they are effectively restricted to \w, and that never includes URI-reserved chars). Parameter names are already encoded *in most cases*. However there remains a case for a better %SCRIPTURL and %PUBURL implementation that build the URL correctly enc
the problem with that is the vast number of places in .tmpl and .txt files where the %SCRIPTURL{view}%/Web/Topic?.... construction is used.
I have such and implementation, but so long as unicode works in utf8, I'm tempted to keep it back until 1.2.1 (or even 1.3)
[11:43]
jomofor now -in the branch - leave as it is - raw... when otherwise all thing will be cleared - can start thinking on this ;) (as you said - even in this "incorrect" form evenrything seems work...
for example - the wisywig plugin now converting the <nop> into <nop> - (bug) e.g. we need now to have raw characters to catch other errors (IMHO)
also - somewhere already happens the %encoding - ihe raw topic contains [[ČaČa][ČaČa]] and now got to the natedit [[%c4%8ca%c4%8ca][ČaČa]]
[11:46]
CDotI'm working through the WysiwygPlugin unit tests, which are highlighting the errors. I haven't been pushing as I fix them, but will start doing so. [11:54]
jomook - i will report into the 13378 the bugs what i found (have the latest a6a1a11de42ff05cd8d080e7b6e641188af465ac) [11:56]

CDothuh? I applied those ages ago

CDotsadly, one of those patches has broken the Fn_LANGUAGES unit test :-/
two steps forward, one step back
[14:52]
jomofor the unit tests - the language.cache how is made ? at runtime? [14:54]
................. (idle for 1h24mn)
CDotdunno, I've never looked at them [16:18]
jomois possible run only one test? e.g the Fn_LANGUAGES? (me never runs any test yet)... [16:20]
.... (idle for 19mn)
pylearnerI am upgrading foswiki to latest version I want to just exact on top of my currenet implementation how can i backup my skins and settings or is there an upgrade script to accomplish this [16:39]
jomoi'm usually making an brand new installation (on the another port or virtual server), and when everything runs ok - just swithing to productions... also, here is the guide: http://foswiki.org/System.UpgradeGuide [16:47]
CDotyes, sure
perl ../bin/TestRunner.pl Fn_LANGUAGES.pm::test_simple
for example
(I just fixed Fn_LANGUAGES; it just needed a "use utf8"
[16:49]
jomo:)
thx
CDot i saw than you removed some "use utf8" from the sources - ok, they was unnecessary - but the pragma is otherwise harmless - I have it in all my code - only for sure...
[16:50]
CDotremember that some code still has to work back on Foswiki-1.1.9
for this reason, i try to limit where the utf8 pragma is used
though we are close to the point where we can apply it in all core modules
[16:58]
jomoalso harmless... it only says - the source code has utf8 chars.. [16:58]
CDottrue. [16:59]
jomonowhere in the sources are utf - only in the test cases
nwm
[16:59]
CDotCDot really doesn't want to spend time thinking about it :-) [16:59]
jomoother - have you some developemnt server online? wehere i could upload one image?
NFC/NDF problem :( :(
[17:00]
CDotfor utf8? no [17:00]
jomookay, need to find where is handlies the uploaded image name
will need convert it into NFC
[17:00]
CDotseveral places; Engine/CGIsomething [17:01]
jomothe 1st place - after the upload - e.f. THE BORDER ;) :) [17:01]
CDotoh, ok, low level stuff is in the engine
Foswiki/Engine/CGI.pm
[17:01]
jomook - going to try find it... probaby UI/Upload.pm [17:01]
CDotno
that's high level
[17:01]
jomoaha - ok [17:02]
CDotif you search for Encode::decode_utf8 you should be able to find it [17:03]
jomogood idea :) [17:03]
........ (idle for 35mn)
GuilainCjomo, not sure if it what you search, but trunk.foswiki.org should run the latest git commit
(of master branch)
[17:38]
jomoGuilainC: want some show to cdot - and this is special to uf8 branch - at the moment of the upload - so the trunk.fO probably doesn't helps - but maybe yes - going to try.. [17:40]
heh - the trunk screws the NFD-utf (e.g. from OS X) attachments filenames ...
jomo wondering how windows filenames works...
[17:47]
........... (idle for 54mn)
GuilainCjomo you makes test under windows ? [18:42]
jomoGuilainC: no... i havent windows - im on osx. [18:53]
GuilainCok, it was about your windows thinking... [18:59]

harlanI want to %INCLUDE% the %TOC% from another topic, but if I just wrap the %TOC% on the "other" topic in STARTINCLUDE/STOPINCLUDE, the TOC gets expanded in the INCLUDE'd topic, not the TOC of the topic I'm going for. I hope that made sense...
I phrased that wrong.
[20:53]
GuilainCharlan, you can't do it
but
you can ask the toc of an other topic
by passing the topic arguement
%TOC{topic="MyOtherToc"}%
[21:03]
harlanperfect - that way I don't need to %INCLUDE% it. Thanks, I'll try that now. [21:04]
GuilainCoups without topic
%TOC{"MyOtherTopic"}%
see
http://foswiki.org/System/VarTOC
be carreful with toc and include
for two things, what i know toc need to load two times the topic
[21:05]
harlangreat, will do. I'll also see if there's a way to change the default indent level for that usage, as this will be a sub-thing. [21:06]
GuilainCand the other thing, if you have toc in an included topic, he will make the toc of the whole main and included topic... making more time to generate your topic [21:06]
harlanit works OK for this small site - thanks!
yeah, I'm not using %INCLUDE% now - no need for it.
[21:06]
GuilainCneed to sleep
good night all
[21:11]
harlannite - thanks! [21:11]
