jomoTFO still runs iso1? Got this message http://trunk.foswiki.org/Sandbox/ErrorMessageFromAttachmentUpload [04:56]
................ (idle for 1h15mn)
Looking for idea. Want generate one test web with approx 20.000 topic, each with some forms, for performance testing. What SEARCH-es is really difficult for FW in terms of IO operations? E.g. looking for some idea, how i should test (objectively compare) different store backends? (for example RCS vs Plain vs PossibleOthers) It should be easy as possible to create the test-case but should objectively AsMuchAsPossible show the store implementatio
strengts and weakneses. MichaelDaum when you created the PlainStore you probably already have done something such this.. Could you share some ideas?
Or I should create more tests, e.g. one for for example regex search in topic texts, second for history, 3rd for form-query and so on?

gac410gmc_: I opened a bug report for Lieven [15:25]
jomonot found yet (but not tested somewhat systematically) - don't worry, will report when found :) ;) [15:25]
gac410okay I'll leave the task open [15:25]
jomobut here are some (imho new) bootstrap - configure issues... red excalamtion - {Htpasswd}{CharacterEncoding} may not be undefined, {Store}{Encoding} - Unknown store encoding was requested (along with a couple of perl-errors (in the stderr_ not in the browser... [15:35]
gac410yeah. that's on my list. We need to figure out what to do with all that.
I'm puttering through a bunch of translation string errors reported by Lieven on the foswiki-svn mailing list.
[15:35]
jomookay [15:36]
gac410These are simple ... but really difficult to fix.
reworking maketext macros to deal with different word ordering in some languages.
Dev's have had bad practice of building sentences out of translated snippets. That doesn't work
[15:36]
jomothat is the worst work what i could imagine in sw creation...
btw, what is the practive when i found errors in the for example czech translation? where to report or how to correct?
because found than the word: intentional is translated as "international" - a bit diffference :)
[15:37]
gac410If the issue is in the Source string, add a source string comment, and it will be automatically reported to the foswiki-svn mailing list. If it's a translation error, hop on weblate and fix it :)
Or leave a comment for the translator
Do you have an account on translate.foswiki.org?
[15:39]
jomoaha.. ok - need learn about it something :)
no not yet
will create one
[15:40]
gac410Register. Use same email as on foswiki.org
Do you have a github account?
[15:40]
jomoyes ofc (empty one) :) [15:40]
gac410Okay. Best if possible that same email is used on translate.foswiki.org github and foswiki.org And it will all magically sync up.
If they are different, you can add a 2nd email address to your github account to fix that side, and I can add a manual mapping to wikiname in foswiki
[15:41]
jomocool - have the same on the FO, TFO, github - so will add to the translateFO too.. [15:42]
gac410As soon as you create it on translate, let me know and I'll enable your account
So you can actually translate and not just suggest
[15:43]
jomocool - just need find the url - missing from the FO - homepage (from the marketing standpoint - need translators) should be here... [15:45]
gac410http://translate.foswiki.org [15:45]
jomoah - cliked the "third party" - google and the result is error... ;( okay, goind to fill ;)
maybe disable the google-button... if doesn't works anyway ;)
[15:48]
gac410Sorry .. I'm not following that Oh... weblate interface. Hmm [15:49]
jomookay, registerd , confirmed... [15:52]
gac410And you are now an approved user. You should also subscribe to the foswiki-translate email list. It's for messages amongst translators, but very low volume [15:54]
jomoi have really problems with like systems... never known what is what - what is the dufference between "Distribution master" and "Distribution release 1.1"?
okay, thanks - will contribute if find some errors ;)
[15:55]
gac410Ah. Master is the master branch on github. (aka trunk ) Release01x01 is the 1.1.9 branch. Weblate keeps strings in sync. Do all your work in master [15:57]
jomook [15:57]
gac410If the string is found in 1.1.9, it will be updated. This also lets you compare strings between the two branches.
Eventually we'll add some extensions in as well. Weblate is much better than the old Pootle translation engine. Very tight github integration. With pootle we had to just pick one.
[15:57]
jomoi have everywhere 1.2 now ;) - updated all wikis in production before release... [15:58]
gac410cool nice to see the pioneers ... living on the bleeding edge :) [15:58]
jomothe question is - is possible do the translation locally (on my machine i have POedit - what is extremelly good tool (searching online for suggestion with a great accuracy) and only somewhat upload the po file into weblate? [16:00]
gac410I think so. weblate has import/export ... But I've never tried it. As we are getting close (I hope) to another beta, I don't want to live too dangerously :D [16:02]
jomookay :) - that will need only in the furure - for the slovak translation for the czech corrections is ok the weblate.. [16:02]
gac410You in theory could also commit to github directly, and then pull back into weblate. But I'm very reluctant to tinker with the flow. Initially we had lots of issues with weblate's repo going out of sync with the github repo. Current flow seems to be working
I'm also not sure what would happen while you were offline editing. Probably would need an admin to lock the translation to prevent conflicts from other translators.
[16:03]
jomoofc, when the slovak will be online - will do it via weblate - but still isn't - so, (for me) is much better to do locally, with an powerfull tool.. and import it somewhat in the far future.. ;) /no time yet/..
jomo going to brew some coffee..
[16:06]
gac410ah. yeah if you are the only one working on a translation, then sure, offline is fine. Probably best to use weblate export/import [16:06]
***ChanServ sets mode: +o CDot [16:07]
jomohi cdot :) [16:08]
gac410gac410 is hoping he doesn't po the translators as I try to implement Lieven's suggestions for untranslated, or difficutl-to-translate sentence snippets. [16:12]
jomothe "intentional" is already repaired in the czech - so, ok.. ;) [16:13]

gac410okay [16:25]
jomois here any EASY way run the unittests (mean without reading thru 30 pages of doccu)? :) :) [16:38]

CDotgac410: oh, yeah [16:40]
gac410You need to export two variables. [16:40]
jomo"-A"? [16:40]
CDot] if you don't like coffee, subsituting beer is *not* recommended
jomo: ah, yes
I have this in .bashrc
repo() {
export FOSWIKI_HOME=/home/foswiki/$1/core
export FOSWIKI_LIBS=$FOSWIKI_HOME/lib
echo "Configured to use $FOSWIKI_HOME"

gac410CDot I'm manually fixing trunk.foswiki.org. The update script hung while talking to github [16:44]
CDotcd $FOSWIKI_HOME/test/unit
perl ../bin/TestRunner.pl -clean -log FoswikiSuite
[16:44]
gac410Fixed!~ [16:45]
CDotgac410: ta [16:45]
jomook - thanx - goind make changes in bashrc...and etc.. [16:45]
gac410I've seen that happen twice now. No idea why. The log /tmp/install-trunk.log just seems to hang at:
Removing core/tools/yuicompressor.jar
Skipping repository oldConfigurePlugin/
Pulling updates from github
<and that's the end, task running without incrementing cpu. I'm guessing a network issue>
someone smarter than me with bash scripting could probably detect a stuck process ...
[16:47]
Well Lieven left me with a stumper. %MAKETEXT{"Search"}% where Gerrman uses two different words for a verb vs. noun [16:54]
jomojomo just learned two new english words - meaning of the verb and noun... ;) [16:56]
gac410:) [16:59]
..... (idle for 20mn)
So our templates seem to use a mixture of %BUTTON and manual <input type=button ...
gac410 wonders if we should be standardizing on one or the other.
[17:19]
CDotyeah; the manual one. [17:20]
jomogac410: Unescaped left brace in regex is deprecated, passed through in regex; marked by <-- HERE in m/^\$Foswiki::cfg{ <-- HERE Plugins}{AutoViewTemplatePlugin}{(\S+)}\s+=\s+(\S+);/ at pseudo-install.pl line 903, <$lsc> line 1.
;)
[17:20]
okay, it died soon on cache tests - so, should i upload the 20150523172140.log file somewhere? or ?
jomo tried decode wide chars - #09;Encode::decode_utf8("/TemporaryCacheTestsTestWebCacheTests/\x{160}\x{148}\x{e1}\x{13a}\x{13e}/\x{160}\x{148}\x{e1}\x{13a}\x{13e}\x{160}\x{165}\x{11b}\x{159}") called at /me/fw/sites/unittest/foswiki/core/lib/Foswiki.pm line 2154
[17:25]
CDotjomo: no! the log file is for your analysis. There are many reasons the cache tests might have failed. You can stick the log on pastebin if you want someone to have a look. [17:33]
jomook :)
for me the uni-test hasn't any meaning - cos don't underdtand the tests - i just wondered how it will run on OSX.. - now know ;) thats all - i'm not able do the analysys or such... will try again later - maybe something will be meantime repaired :)
[17:34]
CDotunless you pastebin the log, I can't really help. [17:38]
gac410So use <input ..... :( Makes the maketext strings much more verbose to be translated hmpf [17:41]
jomoif interested here is it http://pastebin.com/vGse0r6i - fresh from github - pseudo installed with -A developer [17:42]
CDotjomo: the reason the Cachetests are failing is because the source file is automatically being parsed as utf8 (even though there is no use utf8). Normally wide chars in such a file such a file would be interpreted as bytes. This is easy to work around, but I don't regard it as a big problem - I understand what is happening. ignore it and move on :-) [17:54]
jomook, need learn more about the test - cos i dont know how to "move on" - run the "perl ../bin/TestRunner.pl -clean -log FoswikiSuite" again? probably will die again.. or no? [17:56]
CDotit carries on even after failures.
it's probably still running (unless you stopped it)
[17:56]
jomono not stopped, but died (probably it doesn't moves itself into background) - just started it again
...and died again...
it dies on OS X - but this is too hard for you for analyse without access to OS X..
[17:58]
CDotI just pushed a fix for you. [18:00]
GithubBot[distro] cdot pushed 1 new commit to master: http://git.io/vTQzM

CDotyou can run individual tests e.g. ../bin/TestRunner.pl CacheTests
or ../bin/TestRunner.pl CacheTests.pm
or even ../bin/TestRunner.pl CacheTests::verify_utf8_topic_SQLite_rest_NoCompress
[18:00]
jomook - when dies, this IsTheRIghtWay (™)MD :) [18:01]
CDotno, the tests only die if something really nasty happens
the FoswikiSuite normally runs through all 3,500-odd tests without dying
(see the mails sent out on foswiki-svn@lists.sourceforge.net)
and if you are not on this mailing list, sign up to it
[18:02]
jomoso something nasty happens for me - going to pull and will report/ask.. [18:03]
okay - now still running.. :) - subscription: done. [18:11]
so, the unittests obviously dies on the wide character errors - can go thru any other errors - but the "wide char" IsWhenTheNastyThingHappens [18:18]

CDotI was looking into Item13422, and I think you are right. [18:43]
gac410I want Taint::Runtime as well :(
yeah, no idea why it's slow now. Changing the parent picker to an ajax autofill should have fixed the issue. On foswiki.org I just removed that part of the template :P
[18:44]
CDot*obscenely* slow. [18:45]
gac410is is particular webs or topics?
