MichaelDaum: http://foswiki.org/Download/FoswikiRelease02x00x03 is updated. Not much in highlights though :(
I'll try to compose an email .. .might be better
[15:12]
MichaelDaumhm, not much running text [15:14]
gac410No. It's a pretty small release. Let me try to do better with the last announcement email as a start.
jast. There are uncommitted changes in the french weblate. RaulFR just emailed me. ... Must have done it after I build 2.0.3 though :(
[15:15]

gac410okay jast, Release02x00 is synced up with master. So weblate should be okay to impor it. [15:27]
MichaelDaum_: jast I sent you the draft of the 2.0.3 announcement. There is not a lot of meat to it though ... though for a patch release, that's probably a good thing. [15:32]
jastI would, in fact, trim it even further. the first paragraph is a little over the top for a patch release IMO. [15:32]
gac410yeah. I was wondering about that.
How about... Pleased to announce 2.0.3 Foswiki 2.0 has been shown to be quite stable. With the declining number of new issues reported, Development is now focused on Foswiki 2.1.
[15:33]
MichaelDaumgac410, I am going to trim this a bit down [15:41]
gac410okay [15:42]

jastvery good, just minor nitpicks on the first bullet list: it should be "1 enhancement"; the punctuation of the items isn't consistent [16:06]
gac410yes, looks very good MichaelDaum

LightYearHi all. Thought I'd have a crack at 2.0.3 after hitting bulk_copy dramas with 2.0.0. [21:26]
gac410hi LightYear [21:26]
LightYearGood news is that bulk_copy gets a lot further. Bad news it doesn't actually appear to have copied any data.
Invokation is: sudo perl -I lib tools/bulk_copy.pl --latest '*.WebStatistics' ../wiki_html_1.1.9/bin ./bin
And result is a heap of AUTOCONFIG output.
I can see it recognises the old store (Copying from v1.1.9 (Foswiki::Store::RcsLite)).
[21:27]
FoswikiBothttp://trunk.foswiki.org/System/PerlDoc?module=Foswiki::Store::RcsLite [21:28]
gac410Ah... both wiki installations need to be configured You should not be seeing any autoconfig [21:28]
LightYearAnd the new store "Copying to v2.0.3 (Foswiki::Store::PlainFile)" [21:28]
FoswikiBothttp://trunk.foswiki.org/System/PerlDoc?module=Foswiki::Store::PlainFile [21:28]
gac410is your 2.0.3 system running, fully configured. you can web to it? [21:29]
LightYearThere's an error about the password file not existing, but then the last output is "AUTOCONFIG: Bootstrap Phase 2 bypassed! n/a in the CLI Environment"
And nothing appears to have happened.
The 2.0.3 is a fresh untar.
[21:29]
gac410You need to configure it. Make it a usable system. [21:30]
LightYearOh, I see! I was confused about what point during the install to run bulk_copy, but re-reading the UpgradeGuide, I can see what you mean. Thanks a lot. Will give it a go and report back. [21:31]
..... (idle for 24mn)
uebera||Hi there. Must ask again, forgot whether I brought it up some month ago: According to mailman, I'm still subscribed to foswiki-announce, but the last message I received was about the Foswiki Camp, sent on March 9th. Since I received today's announcement via foswiki-discuss and foswiki-announce is CC'ed--are there any known problems with the list? [21:55]
gac410Hi uebera|| not that I'm aware of ... I'll go look at the status [21:55]
uebera||thx! [21:56]
gac410uebera||: if you could send me a PM with your email ? [21:57]
uebera||Sure. [21:58]
gac410never mind. found it
It's a gmail address?
[21:58]
uebera||ok
Yes
[21:58]
gac410you are subscribed, status looks fine.
Did you check your junkmail?
[21:59]
uebera||Very strange. I regularly check the spam folder (every 2-3 weeks), never found one of the missing mails. [22:00]
gac410Ah... you are set to "not receive duplicates" ... I wonder if that filters when you are on two lists of the same message [22:01]
uebera||AH! That could be it if mailman is "clever". Never paid attention to such a setting.
Then I shall switch that off ASAP :)
[22:02]
gac410That's a guess anyway. [22:03]
uebera||On a second thought... is this something the administrator controls? I don't see that option... [22:04]
gac410hm I can turn it of for you. I thought it was a user config setting.
Well maybe this doesn't apply. When you are listed explicitly in the To: or Cc: headers of a list message, you can opt to not receive another copy fr
Anyway... I turned it off for you.
[22:05]
uebera||Thanks, found the screen in question. And obtained my new password. ;) [22:07]
gac410Unfortunately I can't test it for you without spamming a lot of people ;) [22:07]
uebera||Ah, bad luck. :p
But I never thought about this kind of setting. Glad I asked... now hopefully I can find some time in the course of the week to eventually bring my installation up to date.
[22:08]
gac410We've branched 2.0.3 out from master, and are starting to merge in 2.1 features. [22:10]

RiskRewardHad an idea yesterday and need some tips on implementing. I'd like topic change notifications to be posted to a Slack (https://slack.com/) channel. All I need to do is run a customised Curl command with each notification. Can anyone point me in the right direction to start? [22:27]
gac410There is an incomplete plugin in git ... ImmediateNotificationPlugin. ... It was attempting to be "pluggable" tweet, irc, etc.
I got partway through a facelift and lost energy
[22:28]
RiskRewardThat sounds good. Maybe I could fork it and make a dedicated Slack plugin. [22:29]
gac410https://github.com/foswiki/ImmediateNotifyPlugin
It started out trying to unify a bunch of disparate notifiers.
Very old one ... https://github.com/foswiki/TweetOnSavePlugin I don't think it's released

LightYearAlas, bulk_copy is still failing for me. It still ignores the Webs I've created.
There's an error, but I don't know if it is relevant: "ERROR: unable to use configured DBI in Foswiki::PageCache::DBI:"
[22:36]
FoswikiBothttp://trunk.foswiki.org/System/PerlDoc?module=Foswiki::PageCache::DBI [22:37]
LightYearbulk_copy seems to copy the old TWiki web, but not any I've created. [22:37]
gac410Hm. The PageCache was completely rewritten in foswiki 2.0, so the old configuration probably wouldn't apply.
So your 1.1.x system where you are copying *from* ... are the bin/LocalLib.cfg and lib/LocalSite.cfg both correct with paths for the old data
bulk_copy.pl requires that the bin directory be part of a fully functional system. Doesn't need to be web accessible, but needs to be accessed by the foswikiAPIs.
We had someone the other day failing because the 1.1.x system was a symlink and the paths were wrong for the new system.
[22:37]
LightYearOf course! Let me see if I can correct that... [22:40]
gac410basically *if* you have a bin/LocalLib.cfg, then it needs to point to the 1.1 libs. If you don't have one, you probably don't need it. [22:41]
LightYearArgh, I updated all the paths in LocalLib.cfg, and the result is the same.
Turning on --debug doesn't add any output.
[22:46]
gac410so on your system, ../wiki_html_1.1.9/bin LocalLib.cfg points $foswikiLibPath = to /path/to/wiki_html_1.1.9/lib ?
and ./bin/LocalLIb.cfg points $foswikiLibPath = to /path/to/lib for 2.0 system?
(In most cases you don't need the bin/LocalLib.cfg at all)
The only other thing I can suggest, consider using CharsetConverterContrib instead. Forget about PlainFileStore. and stick with RCS.
[22:49]
LightYearCorrect. /mnt/system/wiki_html_1.1.9/bin/LocalLib.cfg : "$foswikiLibPath = "/mnt/system/wiki_html_1.1.9/lib";" [22:53]

gac410that seems right LightYear ... Does the "/mnt/system/wiki_html_1.1.9/lib/LocalSite.cfg point to all the /mnt/system/... paths to pubDir, dataDir, LocaleDir, etc.
If /mnt/... is a mount point to your live 1.1.9 system, then the LocalSite.cfg for the live system will probably be wrong.
But if you change that you'll mess up the live system.
[22:56]
LightYear$Foswiki::cfg{PubDir} = '/mnt/system/wiki_html_1.1.9/pub';
$Foswiki::cfg{TemplateDir} = '/mnt/system/wiki_html_1.1.9/templates';
$Foswiki::cfg{DataDir} = '/mnt/system/wiki_html_1.1.9/data';
$Foswiki::cfg{LocalesDir} = '/mnt/system/wiki_html_1.1.9/locale';
$Foswiki::cfg{WorkingDir} = '/mnt/system/wiki_html_1.1.9/working';
[22:58]
gac410And if you list '/mnt/system/wiki_html_1.1.9/data, you can see the missing webs? [22:59]
LightYearYep, certainly can. [22:59]
***sandoval has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 250 seconds) [23:00]
gac410If you include an -web <some web> parameter, it should only copy that one web.
udo perl -I lib tools/bulk_copy.pl --latest '*.WebStatistics' -iweb Someweb ../wiki_html_1.1.9/bin ./bin
[23:01]
LightYearTried that too. Thanks for your help. [23:03]

Lynnwood is now known as Lynnwood_ [23:12]
LightYearI tried creating a Web in 2.0 with the same name as a Web I'm trying to import from 1.1.9. bulk_copy then *does* attempt to do the copy, but nothing from 1.1.9 comes over. It's as if it's just copying data from 2.0 to 2.0. [23:14]
gac410I'm really mystified ... I've run it several times while testing it. I'm just not sure where to begin.
The guy who wrote it has been on holidays.
The other option is the CharsetConverterContrib. tbh, I prefer that one over bulk_copy .
It's docs say to use it on 1.1.x but ignore that.
Get your 2.0.3 system running, but use RCS store, NOT PlainFile.
Then install CharsetConverterContrib into 2.0.
And shut down 2.0. (or at least make sure it's not goign to be accessing stuff you are converting).
[23:19]
you can then copy a single data/SomeWeb and pub/SomeWeb into your new 2.0 install, inspect it,
For ex. Say your Winusers web has lots of topics with windows smart quotes. You could copy that web over, and inspect it
perl -I lib tools/convert_charset.pl -i -encoding=cp1252 -web=Winusers
-i is inspect. If you don't use -i, then it will ask you multiple times, have you really backed up, and then will just do it.
RiskReward_: ... you used CharsetConverter iirc?
[23:29]
RiskReward_I think so. Was that the one you recommended? [23:33]
gac410I think so. [23:34]
RiskReward_From memory I tried the script suggested on the upgrade page at foswiki.org, ran into problems, then used CharsetConverterContrib with the leftover problem directory. [23:34]
gac410It's definitely a bit more forgiving / flexible than the bulk_copy [23:35]
RiskReward_I've just gotta go and make some DNS changes (don't want to stuff that up). Be back in a minute... [23:36]
gac410: I'm back. Did you have a question about CharsetConverterContrib? [23:48]
Just refreshed my memory on CharsetConverterContrib by checking my upgrade notes and the IRC logs. Yes, I definitely preferred CharsetConverterContrib. In fact, I recommended changing the upgrade notes on Foswiki.org. [23:53]
