gac410CDot: There is still something really wrong with the regex support in configure, and also in the passing of NameFilter for WebTopicCreator use.. I believe I found and fixed a couple of issues, but it still isn't correct, [13:51]
jastso apparently I just necromantized a contrib. first commit/upload in three years. [13:54]
gac410TeQuillaaaA: What release of foswiki are you on where you cannot read the System.WebLeftBar ?
Congrats jast ;)
[13:55]
TeQuillaaaAgac410: 1.1.9
i think it works until i uninstalled patternskin ...
then i read that is not recommended
[13:56]
gac410Yeah those are part of pattern skin i think. [13:57]
TeQuillaaaAand i installed patternskin new [13:57]
gac410And it didn't fix them?
Ah.... you installed PatternSkin from 2.0 on 1.1.9?
Those topics use a new feature of Foswiki 2.0. .. Wildcard ACLs. ALLOWTOPICVIEW = *
Foswiki 1.1.10 has a compatibilty patch
[13:58]
TeQuillaaaAhmmm
so i have to update to 1.1.10?
[14:00]
gac410How did you even install PatternSkin? Did you unzip it? It should have refused to install.
1.1.10 is a fairly small update, so that might be easiest.
[14:01]
TeQuillaaaAi have installed it via foswiki plugin installer
bin/configure
[14:01]
JulianLevensgac410: Item13918, any reason not to create a Sandbox directory in pub for a quick fix? [14:03]
FoswikiBothttp://foswiki.org/Tasks/Item13918 [ Item13918: Pseudo-install does not create required webs ] [14:03]
gac410Why does pub/Sandbox need to exist? [14:03]
JulianLevensDoesn't the report make that clear? [14:04]
gac410Ah... read the task
no coffee yet ;)
[14:04]
uebera||TeQuillaaaA: If you have a PatternSkin zip and you don't want to upgrade, you're able to identify what you re-installed. After removing those files, you could get yourself a copy of 1.1.9 and see which files are missing. [14:05]
gac410yeah probably quick & dirty is to create pub/Sandbox/README and but don't add it to the MANIFEST [14:05]
JulianLevensok, will do [14:05]
gac410TeQuillaaaA: when you removed patternSkin, configure should have taken a backup. [14:05]
Lynnwoodgac410 - is hosting meeting going to be happening now?
do i have time right?
[14:06]
uebera||uebera|| hopes so, is here for the same reason ;)
No entry in the Foswiki calendar, though.
[14:06]
gac410If you check in working/configure/backup, you should be able to find a timestamped backup.
Right. I could not get it into the foswiki calendar. I don't think I have edit permission.
I'm here for the meeting too.
[14:06]
JulianLevensLynnwood, uebera|| go to #foswiki-association [14:07]
uebera||Ah, thx. [14:07]
gac410ping gmc, are you around today?
CDot: If you can help with the hosting discussion #foswiki-association
JulianLevens: Actually Item13918 is a dup. Somewhere is a task about pseudo linking too high.
[14:08]
TeQuillaaaAIn-place upgrade from any release prior to Foswiki 1.1.0 is not recommended. [14:27]
gac410huh where does it say that.
oh 1.1.0 yeah you are on 1.1.9,
[14:28]
TeQuillaaaAah ... I almost had you [14:28]
where i can find older versions of PatternSkin? [14:39]
gac410Foswiki.org/Extensions. Have to view the 'revisions" of attachments, and download manually [14:40]
TeQuillaaaAok [14:41]
cant find it ... i think i am blind [14:46]
gac410http://foswiki.org/Extensions/PatternSkin At bottom of page, attachments table. Click manage for the attachment to find the old versions. [14:46]
TeQuillaaaAyes ... i have to log in ;) [14:47]
i think my password is outdated or i forgot it [14:53]
gac410System/ResetPassword .. or is it PasswordReset I never can remember [14:54]
TeQuillaaaAwaiting for password reset mail
now I just have to know which file is correct
ok have it
[14:56]
.... (idle for 19mn)
thanks for your help ... patternskin restored [15:20]
..... (idle for 23mn)
CDotYou say in your Item13917 checkin that the problems are not resolved, but you haven't updated the task to say what problems are outstanding :-( [15:43]
FoswikiBothttp://foswiki.org/Tasks/Item13917 [15:43]
gac410CDot. yeah... I know. Once we get off the meeting. It was 1am when I gave up last night.
The issue is in the javascript WebCreateor. The valid perl regex \\ and \s (filter backslash and space) removes the letter s from names and does not remove backslash
I had to use 5 backslashes to get the webToipcCreator to work
I think that we need the regex to be valid perl, and then fix up JQueryPlugin/FOSWIKI.pm to properly build the equivalent javascript
So my last checkin on 13971 seems to work correctly in Sandbox/WebHome and create a topic. But I don't understand why.
And \\\\\s just does not seem right.
[15:44]
CDotit isn't. Javascript learned it's RE support from perl. The RE's should be pretty much identical in both.
if something is massaging the RE, chances are it's getting it wrong :-(
[15:53]
gac410It's built in FOSWIKI.pm and the only thing there is a call to to_JSON (or something like that) [15:56]
CDot ... no something really strange. After bootstrap with my latest patch.
$Foswiki::cfg{NameFilter} = '[\\\\\s*?~^$@%`"\'&|<:>\[\]#\x00-\x1f]';
LocalSite.cfg: '[\\\\\\s*?~^$@%`"\'&|<:>\\[\\]#\\x00-\\x1f]'
%NAMEFILTER%: expands to [\\\s*?~^$@%`"'&|<:>\[\]#\x00-\x1f]
And that all works.
So from a regex perspective that is correct. What's broken now is that the "reset to default" is wrong.
Reset to default changes it from : [\\\s*?~^$@%`"'&|<:>\[\]#\x00-\x1f] to [\\\\\s*?~^$@%`"'&|<:>\[\]#\x00-\x1f]
So reset to default doubles up just 2 of the backslashes. from 3 to 5 leading, but nothing else is touched.
I think it's really close.
But attachmentNameFilter behaves differently.
[16:01]
.... (idle for 16mn)
Is it a specific message or are you unable to see the archive. Working fine for me. [16:23]
uebera||Oh. No, I don't get to the archive. [16:24]
gac410It may take a while for sourceforge to propagate.
Sometimes I wonder if we should consider hosting the email lists on our server, maybe with sympa - it's much nicer than mailman, and uses MhonArc for archives
I'd give it a few hours, or overnight, log out and login and try again.
[16:24]
uebera||ok, will try that. It's not urgent. [16:26]
LynnwoodI got the same thing when trying to look at the foswiki-infra archive. [16:29]
gac410Yeah, I'm pretty sure it is just internal propagation delays between the sourceforge internals.
I get the same thing if I use a different browser where I'm not logged in to the list.
[16:29]
....... (idle for 30mn)
Lynnwood: uebera||: I can't figure out how to actually view the archives of a private list. Sourceforge doesn't prompt for login, [17:01]
..... (idle for 20mn)
uebera||There is a login on every page, though. Using the credentials for the list didn't work, so I wanted to try that again tomorrow. [17:21]
gac410No that login needs a sourceforge account. Probably if we are forming an updated infra team, you all ought to be admins on sourceforge too.
List login (with a clear-text password ...yeesh) is separate from sourceforge accounts
[17:21]
uebera||OTOH, the interface is not very user-friendly IMHO. Maybe one of the subscribers could produce an export of his/her own to download. [17:22]
gac410It's not a download Mailman is just a web viewable rudimentary archive. [17:22]
uebera||Yes, but once you're a subscriber you have a local archive you can export using Thunderbird/Outlook :) [17:23]
gac410There is a way for an admin to download the entire list in mbox format though. [17:23]
LynnwoodI just tried updating a test installation from 2.0.1 to 2.0.3 and am getting an error message now "Storable binary image v18.68 more recent than I am (v2.8)" [17:23]
uebera||Now we're talking :) [17:23]
gac4102.0.2 requires that the tmp/cgisess_* files be removed [17:23]
Lynnwoodah. thanks
i was think it was a perl module update required.
[17:23]
gac410we changed format from Data::Dumper default, to storable.
The dumper style cgisess files do not play well with unicode / utf8 ... storable does though.
It's in the release notes :D
[17:24]
Lynnwoodah yes...
i had read the Upgrade section but not the release notes.
maybe a note in Upgrade notes pointing to important messages in release notes.
all of those notes should be noted but i think deleting the cgisess files is the only one that's guarenteed to bite everyone.
[17:25]
gac410It's in the UpgradeGuide under "Prepare for upgrade" Review the Release Notes and learn about the differences between your old installation and the new release to which you are upgrading. Take note of any areas that affect your site and what special steps you may need to take.
It's really hard to figure out what to highlight where, and how.
without duplicating everything
[17:30]
Lynnwoodyea
true enough
[17:31]
gac410we have info on the Download page, InstallationGuide, UpgradeGuide, ReleaseNotes, and I've been trying to figure out what to put on a github release download page.
pandoc can convert from html to markdown ... works pretty well. It also supports twiki -> markdown ... but not so well.
There is also the welcome README.md on github.
[17:31]

MichaelDaum_: did you get the draft of the beta announcement. Just wanted a bit of feedback before it goes to foswiki_announce Thx [19:56]
MichaelDaumgac410, hi [19:58]
gac410howdy [19:59]
MichaelDaumsorry for the lag [19:59]
gac410I suppose I could have actually put something in it asking for feedback too though ;) [19:59]
MichaelDaumdid you see the bloggification of the translation announcement?
http://blog.foswiki.org/translations-needed-for-foswiki-2-1/
note that there is already a "happy new year" in there
;)
[20:00]
gac410no I didn't oops [20:00]
MichaelDaumother than that the text is just fine
I also posted it on twitter and facebook
[20:01]
gac410That translations email only went to the small list of existing translators. This one will go to the wider announce list.
but yeah I guess we are geting a bit past newyear now.
[20:01]
MichaelDaumof course
well
those channels are there to be penetrated
[20:01]
gac410"posted it" it being the draft 2.1 beta, or the translation request [20:03]
MichaelDaumthe translation request
I don't rush it until you sent it to the ml
[20:04]
gac410btw did you see that even following your link to the foswiki google calendar, it didn't seem to want to let me add events. I clikc add event, and there is a drop-down that selects which calendar to use, and it only lists my personal calendar [20:05]
MichaelDaumhave you got the html sources of your draft email? [20:06]
gac410hm I just composed it in thunderbird. [20:07]
MichaelDaumsomehow copy&paste doesn't transfer html to the wordpress editor [20:07]
gac410I just did a view source., and it seems to be a wiki-markup source. uses * for bullets.
Oh... no got it.
Sending you HTML source in email
[20:07]
MichaelDaumencoding problems:    Add +"more" and key+"more" options to macro arguments. [20:12]
gac410Yeah... I see the same thing viewing the source. No idea why [20:12]
MichaelDaumhow about you go to blog.foswiki.org and create a new posting? [20:12]
gac410Okay. I'll do that. [20:13]
MichaelDaumthen we can edit it together [20:13]
gac410okay.. then I'll use that as the email. [20:13]
MichaelDaumping me when ready and I'll have a look over the draft [20:14]
gac410interesting. My cut/paste worked fine. huh
http://blog.foswiki.org/?p=749&preview=true saved as a draft
[20:15]
MichaelDaumalright. may I take over editing? [20:18]
gac410yes sir [20:18]
MichaelDaumcurrently locked by you, says wordypress [20:18]
gac410hm okay lemme look [20:18]
MichaelDaumI could just click on "take over" [20:19]

Okay. Want me to send it?
[20:29]
MichaelDaumyes lets do it [20:31]
gac410okay. Actually please post first. We can make sure all the links work, unless you already did that. Then I'll send [20:31]
