WhoWhatWhen
GithubBot[distro] vrurg pushed 1 new commit to Item13897: https://git.io/vovXm
distro/Item13897 cf86898 Vadim Belman: Item13897: Tests up to HTMLValidationTests...

vrurgHTMLValidateTests purpose is not relly clean to me... [00:20]
gac410It looks for malformed html
unmatched open/close,. etc.
[00:20]
vrurgviewfile generates 404 and this is considered ok. Is it the way it supposed to be?
Yet, the way it makes 200 from, err – undef? don't remember exactly – is somewhat odd.
[00:21]
gac410well viewfile normally returns an attachment so there would not be much purpose in validating the attached file. But the 404 is a html message I suippose. [00:22]
vrurgOk, I see the point. Thanks!
Then it seems to be a test for Oops output. :)
[00:22]
gac410I don't remember what the undef -> 200 conversion was about. I recall it was confusing. [00:23]
vrurgIgnore it. As the whole concept of capture() has been changed it's not relevant anymore.
What is interesting that it seems that together with PSGI we can get rid of slurping a file into memory and simply return IO::Handle.
PSGI will take care of it.
[00:24]
gac410cool. (for viewfile I take it?) viewfile is a terribly performing script. though the extension for xsendfile is much better. [00:26]
vrurgBut another PSGI concept – returning of a coderef for delayed response – we might not be able to implement for a while.
viewfile, yes.
[00:26]
gac410would be nice I suppose if viewfile would just use xsendfile header if the server was capable. Maybe psgi even does that
web server file serving will always be faster than Perl's (I assume)
[00:28]
vrurgI think it should. Though it would make no difference with IO::Handle return as this will be server-performed too.
When I say return – I mean return from the handler sub to PSGI server.
Ok, I'm done for today. CU!

Lynnwoodgac410 - you around? [18:53]
I'm in and out myself. Currious if you've heard back from Sven. About all DH offered was to contact the account holder and encourage them to be in touch with us. [19:02]

gac410Hi Lynnwood ... Sven said he was checking, are you on the infra mailing list? [19:56]
uebera||Lynnwood: If you're referring to the blog--Sven sent a mail this morning, it's his account; apparently DH changed the blog server's IP address. [19:57]
gac410Ah... it's back... Great. [19:58]
uebera||I've sent a mail to foswiki-infra in the morning but that did not show up yet due to a problem with the local SPF settings. Nice side effect: got that fixed as well. :p [20:04]
