foswiki_irc1after installing v2.1.2, when I restore foswiki directory structure (/var/www/foswiki/) from last backup, the welcome page reports realease 2.0.2, how can run latest release with old backup? [09:06]
If I restore only /bin and /pub I get some errors, that's why I restored all directories [09:12]
I still get some warnings like "Can't find topic"
someone could help me with that?
[09:17]
..... (idle for 21mn)
how can I rename Sandbox to Sandboxes? I'm guessing that's why I get the warnings [09:38]
...... (idle for 28mn)
Sandboxes is not the problem, apparently foswiki can't find the WebLeftBar when I click on any topic [10:06]

foswiki_irc8Hi! I am trying to combine a %SEARCH{...}% with an %IF{...}% meaning if the search gets any results, a certain table including extra text around it should be displayed, but if there are no results, nothing should be displayed at all. Can anybody help me with this? [12:47]
OliverKruegerfoswiki_irc8: What have you tried so far? [12:52]
foswiki_irc8Well... Searching for some example on the net, and of course just putting the search as conditional in the if-statement. But that does not seem right.
Unfortunately the contents to be shown or hidden is not simple text, but a heading and a TWISTY-macro, so I am wondering if it is possible.
[12:54]
OliverKruegerfoswiki_irc8: I haven't done that in ages, so maybe you might want to ask somebody else here. Reading the docco makes me think, that IF is all about comparing VARIABLES and MACROS, not comparing text to text. [12:58]
foswiki_irc8Yes, that's the reason I am writing here. I was thinking about storing the search results in some kind of variable and then checking for that, but I don't know how. I am not that good with foswiki. [13:00]
OliverKruegerBefore there was the IF macro some people used the SpreadsheetPlugin and CALC to accomplish that.
5-10 years ago... ;)
[13:02]
foswiki_irc8Hmm... that would mean to rewrite all the already existing searches
Right now there are many sections in our wiki with just no content (the searches don't find anything) and just empty headlines. I would like to hide these.
[13:03]
OliverKruegerNo, not rewriting the SEARCHes. Just nesting them into CALC statements instead if IF statements. [13:06]
foswiki_irc8Ah... I guess I look into this macro then. [13:07]
OliverKruegerCALC{"$IF("%SEARCH{}% != '', foo, bar)
maybe eq and ne instead of == and !=
not sure about " and ', too.
[13:10]
TitanOfOldIn regards to a dataform, I have 2 inputs that offer a list of items to select from. Can I have both as bullet lists within the dataform, or do I need to make separate topics to keep the bullet lists in?
I seem to remember seeing an example of this somewhere, and now I can’t find it.
[13:14]
OliverKruegerMy new shiny Ubuntu keeps bugging me about the deprecation of CGI qw(:any). Is there any chance to run an old Foswiki 1.1.9 under Ubuntu Xenial (Perl 5.22)? [13:16]

foswiki_irc6I'm sorry but I don't get it. CALC returns a result based on a mathematical function. How can I use this to handle the search result? [13:20]
OliverKruegerfoswiki_irc6: Well, its so long ago. Maybe I mixed something up. Sorry.
I thought you can abuse it for that.
[13:22]
foswiki_irc6Okay, thanks anyway. Maybe someone else can give me a hint later. [13:23]
OliverKruegernp [13:25]
TitanOfOldfoswiki_irc6, SEARCH has a zeroresults parameter. If you do zeroresults=off, you should get no output. [13:28]
foswiki_irc6I read about the zeroresults-parameter, but it only affects the results itself, does it? I want to hide the heading (---+ The Results are...) before this search. [13:30]
TitanOfOldfoswiki_irc6, oh, you want to suppress the heading, too, not just the header row. [13:31]
foswiki_irc6yes. and a TWISTY-macro surrounding the possible result-table
Maybe there is a way to just calculate the number of the results and store this in a variable? Then the IF would be trivial.
[13:31]
Need to leave now :( maybe tomorrow another try.
Bye

TitanOfOldSo, I want to be sure I get this right, whatever I pass as topicparent to the save script, it’ll look for a topic withing the same web?

jastif you don't include a web name, yes [16:02]
