WhoWhatWhen
foswiki_irc3hello
please let me know what this means
[Fri Oct 21 17:06:35.621301 2016] [core:error] [pid 3137] [client 172.30.1.170:61278] AH00027: No authentication done but request not allowed without authentication for /pub/System/TinyMCEPlugin//tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/inlinepopups/editor_plugin.js. Authentication not configured?, referer: http://something.org/bin/edit/Modeling/WebHome
I am not sure why clicking on edit on a page pulls up a blank edit box
[00:13]
gac410foswiki_irc3: ... looking .. [00:14]
foswiki_irc3i just migrating webs from our old 1.xx version
i also setup fastcgi though i am not sure i did that correctly
[00:15]
gac410Hate to say it - no idea. I can't find where that message is coming from.
Regarding Fast CGI - if you go to System.FoswikiServerInformation (as an admin) and it shows the Engine as FastCGI you are probably configured fine.
Okay, the message is generated by Apache. How did you configure your apache server?
[00:16]
foswiki_irc3Yes, I can see "Engine Foswiki::Engine::FastCGI" [00:18]
FoswikiBothttps://trunk.foswiki.org/System/PerlDoc?module=Foswiki::Engine::FastCGI [00:19]
foswiki_irc3I used the config generator
I suspect that editing pages became a problem when i moved to fastcgi but i am not sure
I also have ldap authentication
[00:19]
gac410okay. The message seems to be saying that apache is not configured correctly. Are you using Apache authentication, or Foswiki login [00:19]
foswiki_irc3that seems to be working fine to authenticate a user
I used apache config generator
[00:19]
gac410I understand that. when you ran the config generator, did you choose Template Login, or Apache Login? [00:20]
foswiki_irc3apache login
which generated this
<LocationMatch "(attach|edit|manage|rename|save|upload|mail|logon|.*auth).*"> Require valid-user </LocationMatch>
[00:20]
gac410hm Maybe we have a bug in the config generator. Or you've changed something. Taking tinymce and javascript out of the picture. If you just enter bin/viewauth/Main/WebHome do you get any errors? [00:23]
foswiki_irc3when I go to bin/viewauth/Main/WebHome, I couldn't authenticate user for some reason [00:25]
gac410okay, so something wrong in the apache config.
I don't have a setup to test apache 2.4 with apache auth currently. :(
[00:26]
foswiki_irc3[Fri Oct 21 17:24:28.083085 2016] [core:error] [pid 3144] [client 172.30.1.170:61536] AH00027: No authentication done but request not allowed without authentication for /pub/System/TinyMCEPlugin//tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/fullscreen/editor_plugin.js. Authentication not configured?, referer: http://intranet2.org/bin/edit/Main/WebHome
No problem, I think I will just roll back from fast cgi
I will first complete migration using cgi and then worry about fast cgi
[00:26]
gac410okay. I'll see if I can set up a server to test the 2.4 fastcgi apache auth config. Maybe I typo'd something when I updated the generator for Apache 2.4 [00:28]
foswiki_irc3sure, thank you! [00:29]
gac410: I moved our old Main web as you had advised
so that i copy the contents of Main shipped with foswiki 2.2 over the migrated main
now, I get this warning
[00:35]
gac410Are you using CharsetConverterContrib to convert from the high ascii characters to utf-8 [00:36]
foswiki_irc3Warning: Can't find topic System.WebLeftLowerBar
Yes, I used convert_chartset.pl script to convert each individual web
[00:36]
gac410System.WebLeftLowerBar is something you added locally. You'll need to find that topic in your old system and migrate it.
If it's just plain old ascii, no need to run CharsetConverter on it.
[00:37]
foswiki_irc3I see, I will try that, thank you
I have migrated old main, after this I dont see the "webs" section in the lower left hand side
Ideally, I would like for the webs to appear on the top like in foswiki.org
[00:38]
gac410(It could have come from a plugin/skin/contrib too, but I've never heard of that name. [00:39]
foswiki_irc3Is there an easy way to do that?
I think, it is a custom thing that was added
Can I just get rid of it?
[00:39]
gac410No idea. Depends on how your site uses it. Simple enough to copy the "oldfoswiki/data/System/WebLeftLowerBar.txt to the newfoswiki/data/System directory.
The perl command: perl -nlE 'say if /\P{Ascii}/' < oldfoswiki/data/System/WebLeftLowerBar.txt
will tell you if there is anything non-ascii in the file.
[00:41]
foswiki_irc3sure, I will try that, thank you
Is there an easy way to get all webs on the top of a webpage like in foswiki.org?
[00:42]
gac410Its a custom menu. I have to go look to see how we did it. And of course, "All the webs" might be a lot. We just put the important ones on the top. [00:44]
foswiki_irc3I see
thank you
[00:45]
gac410See https://foswiki.org/System/PatternSkinThemeFatWillyNavigation
And the SitePreferences setting: Set PATTERNSKIN_NAVIGATION_TOPIC = System/PatternSkinThemeFatWillyNavigation
(Don't ask me where FatWilly comes from, I have no idea, but those are topics we use on foswiki.org layout
So I'd recommend you copy the PatternSkin,.... to a name that makes sense for you. YourCompanyTopNavigation and then set it in the SitePreferences
[00:49]
foswiki_irc3: indeed something isn't right in the fcgi config for apache authentication. I'll work on it. :( [00:58]
foswiki_irc3No problem gac410!
I got the ldap authentication to work. However, when I login, it says "Hi mynamecompanycom" for some reason
[00:59]
gac410foswiki_irc3: unfortunately I know almost nothing about LDAP [01:05]
hm Finally got my apache 2.4 ubuntu test VM running with latest ApacheConfigGenerator, Apache Login, Fcgi, and it all seems to be working :( Not sure what's going on for you.
I'll keep poking at my config, see if I can see anything unusual.
[01:10]
foswiki_irc3Maybe its got something to do with ldap
Thank you very much gac410. I will try applying pattern now
have a good weekend!
[01:15]
gac410okay good luck foswiki_irc3 ... you too! [01:25]
foswiki_irc3: I found the problem!
the LocationMatch clause doesn't include the url prefix.
hm but Your LocationMatch you pasted in was different from mine. still looking.
[01:33]
Anyway, ApacheConfigGenerator generated: <LocationMatch "^/+(attach|edit|manage|rename|save|upload|mail|logon|.*auth).*"> Which does not match the bin or foswiki/bin prefix
I changed mine to <LocationMatch "^/+bin/+(attach|edit|manage|rename|save|upload|mail|logon|.*auth).*"> and it causes authentication for edit now.
