zak256Hi there. Is the only way to edit a "label" field value in a DataForm to edit the file by hand in the filesystem, or is there any other way? [09:08]
GuilainChi zak256
DataForm is define by your own topic
then you can in this topic that define the dataform change the label
if you do that, the information will be lost, as simple as foswiki don't track the rename
for exemple if you have 10 topcis with an old definition with the label "topic"
and this label "topic" you change to "subject"
you will have to update the 10 old topic with the old definition to update the field definition, especially the change in the field name
hope to be clear, I remember when I was beginner it was not so easy concept to catch
[09:14]
zak256Hmm... I don't know if I understand correctly... just a sec [09:18]
harlanIs there a way for an admin user to impersonate another user without knowing their password? I'm trying to test out access permissions. [09:27]
zak256GuilainC: Ok... so I do *not* want to change the label _name_, I want to change the label _value_. [09:28]
I think I will just switch from type 'label' to 'text' for a short time in the Form definition, edit the label-value, and change the type back to 'label' afterwards. [09:35]

jastharlan: if you have shell access to the server, you can edit your session file (named after your session ID, located in in working/tmp/). in recent versions it uses the Perl Storable format, I think, so you'd probably have to write a bit of Perl to read in the file, edit the user field, and save it back. there is no built in way to do this as far as I know. gac410Thanks JulianLevens
Cool ... saves me a bunch of cutting / pasting.
I really should do a much better job of summarizing the meeting in the topic. But I've gotten lazy.
[14:54]
JulianLevensy, it's understandable though it more work than meets the eye [14:55]
vrurggac410: Considering how much you do 'getting lazy' is definitely incorrect here. :) [14:56]
gac410Very difficult to summarize without casting my own opinions over the discussion. [14:56]
...... (idle for 29mn)
zak256Can anybody help me with some CSS? We have an old PATTERNSKIN_THEME_VARIANT css file in a Foswiki 1.1.2 installation which I am trying to use in a new 2.1.2 installation. The css file includes the styles described here: https://foswiki.org/System/PatternSkinCssCookbook#I_want_to_change_the_height_of_the_top_bar
the problem is: In the new environment the height-attribute-value is added below the TopBar.
Is it possible, that the definition described in the CssCookbok should be changed for recent Foswiki installations?
I am just comparing the classes between the versions and see differences there, for example patternTopBar is included directly within patternPageShadow in Foswiki 2, but in Foswiki 1 it is patternPageShadow->patternPage->patternTopBar
[15:25]
gac410We should have updated the cookbook if changes were needed. But it may have been missed. I *think* I changed the top bar on a site I migrated.
I'm trying to figure out what the heck I did
[15:29]
zak256I am trying to find it out for some time now, any hints would be helpful, thanks!
On foswiki.org, the height attribute is set in 'variant_foswiki_noframe.css' but is only set for #patternTopBar and #patternTopBarContents
If I remove the three #patternClearHeader* classes from the definition, it seems to work.
[15:30]
gac410Not sure, and just discovered the site I manage is completely broken. yikes.
okay fixed ... something wrong with my rewriting for compressed css/js etc. Now back to your question. I've got to look a bit.
[15:33]
zak256I just added height:75px to #patternClearHeaderCenter and #patternClearHeaderLeft using the Firefox tool on foswiki.org and now I see the same error there.
It seems, that #patternClearHeader* shouldn't be included in that definition in the cookbook, but a second opinion would be good, maybe it's just by accident.
[15:37]
gac410It appears that is true. Still don't understand what the heck I did on my site - hard to remember yesterday never mind a year ago. :( [15:45]
zak256You mean you did something similar on your site, or the compressed css/js problem? [15:46]
gac410Fix to compressed issue I understood. Upgraded to apache 2.4 last night. But 1.x to 2.x upgrade was a year or so ago [15:47]
zak256okay. But then I will remove those three classes and hope nothing else breaks sometime. Thanks! [15:48]
gac410I did a number of overrides - created my own theme. Set PATTERNSKIN_THEME_VARIANT = /pub/Main/PatternSkinThemeBlue/variant_foswiki_noframe.css
But the difference between variant_foswiki_noframe.css in my theme vs the shipped version is
Just the px size difference Those extra lines in the cookbook are not needed I guess
I didn't really follow the cookbook Just copied the existing variant and edited what I wanted changed.
(If I had followed the cookbook I would have fixed it. oops)
[15:48]
zak256Well... I wouldn't have looked, if it didn't break the layout :-/ [15:51]
***JulianLevens has left [15:51]
gac410Anyway, my css has gradually evolved from a Foswiki 1,0 site - 1.1 -> 2.0 -> 2.1 with tweaks along the way. I just copied one of the Foswiki themes and jiggered with it until it worked. I'm by no means a CSS dev. [15:53]
zak256I guess it's common that those stylesheets get complicated the more you adapt and improve. Nevermind, I am happy it's solved now. [15:55]
gac410So I think, the cookbook should just drop the 3 Clear dfinitions. Just #patternTopBar, #patternTopBarContents { height and overflow } [15:56]
zak256Yes, from my point of view, that fixes it. [15:56]
gac410okay I'll make a documentation patch for 2.1.3 Thanks. (Our developer who was the PatternSkin wizard, changed jobs. so no longer volunteers :( )
we are always looking for a few good volunteers to help out ;)
[15:57]
zak256Hmm... I hope there is still enough contribution to keep things going.
Well if I find anything, I gladly help.
[15:59]
gac410oh yes, we are very busy with other stuff. Just focus shifts over time
Foswiki 2.0 was a huge effort with the utf-8 / unicode enhancements. there are proposals lined up for 2.2, and there is an experimental 3.0 branch under development with major changes internally trying to modernize a very old codebase
[15:59]
zak256That sounds cool.
I need to leave soon unfortunately. See you later. Thanks again.

gac410vrurg: Quick question - are you happy with the Item14205 email wizard branch? If so, I'll get it merged. Thanks. [17:32]
FoswikiBothttps://foswiki.org/Tasks/Item14205 [ Item14205: Autoconfig Email failing with recent versions of IO::Socket::SSL ] [17:32]
vrurgIf there were patch for the from/to issue – I didn't test it yet. But if things are the same as they were last time – merge it.
The blocked delivery issue could be addressed later.
[17:34]
gac410The from/to is in a different item branch, so I'll need to merge them both. From/to is pretty simple, so I'll merget that as well.
Gets rid of example.com from the wizard test. Uses WikiWebMaster and if configured, WikiAgentEmail
Anyway, that one should have no impact on os platform. Simply a new email address and template token/macro.
thank
[17:35]
vrurgOk. I had to delete the other VM with FreeBSD, so unless needed won't do another test. [17:37]
gac410okay. no prob. too bad though. [17:38]
vrurgI have another vm almost ready, it's only apache is not configured. I can prepare it and re-test if needed. [17:43]
gac410Not at this point. Don't go to any trouble Once I have an alpha pkg ready, it will be installed on foswiki.org, and having a wider testing of it would be great. [17:44]
vrurgok. good luck! [17:45]
