MichaelDaumHi Markus
any news about the blog?
I'd rather have it in place _before_ announcing 2.1.3
[09:26]
uebera||No, I haven't heard anything (waiting for/with George). And indeed, the blog should be the place where to announce the new version. [09:29]
MichaelDauminstead of using wordpress we could use BlogPlugin
maybe in a separate foswiki instance
at least this tech isnt as alien as wordpress
[09:34]

uebera||If it doesn't exist already, we could start by creating a new topic (with Community.InfrastructureTaskTeam as parent) for brainstorming in order to list pros/cons. [10:03]
MichaelDaumwe've been there already years ago

[10:05]
uebera||y, just found Community.BlogCentral [10:08]
MichaelDaumwe need to archive some of these pages
too many stale discussions
it doesn
't seem to be rocket science to revive the current wordpress blog: http://blog.foswiki.org/wp-admin/
yes

jastgotta love crashing databases
filesystem intervention needed
[10:13]
MichaelDaumyea, well, who knows [10:13]
uebera||I thought this was a hosted, multi-tenant service? But then, I really only care for the contents and the transition. [10:14]
MichaelDaumit only needs to run for one last blog posting before migrating it [10:15]
uebera||That was the plan last year, yes. :) [10:15]

foswiki_irc9I use TWiki but am concerned by its lack of support. I found the FOSWiki page which says there is a simple upgrade path to FOS from TWiki. So ... where do I find instructions? [12:47]
jastthis should be it: http://foswiki.org/Support.UpgradingFromOlderTWikiReleases [12:52]

gac410Hi all. Quick reminder. Foswiki 2.1.3 Beta1 is available from https://github.com/foswiki/distro/releases/tag/FoswikiRelease02x01x03_Beta1
Things like Bootstrap need testing. A number of issues addressed including some support for Proxy configurations

CraftsmanshipIs there an option to export stuff from the foswiki.org to my local instance, in case I want mess about with Tasks? [19:24]
gac410no, not really. You can get the "source" of any topic with the "?raw=all" option - that will give you a text file you could save to disk.
There is the Foswiki:Extensions.BugsContrib which is the forerunner of the Tasks web.
[19:25]
FoswikiBothttps://foswiki.org/Extensions.BugsContrib [ BugsContrib ] [19:26]
Craftsmanshipoh. [19:27]
gac410Tasks has evolved quite a bit since that was released though :( [19:28]
CraftsmanshipYeah.
I guess the ImportExport thing isn't much help either
[19:28]
gac410no we don't have that installed either. [19:29]
CraftsmanshipReading its own self-description, it sounds like it wouldn't make much difference. [19:29]
..... (idle for 21mn)
The security docs say I should "Disable editing in System, _default, _empty, and Trash webs" ... what are _empty and _default for? [19:50]
gac410_default is a template used when creating a new web. _empty has even less in it than _default, used for creating a very minimal web.
They should all have correct default security.
[19:51]
Craftsmanshipit's odd that _empty doesn't turn up in the webs list, but _default does [19:59]
gac410not sure ... I've never really used that one. [20:00]
Craftsmanship_empty isn't in "Create from" either ... maybe it's just historical [20:00]
gac410hm. As admin, I just visited System.ManagingWeb on my test system, and _empty is listed in the template webs.
neither of them should be in the regular web list. Just when asked for the templates
[20:01]
CraftsmanshipI'm running the vmware image
Foswiki-2.1.2-vmware.7z
Aah, if you point a browser at /_default it shows up in the menu
[20:02]
gac410Okay. I'll have to check. I am running a git checkout. Can't really boot up the vm right now - up to my eyeballs in a server rebuild. [20:03]
Craftsmanshipso you don't feel scared and lost, I suppose.
heh, computers. amirite?
[20:03]
gac410great fun. My gentoo system fell behind, so 505+ packages to rebuild. [20:04]
CraftsmanshipWell, at least now I know you brought it on yourself by picking gentoo [20:05]
foswiki_irc5probably a simple fix however, Greetings @gac410 , I have a problem with the login page, what happens is when I login it redirects with a 401 and goes to https://website/wiki/bin/login , afterwhich I am able to login to go to /WebHome
this is for foswiki 2.1.2 , apache 2.2 , rhel 6
behind a proxy/reverse proxy , 443
so the problem is that the user has to login twice to get in through
[20:06]
gac410on phone... [20:08]
foswiki_irc5np ill brb thanks
no rush :D
ok nvm please disregard the 401 error, there is no error
[20:09]
gac410foswiki_irc5: Not sure what the problem could have been. ... but sounds like you have it handled. [20:12]
.... (idle for 18mn)
CraftsmanshipHowcome I have a tab for TWikiCompatibilityPlugin when i've disabled it?
(under /bin/configure)
[20:30]
gac410in bin/configure it shows all configuration data, enabled or not.
(In some cases you might want to configure something before you enable it)
[20:31]
CraftsmanshipBut TWikiCompatibilityPlugin appears in 2 places, that's the bit that bothers me
well, i guess the "module name" bit isn't really a config of the module itself
[20:35]
.... (idle for 15mn)
foswiki_irc5@gac410 how do I modify the entry point for the wiki such as placing an automatic redirect when joining the first page?
do you know what the "index.html" is for foswiki 2.1.2?
[20:51]
gac410Hi, we usually do that directly in apache - by rewriting the empty request to the desired page. [20:52]
foswiki_irc5ah ok thanks [20:52]
gac410index.html is a "starter page" used for new initial installs and can usually just be deleted [20:52]
