dnelhi, I performed a plugin update on my 1.1.9 install and button icons stopped working, the references appear to be correct and lead to the correct image file in /pub. Any thoughts what might be causing this? Icons not on buttons work fine still [12:57]
***ChanServ sets mode: +o cdot [12:59]
jastwhich plugin(s) did you update? [13:13]
dnelquite a few different ones, probably not had updates in a couple of years. jquery was on 1.9.1 which I updated and reverting this hasn't change anything though
the icons in use on buttons are DocumentGraphics

cdotjast: any reason we shouldn't merge the M-A fork of SafeWikiPlugin onto the distro for that plugin? [15:12]
Lynnwood__Greetings all - Does anyone know how to add a "boostquery" to SOLR_EXTRAFILTER? I've tried just adding it but can't seem to get it to work. [15:15]
jastcdot: makes sense, I guess... my plan was actually to put everything in the FW extension repo but I guess I got confused at some point [15:21]
Lynnwood__Related to that first question, does anyone understand the solr search syntax well enough to understand how to makes a negative boostquery. e.g. lower preference given to particular factors. [15:22]
cdotjast: can you issue a pull request? That might help George [15:22]
gac410There is one confusing divergence from the foswiki repo logs ... https://github.com/modell-aachen/SafeWikiPlugin/commit/8fadaa660c81317b63fb47214061c0ec5c76f299
It seems to be an import of the whole plugin after establishing a new root. Really tough to follow.
[15:22]
cdotoh wow; someone had really big muddy boots on when they did that! [15:23]
jastthat's an artifact caused by Foswiki's Git migration [15:24]
gac410oh... okay. [15:24]
jastwait, actually it's not [15:24]
gac410So nothing lurking down in there? The commit before that one is the tip of our repo. [15:25]
jastanyway, you can cherry-pick instead of merging to avoid ending up with the same weird structure
and sorry but I can't issue pull requests, I no longer work at Modell Aachen
[15:25]
gac410I think I know how to merge this... Basically clone it into a new branch and then either merge or cherry-pick Been a long while since Ive done something like that though [15:27]
jasthmm, interesting to see the dev work happening at MA from an outside perspective. they've resumed work on UnifiedAuthContrib with a vengeance, it seems... [15:29]
gac410cdot, I did a git fetch release/riga:riga from the MA repo, and a gitmerge riga into master. It's a simple fast forward
want me to push it?
[15:40]
....... (idle for 33mn)
cdotgac410: you do whatever you think is right. I just think it would be good to have a nice clean and fresh pair of SafeWikiPlugin underpants available, should we ever need them. [16:13]
jmk0Having some trouble making wiki links. I have a web with multiple subwebs, and a topic that provides links to the subwebs. That topic is %INCLUDEd at the web level as well as the subweb level, but only works at the web level. Links are of the form WEB/SUBWEB/WebHome but in the subweb get turned into WEB/WEB/SUBWEB/WebHome
Am I doing this wrong? Is it a bug? Should I be doing it entirely differently, e.g. generating a dynamic list of subwebs?
[16:18]
gac410cdot, I didn't push SafeWiki ... I think cherry-pick may be the better way. the merge seemed to discard all of the history, the bottom of the "tree" became that new root commit
Finally had to delete my repo and re-pull
[16:27]
jastthat's hardly ever actually necessary, but then again I probably use Git a lot more and know all the tricks :
:}
[16:28]
gac410Well I had no local changes, so wasn't actually a big deal
After the merge / fast forward, I was 11 commits ahead. I wanted to go undo the merge. So I started with reset HEAD^ --hard. and 2 commits went away. Repeated unitl the git status said there were no commits "ahead" of master
and "git log" showed only the root commit from the ma repo.
history was gonzo
[16:29]
jastyou can do stuff like 'git reset --hard origin/master', too [16:43]
..... (idle for 22mn)
gac410cool that's a good one to remember. Backing out of a merge is one that has always given me a hard time. [17:05]
.... (idle for 17mn)
cdot ... I don't want to collide with you. It looks like I can cherry-pick the Modell-aachen commits to SWP. Probably best so I can amend each commit with an Item number. Want me to get it done? [17:22]
cdotye please
yes
please
[17:22]
gac410okay. Shouldn't take too long. I'll open a task first [17:22]
GithubBot[SafeWikiPlugin] gac410 pushed 8 new commits to master: https://git.io/vymMu

Lynnwood__Hey gang - I've been working on doing some instructional videos on installing and setting up Foswiki. I have my first attempt at one up on you tube. It's not a public url: https://youtu.be/D4fJ7uFhYQ0
To be honest, I view this first attempt at pretty much a bust... for a number of reasons. I'm planning to chalk this one up to practice and start again.
I'm going to break it up into smaller chunks. Also, I'm planning on doing two related videos that go before this one - one for installing on shared hosting and one for installing on dedicated server (or VPS).
If anyone is so inclined and has time to watch this, I'd welcome any feedback and suggestions. Really, feel free to tear it up. I'm committed to going through with it and may or may not take all feedback. But i'm pretty dis-satisfied with this first attempt.
In initial intent is to help walk someone through the installation process and show it's not as difficult as it might appear from first glance at installation instructions. This isn't to slight the install guide... I just suspect that it can be somewhat intimidating to first-time users.
My bottom-line intension is simply to get more folks to try out Foswiki.
I am making some notes about reasons why I think Foswiki is a great platform to sprinkle through the presentation.

gac410Hi Lynnwood__ ... sounds cool. I'll try to give it a look and let you know. Clearing up confusing installing Foswiki is a great addition. [21:12]
Lynnwood__thanks gac410 - that's my intent. I'm looking at this as a learning process so i'd value any and all feedback - content wise, pacing, etc. [21:13]
gac410I have not looked at it yet, but your comment about "smaller chunks", I'd give it at ++1 ... Where I worked they liked to do hours long training. Where as what I'd look for is something that covers a specific need / subject. [21:14]
Lynnwood__yea. I've giving a try right now breaking that one up into 3 ~9 minute segments and doing some cleanup. [21:15]

gac410Lynnwood: You are making the email setup way too hard. Just put in smtp.gmail.com, user, password, and click autoconfigure No need to enable email or touch the expert settings.
Don't need the 587 either. It *should* figure it all out.
Other things. I usually set a super admin password in Security&Auth Passwords tab.
It's very good though for sure!
I usually just stay right in configure and hit the errors, warnings, define the Configure users & admin passwd, hit autoconfigure for email, and save.
