gac410Hi all, I've updated the HttpsRedirectPlugin to make it a bit more aggressive in redirecting to https on foswiki.org. For now the new version is released to Foswiki:Extensions/Testing.HttpsRedirectPlugin [03:17]
FoswikiBothttps://foswiki.org/Extensions/Testing.HttpsRedirectPlugin [ HttpsRedirectPlugin < Extensions/Testing < Foswiki ] [03:17]
gac410It will now redirect to https for any {AuthScripts} request, And for any request that would force authentication - such as viewing a read restricted topic.
It's installed, and I'm not seeing any issues on foswiki.org. But if anyone notices anything awry, please let me know.

JulianLevenscdot, gac410, Lynnwood_: did you see my email ref upcoming GA [12:42]
gac410hi JulianLevens .. yes [12:42]
cdotDidn't see the email, but did see the appearance of the topic on f.o [12:42]
JulianLevensOk, just with no reply I wondered if the email hadn't arrived [12:44]
gac410Do we have the email we sent last year?
gac410 goes looking
[12:45]
cdotI edited your agenda topic; thought that acted as sufficient acknowledgement :-) [12:46]
JulianLevensSorry, not on the ball enough and didn't see your update
gac410: found email auspiciously dated 1 Apr last year
How easily can we set up a foswiki list for active members?
[12:48]
gac410okay... I just paid my dues ;) [12:51]
JulianLevens:thumbs-up: [12:52]
gac410JulianLevens: we already have a mailing list - foswiki-members ... marked private, on sf [12:54]
JulianLevensAre the members of that list up to date? [12:54]
gac410There are 36 emails on the list.
It will take a while to figure it out
[12:55]
JulianLevensHmm, it might be easier to dump those and add back the 11 known good ones [12:56]
Lynnwood__JulianLevens - yes i saw it. I'll pay my membership later today.
thanks for the prompting!
[12:56]
gac410Well the members list is probably past and current. If it's for reminders, etc I suppose its better to keep them on then drop them. [12:57]
Lynnwood__gotta reboot computer... brb [12:57]
gac410First one I check, cdot is not on the list. unless you have a different email address [12:59]
JulianLevensDepends what the list(s) are for, i.e. Foswiki-discuss for any body who registered an interest and foswiki-members for 'Active' members as per association rules
There's also the 'supporting' members concept
[13:01]
gac410All it says is 'Foswiki Association Members' Looks like it has seldom been maintained. [13:02]
JulianLevensChecking emails again, I also sent an email to 'supporting' members. I suppose ideally we'd have one list for each
Basically anybody can ask to be a supporter
[13:03]
gac410Last time that email list was used was for the 2014 meeting. [13:04]
JulianLevensDo I have access to update the list and/or create a new list, then I could sort this mess out [13:05]
gac410Looks like OliverKrueger was the only one who was sending to that list.
JulianLevens: do you have a sourceforge account?
[13:05]
JulianLevensGood Q, I think so, but it's been a while [13:07]
gac410I could make you and admin if you have one. Otherwise you need to sign up.
drats... I don't have the password to that list. I'll have to request a reset.
[13:07]
JulianLevensMy userid is jmlevens [13:09]
***ChanServ sets mode: +o Lynnwood [13:10]
gac410Okay, you are now an admin on the foswiki project on sourceforge [13:12]
JulianLevensThanks [13:13]
gac410Maybe we ought to take up this discussion on #foswiki-admin [13:13]
JulianLevensSure [13:15]

cdotLynnwood: try and join foswiki-admin again, see if Markus' magic worked [15:17]
Lynnwoodi'm trying.... [15:17]
OliverKruegerOliverKrueger updated the finance web. [15:17]

OliverKruegerWe - the free world - have to start somewhere... ;> [15:18]
Lynnwoodlol [15:19]
cdotHas anyone else noticed that their mobile phone texts are getting seriously delayed over the last few days? Or is it just our paranoid government demanding that every text is read by a cyborg monkey in Cheltenham? [15:29]
gac410Not noticing a delay on this side of the pond - not that I text very much. Though I've seen huge delays between carriers vs intra-carrier messages. [15:30]
uebera||OliverKrueger: re finance web update: \o/ [15:33]
OliverKruegeruebera||: What else do you need? Do you have access to Paypal? [15:43]
cdotgac410: y, the intra-carrier problem is a common one. But we've noticed problems with infra-carrier too (since Westminster, I suspect). [15:56]

jmk0Is there a tool to do the following: Given a set of wiki links in a web, replace the links that are not linked to a specific version with a link to the latest version of that document [17:24]
gac410er... Aren't wiki links always to the latest version ... unless they specifically have a ?rev= param [17:25]
jmk0yeah, but if I want to fix those links to a specific version that is the latest at a given time
in this case, a requirement links to a specific version of the design document. The document may change as a result of later requirements, but the earlier requirement shouldn't link to the later design document changes
[17:26]
gac410oh. hm not that I know of. You'd need to get the latest rev of every link, and then update the link to a specific version. [17:27]
jmk0right. That's what I was wanting ;-) [17:27]
gac410cdot, have you seen anything like this ... seems consistent with things like the Workflow or Approval plugins. [17:28]
cdotit's something we discussed at length and depth some years ago. But no one was able to get any support to do it, so it just evaporated.
case in point: DocOne@REV1 links to DocTwo@REV99 and should *always* link to DocTwo@REV99 even when DocTwo@REV100 exists
[17:30]
jmk0hmm the workflow plugin is interesting and gives me ideas. Maybe it's possible to use forms. Say the design document has a requirement field, and the requirement links search for the most recent design document that's associated with itself
would that be possible with a structured search? Starting to look at it myself, thought someone might know ottoth :)
[17:31]
cdotjmk0: you *could* build another versioning system on top of FW.
for example, you could *checkpoint* (tag) all documents at certain revision points
and write searches based on those tags
[17:32]
jmk0iirc, cdot gac410 and I talked about a few weeks back and y'all convinced me it wasn't viable :) [17:33]
cdotit's viable. Just quite a lot of work. [17:34]
jmk0might have been someone other than you, cdot
might be less than trying to retrofit doxygen to generate foswiki topics :-D
[17:34]
gac410That was a discussion as treating a whole web or webs as a repository I thought. [17:34]
cdotpersonally I'd want to use some sort of search acceleration - for example, DBIStoreContrib or DBCache. [17:34]
jmk0do those have their own search interface? I've not used them, will look at those as well [17:35]
cdotDBIStoreCOntrib accelerates standard search. DBCache has a couple of front ends, DBCachePlugin and FormQueryPlugin [17:35]
jmk0dbquery
k
[17:35]
cdothorses for courses. DBCachePlugin gives some pretty powerful formatting. [17:36]

jmk0wait, just to be sure I'm not barking up the wrong tree again, is it even possible to search all revisions of a topic? [18:05]
gac410jmk0: Doesn't look promising at least for native code. Not sure if the db cache extensions would help
See Foswiki:Development/QueryAcrossTopicRevisions and Item10121 neither of which were ever completed.
[18:11]
FoswikiBothttps://foswiki.org/Tasks/Item10121 [ Item10121: Query across topic revisions ] https://foswiki.org/Development/QueryAcrossTopicRevisions [ QueryAcrossTopicRevisions ] [18:12]
jmk0not sure, gac410, the Query* link looks like it might resolve the issue
unfortunately it's in 2.0 which we're not using yet
[18:15]
GuilainCGuilainC think he has try to do something... several years ago on a field only... ? [18:17]
jmk0yeah field would probably be fine
SvenDowideit gets it :-) "and please don't forget that addressing a specific rev is the least useful interface into the object history - more useful are before 'date', first after 'date' and between 'date' and 'date', followed by first, last and previous."
[18:18]
gac410The QueryAcrossTopicRevisions is a parked proposal. Nobody ever completed implementation. The commits on the task were reverted I think. [18:21]
jmk0oh :(
lol: "No (see also: no)."
ah, i see the "parked proposal" state at the end now :(
[18:21]
...... (idle for 28mn)
RevisionLinkPlugin is surprisingly simple
the implementation that is
though i guess it doesn't have to actually pull the topic text itself,it only provides a link
[18:52]
It looks like there's nothing at the API level that would support the queries, unless you use getRevisionAtTime for each rev of a topic and query it directly... probably not the most efficient approach [19:01]
........ (idle for 35mn)
gac410jmk0: I was sure I remembered a task about versions search issues. Finally found it: Item10149 [19:36]
FoswikiBothttps://foswiki.org/Tasks/Item10149 [ Item10149: =versions= query w/SEARCH, RCS store = hang ] [19:36]
gac410It's not really a hang, just accessing old versions via RCS is very very slow. Not much to do about it I gather. [19:36]
