JulianLevensReminder to anyone interested to join the General Assembly in 10 minutes on #foswiki-association [10:50]
gac410ugh this is early :( [10:50]
JulianLevensSorry, gac410, I'll try to shrink the Atlantic for the next GA [10:52]
gac410:) good idea [10:52]

gac410While everyone is hanging around. I think we have to drop the whole idea of running Foswiki using only the CPAN Contrib
I've been trying to run Foswiki from a clean perlbrew installation, using only the CPAN that we can bundle in CPANContrib. (ie no architecture specific code).
The issue is the need for HTML::Parse and HTML::Entities. They cannot be installed in a "pure perl" flavor. And we have no control over the latter.
[14:02]
MichaelDaumgac410, well once you run perlbrew (me using plenv but thats mostly identical) ... why run CpanContrib. Installing cpan packages is alot easier using cpanm within the local perl. At least that is the case for plenv integrating cpanm very nicely. [14:05]
gac410CGI has a "require HTML::Entities" when any generation of a textarea is used.
No. Not trying to actually test with perlbrew. Trying to simulate a "host" where the absolute minimum CPAN is installed.
The assumption being that I can take a system in whatever state. Install CPANContrib and get a usable foswiki.
[14:05]
MichaelDaumoic [14:07]
gac410I disabled Wysiwyg, NatEdit, so only the original plain text editor existed. Changed Store to remove the "use HTML::Entities" and reworked a few other things. But as soon as you hit edit, CGI.pm crashes with missing HTML::Entities. [14:07]
MichaelDaumI wonder what it is used for [14:08]
gac410CGI::textarea used to generate the edit text area, encodes HTML entities
I still need to change all the scripts They have a "use CGI::Carp" which now that it is unbundled, causes compile errors before setlib establishes the @INC overrides
[14:08]
Oh,.. sorry MichaelDaum ... CGI::textarea is called go generate a view=raw. Looks like textarea is used view, Form and PreferencesPlugin
So if we remove those particular uses of textarea for generation, and create them ourselves, maybe we can get by this for non-wysiwyg use
[14:22]
we get more damn spam registrations related to Essay writing. [14:31]

zak256The "header" of a search is only printed when results are returned. Is this documented somewhere? I cannot find it? [15:29]
................ (idle for 1h15mn)
gac410zak256: Do you have either zeroresults or noempty parameters specified?
I'm just guessing .. maybe completely wrong though, that suppressing output might suppress headers as well.
[16:44]
zak256gac410: Everything is working fine. If no results are found, header-parameter is ignored apparently. I was just wondering where this is documented, because with footer it seems different.
or is it? I am confused right now.
[16:46]
gac410zeroresults says if set to off, false or 0, then suppress ALL output when no hits. otherwise it displays the summary and number of topics = 0. It doesn
't mention effect on headers.
[16:49]
..... (idle for 24mn)
zak256It's not that important. As I said everything works as expected. I am leaving now. Have a nice weekend everyone. [17:13]
gac410you too [17:13]
LynnwoodAnyone know what happened to jquery ui-draggable in recent releases? It seems to have disappeared and yet I don't see anything in Task web about it being removed. [17:23]
gac410It seems to be there. At least ./lib/Foswiki/Plugins/JQueryPlugin/UI/DRAGGABLE.pm exists, along with the js. [17:26]
LynnwoodThat was going to be the next thing i was going to check.
It's _not_ listed in the JQueryPlugin topic, nor does it show up in the list of jquery plugins in configure.
[17:26]
gac410MichaelDaum is probably the only one who would know for sure what's going on. He does all the jq plugin maint [17:27]
Lynnwoodyep...
since he isn't around, i guess i'll take a look at how the JQueryPlugin recognizes it's plugins.
i thought it was simply based on subdirectories in the pub directory.
[17:28]
gac410appears to have been removed in 1396af42011255d27c04f4848900b270226bc15c [17:32]
Lynnwoodsorry... link? [17:33]
gac410The code wasn't removed, just the setting from Config.spec. Hang on ... gotta figure out link [17:33]
Lynnwoodthat's exactly what I was beginning to deduce. figure it had to be the config.spec [17:34]
gac410https://github.com/foswiki/distro/commit/1396af42011255d27c04f4848900b270226bc15c [17:34]
Lynnwoodthanks! [17:34]
gac410I bet it's a typo. Damn. maybe need a 2.1.4 sooner than later.
probably just add that line back in: $Foswiki::cfg{JQueryPlugin}{Plugins}{'UI::Draggable'}{Enabled} = 1;
[17:34]
Lynnwoodyep...
that particular commit is odd because it removed some lines and added others but they don't exactly correspond.
[17:36]
Much better :-) [17:45]
gac410If you could open an urgent task, that would be great. [17:46]
Lynnwoodi will. I'm going to check if there were other problems there. [17:46]
gac410too bad that part couldn't be dynamic - and add the config on the fly based upon the directory content. [17:47]
Lynnwoodyea that would be nice. But would it be relevant anywhere except JQueryPlugin? [17:48]
gac410we do plug in in some places, The Languages settings for ex.
But I'm not all clear how it works.
There are a few other pluggables that present dropdown "choose one" type settings -- Store, ACLs, ... maybe more.
But languages is the only one I can think of that presents a bunch of checkboxes.
[17:49]
LynnwoodMichaelDaum was taking about making NatEdit plugable... [17:52]
gac410yeah, though thats probably different, in that you'd want individual users to chose their editor, not a site-wide config. [17:53]
Lynnwoodi was thinking he was talking about option to add extra features to editor or such. I could see that implemented as plugin
plugable options
[17:54]
gac410I think it was an ability to chose editor. CKEditor, TinyMCE, and a couple of others [17:54]
Lynnwoodlooks like ui-draggable was the only thing lost in that check-in.
even though others were rearranged.
[18:04]

gac410Hi JulianLevens ... I see you were kicked from foswiki-admin. we really need to write up how to add an id to a channel I never can remember [19:01]
JulianLevensy, I wondered about that [19:10]
gac410Really to be secure, Anyone added to a channel should first have a "cloak" - to prevent spoofing. foswiki/developer/gac410. But a project "GC" whatever that is has to request them, and I have no idea how/who/what

JulianLevensI discovered a while ago about properly identifying yourself to irc with a password and all [19:15]
gac410Babar did it last time for us.
Y, at one point I was setting my nick but had not set a password. And discovered someone else using my gac410 nick.
[19:15]
JulianLevensThat's surprising, I would have thought gac410 is pretty unique
After a good day in Foswiki-land, goodnight

uebera||Probably wishful thinking, but does the FoswikiBot allow to relay messages to users once they return to this channel? [20:12]
gac410hm Not that I've ever heard of, but I don't know much about the bot [20:13]
