cdotMichaelDaum: you around? [09:30]
MichaelDaumhi there [09:30]
cdotI have a requirement for a way to enable a number of <input> statements based on the value of another <input>. So, if I select "A" I want <inputs> X, Y, Z. If I select "B I just want X and Z. If I select "C" I want X and Y. Get the idea? Any suggestions?
oh, and I want this without any embedded <script> in the page (though <head> script is OK
it would be easy to do with a bit of JS, but if there's already a jQuery plugin, that's what I'd prefer.....
[09:31]
MichaelDaumAttachContentPlugin is the best way to write javascript inline, create a script.js automatically, and then put it into the head using addtozone
no there is no prebuild plugin
you have to write a few lines of js yourself
[09:33]
cdotthat's what I was afraid over. OK, thanks anyway. I thought maybe Twisty might do it :-( [09:35]
MichaelDaumbest would be to group elements that should appear / disappear together by css classes
twisty - shmisty
[09:35]
cdotI can't, because the sets are not discrete. They overlap.
well, I could I guess.....
all I'd really need is some sort of "show/hide when a <select> has this value"
[09:36]
MichaelDaum$("select").change(function() { var val = $(this).val(); $("input.all").hide(); $("input."+val+"_class").show(); }); [09:43]
cdot:-) thanks - I'm not going to bother, though. Not really worth the effort.
the page looks a bit of a kludge, but it's not critical.

gac410MichaelDaum_: Lynnwood_: I think Question1871 was just link spam, it had a link to a coupon selling site in india that I removed. It was close enough to legitimate that I left it, but without the link. IP address activity showed no other Foswiki interest. "hit & run" basically [13:01]

foswiki_irc6Question - foswiki has me log in twice for some reason, I log in the first time and it just shows me the login screen again and then when I type it in again it takes me to my page. Why is this? [14:38]
gac410Are both logins the same, or is one apache, and the other foswiki template login? [14:38]
................... (idle for 1h33mn)
foswiki_irc6From my question earlier, it's the same login, both for foswiki using the default template [16:11]
........ (idle for 37mn)
Lynnwoodgac410 I was kind of wondering about that also. Good more to delete the link and leave the question as it a legitimate question that others well may be interested in.
(although i may delete my answer as Michael's is much better.
[16:48]
gac410:)
foswiki_irc6: I'm not sure why it would do that. Did you add "login" to the AuthScripts list in bin/configure? Anything unusual about your configuration?
[16:49]
....................... (idle for 1h51mn)
foswiki_irc6Just checked, "login" and "logon" are both in the authscripts section [18:42]
gac410hm, They are not normally in AuthScripts. You might try removing them. [18:43]
foswiki_irc6That seems to have done the trick, thanks
When I clicked log out I got a redirect warning though, not sure what that's about either
Guessing I need to add something in the PermittedRedirectHostUrls
[18:53]
gac410Well typically that's not needed if you use a single hostname / protocol (ie http or https) and have DefaultUrlHost set correctly
But yes if you are mixing www.yoursite.com and yoursite.com and/or http and https, they you may need the PermittedRedirect
[18:55]
foswiki_irc6Probably don't have DefaultUrlHost set correctly
It's just set as http://localhost right now
[18:57]
gac410is that the url you use when accessing the site? [18:57]
foswiki_irc6Nope, actually have a DNS set up for it. Guess I should be using that instead? [19:02]
gac410yes. And configure should be giving you a warning telling you :) [19:02]
foswiki_irc6Hmm, don't see an error, there's an exclamation point for the safepath part but that's all I see in that section [19:03]
gac410You visit configure as yourdnssite.com/bin/configure, and DefaultUrlHost http://localhost isn't complaining? strange
It should warn whenever the hostname used to visit configure doesn't match the setting.
[19:07]
foswiki_irc6Ugh. I was getting confused with all the windows I had open and was changing the actual server
I think I'm ok now, let me check to see if it still gives the redirect error
[19:13]
Redirect error is gone, but now I noticed if you sign in the first time it takes you right in, but then when you sign out and go to sign back in right away it still takes two tries., Ugh [19:18]
gac410I don't really know. [19:19]
foswiki_irc6Ok, it's only like that one someone else's PC, maybe it's a caching issue or something. Just tried it on mine and it works as intended. Thanks for your help [19:20]
gac410yw. Yeah, stale cookies, cache, etc can throw things off. [19:21]
