WhoWhatWhen
rouiljAck. No problem with f.o responding at the ip, but if you want to keep that then my technique won't work. [00:15]
gac410Not really, but I don't do a lot with the apache config. What do you put your rules in anyway? [00:16]

rouiljI am using hiawatha. But for apache https://httpd.apache.org/docs/current/rewrite/remapping.html seems to describe the mechanism under Canonical Hostnames.
set up a virtual host referencing the ip address. Then Redirect 403 /error.html or some such.
[03:00]
gac410ah nice idea. I'll mention it to uebera||.
thanks
[03:03]
rouiljsure. Hopefully it will be helpful. [03:05]

daemonhow can I get the wikiwords highlighter to only highlight pages that EXIST oin my webspace
if I have to type bloody !FreeBSD again I am going to have to kill something -_-
[17:44]
........... (idle for 51mn)
gac410daemon: There is a plugin - ControlWikiWordPlugin which can set lists of words to never link, as well as link by regex. [18:35]
daemonI was hoping for something that did not require me to list but rather just linked to WikiWords within my wiki [18:36]
jastdaemon: in your Main.SitePreferences (or WebPreferences as needed), I believe this should work: * Set NEWLINKFORMAT = $topic [18:36]
daemonah perfect! thank you jast
gac410, https://wiki.tmp.group/Vibsd/WebEpisode1x1 inching closer
[18:36]
gac410cool [18:37]
daemonfound out that 5 or 6 users tried to register on my site and I had my mail relay setup wrong
-_-
kinda handy though because I have not set permissions up as I want them yet
[18:37]
jastmail relays are often full of black magic [18:37]
daemonjast, exim I used host : host where I should have used <; host ; host
ipv6 is not compatible with the : seperator -_-
[18:38]
jastwell, I'm sure that' right, I don't really know my way around exim
:)
[18:38]
daemon:P
just to be clear
https://wiki.tmp.group/bin/edit/Main/WebPreferences?t=1496601557
is where I want '* Set NEWLINKFORMAT = $topic'
[18:38]
gac410That will control it in just the Main web. If you want it across all webs, it's in Main/SitePreferences [18:40]
daemonah ha I see
---++ Site Mods
* Set NEWLINKFORMAT = $topic
[18:40]
jastand make sure you use a multiple of three spaces in front (TML syntax for bullet list) [18:41]
gac410(or create a bullet if using wysiwyg editor. ) [18:41]
jastyeah, well, that heading markup doesn't like like wysiwyg :) [18:42]
gac410Main.SitePreferences is overriding System.DefaultPreferences. true, for Preferences topics, I usually make sure I use plain text [18:42]
daemonthink I got it https://wiki.tmp.group/Main/SitePreferences [18:43]
jastlooks good [18:43]
gac410Note that that disables ALL new links. Occasionaly it's handy to type some text including wikiwords that you intend to create. then follow the new link to create the topic. [18:44]
daemonfor me that actually isd perfect
I tend to work EXT->INT
so I write the end points before the main
well at least for this I seem to
lol
[18:45]
jastone thing to be aware of is that NEWLINKFORMAT affects manual links to non-existing topics, too (e.g. [[Main.ThisDoesNotExist][hi!]]) [18:46]
daemonhmm I have been using hard links [18:47]
gac410Another thing ControlWikiWordPlugin can do, for acronym type wikiwords, is only link the first occurrence Or FindElsewherePlugin can do the same for Acronyms, but can also point off to an acronym web. [18:47]
daemon<a href='https://metacpan.org/pod/POE::Component::Client::WebSocket' target='_blank' title='PoCo::Websocket'>POE::Component::Client::Websocket</a>
[[/HWMatrix][HWMatrix]
<a href='/Vibsd' target='_self' title='ViBSD documentation project'>viBSD</a>
etc
ooh HWMatrix was that style
[18:47]
gac410Ug... I'd recommend not using <a href> style links for internal links. Makes it much easier to move / reorganize, rename things. [18:48]
daemonah
ok dokey
[18:48]
gac410If you decide to rename HWMatrix to HardwareMatrix for some reason, [[]] style links will be renamed. < > style probably not iirc. [18:49]
daemonupdated vibsd :) [18:49]
gac410If you really want full control of linking, you can set NOAUTOLINK = on preference, and then [[LinkWhereDesired]] [18:50]
daemonits rally just getting used to it
really*
I am trying to use WikiText instead of wysiwyt(or w/e)
[18:51]
gac410Autolinking is of some questionable value. Especially if you support unicameral languages where Upper/Lower concept doesn't exist. [18:51]
daemonI am still fairly new! :)
though I seriously need to look in how you skin this thing
[18:51]
gac410We really only have 2 active skins. PatternSkin and NatSkin. NatSkin is a bit more complex to set up, but is quite nice. https://blog.foswiki.org/ is using NatSkin
There are a bunch of older skins out there, I suspect that most are non-functional on Foswiki 2.x
[18:53]
daemonyeah none of them are what I am looknig for
https://1drv.ms/i/s!Asj-dFOnBAsJjF18QVfTUd_r570c
like my dark stuff :)
ah ok man
catch you soon
thank you for the help
