foswiki_irc1Hello. I hope somebody is online. I am installing Foswiki for the first time - fresh download - ftp upload - htaccess files set in their direfctories - foswiki welcome page loads but when i want to go to the webhome it says crypt module not installed - so i downloaded that module from cpan, checked and corrected the path in locallib.fcg and now it says there is a software error: "AUTOCONFIG: WARNING: both ,v and ,pfv files wer [23:48]
gac410hm I think there is some failure in the CPAN requirements that will cause the test for files to fail and result in a false error.
let me look at the code a bit
[23:49]
foswiki_irc1hello. great - thanks!
some info on the system: i am installing it on a shared hosting system running linux. 1und1 is the provider
error msg: "AUTOCONFIG: WARNING: both ,v and ,pfv files were found in data or pub, suggesting that both PlainFile and RCS have been used at some point. Unable to autoconfigure - please resolve the histories manually. at /usr/share/perl5/CGI/Carp.pm line 353. CGI::Carp::realdie("AUTOCONFIG: WARNING: both ,v and ,pfv files were found in dat"...) called at /usr/share/perl5/CGI/Carp.pm line 44"

gac410As this is a new install, the message is most likely bogus, but I'm not sure what can trigger it.
Any warnings before that message?
[23:52]
foswiki_irc1i am currently uploading the distribution again - just to make sure nothing went wrong during the upload
no other warnings - it goes on after the message with more text
[23:53]
gac410I doubt that an upload issue could cause this. [23:55]
foswiki_irc1at some point: "BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at [...]/fos/lib/Foswiki.pm line 654." (foswiki is installed in folder "fos"
i doubt it too. there you see where i am with ideas about what to do...
next thing: lighting scented candles i guess ;-)
[23:55]
gac410Can you edit a file? lib/Foswiki/Configure/Bootstrap.pm [23:59]
