using which apache module?

Fallbackusing iis ;)
and there is this LoginAlias plugin for twiki, but it seems not to work with foswiki or not with iss, i don't know..
*iis
[08:25]

Babarright, Oliver made a point here. Normally, it should show you your wikiname, not some weird username [08:41]
Fallbackyeah, something like that .. best would be if just the "domain" part gets removed
with apache login u don't register on foswiki, the server will ask u about ur username and password
and foswiki just uses these informations from the server

OliverKruegerok
Fallback: I would suggest TemplateLogin with LdapContrib.
[13:04]
Fallbacktemplatelogin wasn't working with iis, every page that needs a login, like view or edit just gives an error "400 - bad request", seems to be the loginmanager.pm [13:09]
OliverKruegerthats strange.
Do you get the 400 before or after the login screen?
[13:09]
Fallbackbefore, no login screen at all
i can use configure.pl, type in the password, press next and *bam* that's it
[13:11]
Babarinteresting... [13:12]
OliverKruegerconfigure does not use TemplateLogin.
it relies on the webservers authentication.
[13:12]
Fallbackyeah, i know
that's why i say "could be the loginamanger.pm"
cause its only called with templatelogin
(i think)
[13:13]
OliverKruegerSo, is it a problem to setup the TemplateLogin or is it a problem of using the TemplateLogin? [13:14]
Fallbackusing it [13:14]
OliverKruegerWhen you get a 400, is there anything useful in the warn*.log, the webservers error.log or any other logfile? [13:15]
Fallbackno, i really looked to solve this problem [13:15]
OliverKruegerI do not have a W2k3 here to reproduce the bug. :( [13:16]
Fallbackbut i've to correct me, the view.pl is working, cause its not using the lognmanager, but edit, attach, rename and so is not working [13:16]
OliverKruegeryes, depending what you password-protected... [13:16]
Fallbackyeah correct
and on default you can view but not edit, and then the login.pl / loginmanager is called

i think activeperl is missing this one, hmm [14:54]
OliverKruegerDo you have access to the cpan via activeperl?
on the cli this would be # cpan install Unicode::MapUTF8
or # perl -MCPAN -e 'shell'

MTempestCDot: I can fix Tasks:5103 by wrapping from the topic text in a span with a special class,

foswikibothttp://foswiki.org/Tasks/Item1662
http://foswiki.org/Tasks/Item1554
[17:39]
CDotMTempest: my thinking about it was to covert to a different kind of token (which is basically what you are proposing)
but a span..... hmmmm
regarding 1662; I think you may be falling foul of the fact that the parser i the browser tries to be gentle with errors in input html :-(
of all these, the only one I feel should really be fixed is 1554
we have to be realistic about what can be done, and what is asking too much
you reported that against WysiwygPlugin. Do you think it's the translation that is at fault? Or TinyMCE?
[17:39]
MTempesttranslation
But I'll check
[17:43]
Okay, it isn't translation. <verbatim> </verbatim> survives roundtrip. [17:52]

MTempestNow I cannot reproduce 1554 :/

CBowersI have a puzzle I wonder if anyone can shed light on. Logging in my Foswiki instance shows a not found hit on Main.Gif for every web view. Yet I've searched on content for the entire Foswiki folder without finding the reference. Nore to I see it from manual searching in templates and CSS. [18:14]
MTempestCDot: 1662 is definitely a translator problem - I can reproduce it with a unit test [18:17]
***AndreU has quit IRC () [18:18]
MTempest&nbsp<nop>; survives roundtrip, but does not convert to HTML correctly.
As you siad, the browser is gentle with errors, and inserts an extra ;
And that means that an edit-save cycle in the corrupts it, even though a roundtrip unit test passes.

I'd previous confirmed it doesn't occur in page source which is what sent me looking to the templates and CSS. Reconfirmed just now though.
And yes it's in the logs with ?skin=plain

CBowersBack from lunch. And yet I've searched the Foswiki wiki with Find in the VM, synced it to my Windows laptop and ran search by content, and followed up with a multi-file search using my TextEditor. The only files that contain the reference are the log files.
Guess you're gone now, but just to finish the thread for the log, It's narrowed down to if either JQueryCompatibilityModePlugin or TWikiCompatibilityPlugin are enabled I get the reference to Main.Gif in the log. When both are disabled, not so. But then without those I have no sidebar or topbar in the FoswikiVM and thus whatever templates and scripts are rendering in those.
[20:08]

CBowersThanks for the confirmation Oliver (Yes, beginners vm is the base). I'd have thought the JS would still be gleanable in the text search. But I suppose the perl modules might be outside the Foswiki directory. [21:11]
OliverKruegerCBowers: afaik the perl modules are in /var/www/foswiki*/lib/ in the beginners vm. [21:13]
CBowersSomehow now, turning all the plugins off and back one to suss out which was creating it has broken editing... Raw and wysiwyg both bring up nothing but a row of buttons. Going to download a fresh instance to compare. Unfortunately this is a production instance that's borked now. Didn't think I'd need to snapshot if just toggling the plugins on and off. [21:15]
OliverKruegerYou are using the beginners vm as a production system?! [21:16]
CBowersBut I've used 3 different tools to search the entire foswiki folder case insensitive for main.gif, and come up dry, so it's hiding well. [21:17]
OliverKruegerI guess, its dynamically created from %WEB%.gif or $web.gif or the like. [21:17]

CBowersAt the time it was put out (and used as a starting base here), that nice little "not recomended for..." note wasn't there. It's since been updated to 1.04 and then to 1.05, Just a light load of 30 people using, on a VMware ESXi server. [21:20]
OliverKruegerI considere the missing note as a bug. ;)
But reading something like "vesion 1.0.0 plus some patches from here and some from there" would make me nervous, when I am looking for a productive system. ;)
[21:21]
CBowersAh maybe so. That didn't occur to me as it doesn't matter which web the topic you're viewing is in. [21:24]
OliverKruegerAh, ok. Maybe a buggy bug. ;)
Mixing up %WEB%, %INCLUDINGWEB% and %BASEWEB%. - But thats just guessing...
I have not find the bug yet.

[21:24]
CBowersTrue, but given the options at the time... I wasn't comfortable staying on TWiki as it was, the RAW 1.05 only just was put out, that left Foswiki that I built, or Foswiki that a developer built and patched. Rather give the configuration benefit of the doubt to a developer in the project.
Ok will do.
