fsfsre the autoBuild stuff, if http://fschlich.userpage.fu-berlin.de/foswiki/Release01x01/ is what's required, I might be able to help...
(sorry I haven't looked at the "building a release" part yet, just the UnitTest log)
[00:30]
gac410imho, the unit tests are more important, and if pharvey can get his autobisect code going, so that each fail is blamed on a commit, that would even be better.
There is probably enough for several to volunteer. Release01x01, Trunk, and it would also be nice to run some on minimum supported perl (5.8.8) and one on blead too,
[00:32]
fsfsI thought I'd do trunk as well, but so far I've only been playing with stock perl on Debian stable [00:34]
gac410every data point is helpful for sure. [00:35]
fsfslet me see how the cron jobs run tonight, and I might test the full build tomorrow [00:35]
gac410hm. I wonder why maketext escaping failed. That's not good. :( At least it didn't "execute"
It would also be good if we had tests running on different timezones relative to GMT. (GMT - vs GMT +) We've had bugs that only show up in one or the other.
[00:36]
fsfsthis is GMT+1 / +2 in summer.. [00:39]

pharvey1gac410 & JeffreyLovretich - I've added some stuff to http://foswiki.org/Sandbox/WikiGuest/SimpleInventoryQueries - there are easier ways to do it :-) [08:23]

SvenDowideitjast write a nightly script to export the username & wikiname to mysql :)
and then use an sso to do login
[09:46]
jastmichael's LdapContrib does that already, only with bdb
and the combination of SSO and AD is precisely what's causing the trouble
[09:46]
SvenDowideityeah, but you need yet another level :p
y? howso?
[09:47]
jastthis customer has multiple domains, joined in a global catalog
we've been using sAMAccountName to identify users, and we simply remove the domain suffix from what Kerberos gives us
[09:47]
SvenDowideitah :/ [09:47]
jastturns out that the sAMAccountName for the same user is different in the global catalog than in that user's home domain
at least in some cases
[09:47]
SvenDowideity, i've been lucky there - the oddest setup we just told them to add 2 custom keys to each user
and used those for user&wikiname
[09:48]
jastI don't think we can ask them to do that for a couple thousand users :( [09:48]
SvenDowideitbut boy, that took some er, kicking and screaming
this was more
but the wiki stakeholders were um, higherup
[09:48]
jastit takes several weeks to get a simple VPN account [09:49]
SvenDowideitand i just handed the most senior a script to make it happen
cruel tho :)
SvenDowideit is currently feeling like he's failing to get a handle on firefox's source codebase
[09:49]
jastwell, I suppose this means more billable hours
but still...
SvenDowideit: you want to look at *that*? are you insane or something?
[09:58]
SvenDowideitnope
er, maybe
i'm a c++ person
[09:58]
jastconfirmed insanity, then [09:59]
SvenDowideitand i like old codebases [09:59]
jastbad news, I know... sorry [09:59]
SvenDowideitgrin [09:59]
jastI've been meaning to look at Rust, mozilla's new experimental systems language [10:00]
SvenDowideitmeh :) [10:00]
jastit's being actively moved forward
actually I don't know if "forward" is the right word, but it's definitely moving
[10:00]
SvenDowideitso's coffeescript [10:00]
jastnah, coffeescript is pretty fixed now [10:01]
SvenDowideitand i seem to have problems liking that [10:01]
jastRust's syntax (and feature set) is still evolving
also, coffeescript is hardly a systems language :)
[10:01]
SvenDowideitSvenDowideit doesn't understand
as c++ is still evolving
heck
fortran is still evolving
[10:01]
jastyes, but they don't do stuff like, say, replace templates with a different mechanism
Rust is still in the stage where they can afford removing things that have turned out to be bad ideas
[10:01]
SvenDowideitin some ways they do - but they leave the old, so :)
hehe - wish we could do that with html :)
[10:02]
jastyeah, web in general [10:02]
.......... (idle for 46mn)
does foswiki mind '@' characters in login names? [10:48]
turns out the situation is different from what I first thought, and I'm going to have to include the domain names in the usernames now [11:02]
pharvey1I'm pretty sure Foswiki allows @ loginnames, but I've not done it myself [11:02]
ModAcOsthmm
meta->haveAccess is a funny one...
tried to remove some meta-data... Foswiki::Func::saveTopic would call meta->haveAccess which in turn does a loadVersion thus restoring the metadata I just removed..

foswiki_irc2Hello Everyone
Hopefully a quick question, when I use the WebCreateNewTopic to create a topic, does anyone know why is removes the letter 's' from the autogenerated wikiname? Is 's' a bad char?
[11:18]
jastwhat are you generating the wikiname from? [11:24]
